Battleye = uninstall I started reading the agreement and was shocked. Granting a game the right to scan my entire computer then upload, store, and share whatever files it feels like with "affiliates" is beyond overkill for cheat prevention. It's just a matter of time before this open access to countless thousands of peoples computers who didn't bother to read the agreement becomes the primary reason for this "anti cheat" software to exist... And to you pathetic bunch of hacking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... You've opened the door for creatures even more vile than yourselves. Nice work.Show moreShow less

This review is hella outdated now, as this is a live service and we've moved on to other controversies. This review is negative now in a modern context because the servers for the game are shuddering under their own weight and it's slowly becoming unplayable. Otherwise, a lot of what I whined about in this review has been addressed in one way or another, so there's that. -- So.. Shattered Warpgate launched a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Some details. They have removed reward incentives to participate in Alerts, removed income from daily ribbons, and have restricted a7 and iso-4 income to duplicate breakdowns or daily missions (limited to 3 per day) that give between 25 and 75 iso4 per mission. They were also generous enough to allow us to craft exceptional implants - it only takes between 450 and 900 days to gather enough to craft a single one. Meanwhile, a campaign has been added that features time-limited events that are on a continent that routinely locks, meaning when it is open, veterans set up to farm all of the newer players following objective markers to complete tasks. There is a massive list of changes that people have been wanting for years (like changes to implants, heavy's adrenaline shield, nanoweave armor, headshot multipliers, light assault vehicle lethality) that are completely ignored, but we get things like this for some reason. Why is it that the development process seems to be "Ignore popular requests, remove liked content, add content nobody asked for"? The campaign content for Shattered Warpgate is even timegated, so they won't even have anything to show for it as soon as it's gone. As the years go by, this game gets less and less rewarding, refuses to deal with the balance issues imbedded deep in the core of the game, still has unreliable physics and an unpolished presentation, and the game itself keeps getting passed around from company to company because no one wants to be burdened with the task of taking care of it - much less fixing what's already wrong with it. All new content for this game needs to cease production, full stop, and the game needs a long introspective look to fix what's already bleeding the game dry. Rushing out half baked, untested and unfinished content just so you can say you're adding to the game is only making everything worse, and there's no way in hell I could recommend this in it's current state. There is absolutely nothing like Planetside. The scale is unmatched. But that doesn't mean it's executed well, or even acceptably. The standards of quality just keep dropping and as much as it'd like to see it turn around, Daybreak seems either unwilling or incapable of pulling it off. [UPDATE] For the sake of being fair to the game, I'll update this review as the situation changes. Mostly due to it being relatively visible. As of October 5th, 2020, the monday after the first weekend of Shattered Warpgate, a couple of things have been communicated by the development team. 1: Concerning meltdown alert rewards/incentives, they have said that they now agree that removing rewards from alerts entirely was "swinging too far in the other direction" in regards to player resource economy, and they expressed interest in balancing the economy both so new players can be rewarded in their often shorter play sessions AND making sure veterans don't burn through all the content they can and then complaining that they have nothing to do. I agree with the general sentiment here but I very much wish this change did not have to go live after several weeks of player feedback on the test servers disagreeing with it and openly telling the developers that it would see harsh feedback on live. Even if they immediately reverse this (which has not happened yet), it's an incredible amount of both bad PR and damage to community goodwill and trust. It shows us that you don't care about our feedback if you don't even try to have a conversation about things we overwhelmingly disagree with. 2: There has been some talk about mission rewards being incredibly small and sometimes nonexistent, leading to incredible hypothetical grinds to reach anything for both new players and established veterans (who aren't already maxed out). While they have not given any exact details on what might be changing, they did point out that a brand new account's mission pool is entirely different from the "normal" one - meaning it's far more rewarding. I have not personally seen much of this mission list aside from a few screenshots. so I can't comment on those. The bulk of player feedback is that missions have little incentive, don't make up for the removal of rewards from other areas, take away from the core gameplay (shooting planetsmans and taking bases) and instead often lead players on arbitrary solo missions or instruct you to do something that relies entirely on the gameplay of other people to even attempt, such as piling 24 people together in to a platoon on demand and capping several bases just to unlock a pistol that you already own. These quests are also often buggy and difficult/impossible to complete. 