Puzzles/Gameplay 2/10 -There were 1 or 2 good puzzles within the game the rest is just really simple content that never expands on the concepts that are introduced -The amount of repeated stealth segments is mind numbing, they have to be added to pad the runtime IDK what other reason -Out of place QTE sequencences -The last Hour of the game virtually has 0 puzzles or gameplay Visuals 8/10 +The graphical style is really nice and and the painterly environments are pleasant +A few stand out backdrops that are great to look at -Some of the environments i found interesting were only played in for like <5 minutes and i would have liked to stick around and do some more puzzles within them -Death animations were very lackluster in comparison to other titles where the character clearly just touches some collision box and instantly goes limp, you can just die from touching a monster that doesn't even notice you Sound 7/10 + Sounded fine overall with some decent environmental + I like the jingle + Enjoyed the sound of the characters speaking and the cat - The vocal song that is played feels really cheesy and on the nose -Multiple cut outs of music and sound effects (IDK if its my computer) Preformance 7/10 +Overall preformed nice besides a few audio glitches -My character did not load in one of the scenes after a transition and then black void, upon "reload last chapter" the game crashed Story 4/10 + Plot leads the character to pleasant environments - Very derivative, its visuals and story have been done to death - Nothing surprising or thought provoking in the story Other - Collectable shrines not rewarding It took me about 2-3 hrs to beat the game for first time and another 2ish hrs to find the collectables ( alot of repeated slow segments and unskipable cutscenes) Overall Id give the game like a 5/10 I enjoyed looking at things but the puzzles were very shallowShow moreShow less
This game is probably for you if: - You love story focused games - You love beautiful whimsical worlds - You enjoy clever simple puzzles - Don't mind a game in the 3-5 hour range - Are a fan of both INSIDE and Ghibli This game probably isn't for you if: - You want tremendously difficult puzzles - Prefer crunchy mechanic focused games - Aren't a fan of games where the main reward is the story - Nothing about the world portrayed in the trailer sparked curiosity in you I love an infinite AAA game that you can pour years of your life into without ever scratching the bottom as much as the next person. Sometimes that's what I want, sometimes I really just want to be somewhere else for weeks at a time, to have an experience that I know will always be there with something new for me to do. And sometimes I want Planet of Lana. I've been desperate for something to scratch the INSIDE itch since it released years back. Planet of Lana scratches that itch with a more adventurous upbeat tone that still has a fair smattering of dark spooky moments. The puzzles aren't going to make your head explode but the way your companion is integrated into them leads to some super clever and satisfying solutions. Plus the composer worked on The Last Guardian, the music really really makes the game and helps reinforce that wondrous feeling of adventure. it also has some of the best alien wildlife ambiances I've heard in a while. Each location feels like it's full of very diverse alien creatures, most of which are conveyed through sound alone. I had a great time, some very tense moments, some very tender moments, some slightly frustrating moments, overall well worth 20 bucks if you meet the above criteria.Show moreShow less
It's pretty and the story is intriguing. It's not particularly clever. The puzzles are obvious, you just go through the motions. They make you repeat pointless actions a lot. Gameplay did not improve. Looks lovely but its stale old mechanics. Nothing new here.Show moreShow less
Imagine if Inside and Gris had a baby...and you will get one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. My wife and I took turns sharing the controller and enjoyed the whole experience. 10/10Show moreShow less
Breaks my heart to put a "No" on this, because visually I'm in love with this game. More reason to warn those interested in buying this game that beyond its appearance, Planet of Lana leaves a lot to be desired. What's iffy: - The game is overstays its welcome with repetitive puzzles, area layouts, story elements - The puzzles are way too easy, which adds even more annoyance when they constantly repeat (e.g. one specicific puzzle repeats literally like 10 times) - Occasional quick time events. This really isn't the kinda game demanding you to button mash or press at the right moment. It just ruins the atmosphere. - The story is foreseeable and adds nothing new to the formula. It was hard for me to connect with the characters or dive into the world's atmosphere, as it was all very shallow. If you desire a game like Limbo/INSIDE, you'll be disappointed with this one as in comparison it falls short on all fronts. At a huge discount, with low expectations to gameplay, looking forward to a very long moving picture of beautiful but quite monotonous landscapes, you may still find some enjoyment.Show moreShow less
This was so good I finished it all in one sitting. Yes, seriously. From the music score to the game-play, everything is just *chef's kiss*. My only nitpick is you should be able to change the keyboard controls (Crouch with the S key is not very intuitive). If you liked: -Limbo (2010) -Inside (2016) -Stray (2022) You will love this game.Show moreShow less
I wanted to like this game so much. I think the art style is really beautiful and the colors are amazing. But the gameplay is extremely repetitive and the puzzles are way too easy. The story is too shallow and that makes the unskipable cut scenes very annoying. It is basically a walking simulation. The art style is very beautiful but is repeated way too many times, makes it boring. The layout is almost always the same. You do the same puzzles and same things over and over and OVER AND OVER again. Controls are wonky and there are time-based puzzles where you need to do smt particular to solve it. The solution is very basic and you can see it directly but the parkour is very annoying because of the wonky physics of the game. For me this was a waste of time and money. I would not recommend it. There are so many way better games you can invest your time to.Show moreShow less

Nice and simple puzzle adventure game with an interesting premise and artistic and stunning visuals. While very pretty to look at, it is not very engaging to play. Most of the puzzles are trivial, and the solution is immediately obvious, but the puzzle design is time-based, meaning you are required to do precise actions in a particular order during tight time windows. This, coupled together with very clunky controls, quickly becomes frustrating, and I would only really recommend this game to people looking for a mere cinematic experience.Show moreShow less