3: Speaking of bugs.. the campaign. Not much has been communicated past what we already knew, but we have been told that they are aware of several gamebreaking bugs in the campaign that they will be working, namely one of the fetchquests involving collecting 100 flowers that routinely spawn in the terrain making them impossible to collect, and a bug with one of the fetchquests that requires you to interact with a terminal at the old esamir biolabs that just.. doesn't work at all most of the time. All in all, the update released in an extremely unpolished state despite several weeks of testing and feedback. It remains to be seen if they can clean up the presentation. A couple of other small things of note: The continent that the new campaign itself takes place on, Esamir, is now unlocked 24/7 instead of rotating like the others. This absolutely should have been the case at launch, since a huge chunk of players will for one reason or another want to be exclusively on Esamir - but it's good that it's taken care of now, at least. On the other hand, having the campaign force players to leave the continent and go back to the Sanctuary Hub just to speak to an NPC and then deploy back down to esamir is not only a huge waste of time (cmon, we know radios exist), it's also a blatant and cheap way to force players to wait through the queue times for no reason over and over again. Gotta make sure people know they can always buy membership to skip those queues, huh? It's a tacky look and everyone knows exactly why you're doing it. See you soon when we get more information on the hopefully incoming changes - I'd love to be able come back here, change the review to positive and to say that they had a change of heart and turned the ship around. [UPDATE 2] On 10/7/2020 an update went live that fixed a number of things. Alert rewards have been set back to (mostly) the same way they were before, restoring interest in continent alerts, and after having played a couple things feel more lively compared to the last week. Some of the poor and rarely completed mission objectives have been removed, and some work has been done to the rewards - no more getting copies of weapons you already own. 25 iso-4 still seems like so small a reward that it doesn't seem worth it, but at least it's now supplemental to the ISO from alerts, and not supplanting it entirely. A7 has NOT been added back to alerts, but the reward for the a7 mission is 200 and requires you to kill one bountied enemy player - this feels reasonable. A7 is less important, used for few things, and the income from the mission is enough that getting something that costs 4000 A7 doesn't seem incredibly unrealistic. I would like to see the choice to select multiples of one mission type, so you could stack up several bounty missions and end the session with 600 A7 at the cost of your other daily rewards.Show moreShow less
Edit: The Planetside 2 Elite Soldier Bundle is sweet! You spawn as an infiltrator. You steath into the enemy base, pull off some solid snake bs, nobody sees you. Exposions all around panic everywhere. You hack the enemy base turret and start blowing up the enemy with thier own defences. Suddenly! You explode! Ahhh darn they got you! but wait! You were teamkilled by a rank 1 NC Heavy on Connery named asdfghjkl. At first your mad, but then it dawns on you that he is actually... A tactical genius! He knew that you were gonna die anyways, so he denied the enemy points. By shooting his rocket at the stationary base defense, instead of those small hard to hit infintry scattered around the ground. He insured something was getting done while denying an extreme menace kill to the enemy. On NC Connery every teamkill has a tactical significance no matter how big or how small. They had your best intrest in mind when they shot you in the face.Show moreShow less
Look at my playtime. Seven years' worth. I've just uninstalled PS2 following this week's update. Unless they sort out the latest patch, vote with your feet. For those that want to know more, read on. Updates (especially since DBG took over) are always contentious, but I've never felt compelled to post a review before. Some patches simply needed time to bed down; I even begrudgingly accepted the castration of construction last year. But not this one. August 2019's killcam update destroys PS2 stealth and drags a unique game too far away from its USPs. Cynics might suspect that DBG's much delayed plans for PS2's battle royale spin-off PS Arena have met with such an underwhelming response that this is what's driving some of the decisions behind the direction PS2 is now taking. Mothball Arena and push PS2's gameplay ever closer towards the Fortnight/ Apex playing mainstream to drag in more new players? Re-educate/ persuade the existing playerbase that we no longer need the very features that made PS2 stand out in the hope we'll all decide Arena doesn't sound like a half-baked, cut-back and pointless idea after all? Take your pick, but until DBG respects what has given PS2 such longevity to date - including tactical depth and freedom to choose your own playstyle - my account is MIA on Auraxis. I guess the sort of player DBG wants for PS2 won't miss my Blackhand skulduggery and orbitals antics anyway.Show moreShow less
This game is like real life. No matter what you do, you are insignificant. You may feel like you can make a difference, but you never will. 11/10 would feel insignificant againShow moreShow less
i'm a 2xBR100 with 5k~ hours spent ingame from Cobalt (EU server). pros: - has massive potential of being the biggest & best TDM game ever (dynamic TDM with strategy elements, where hexes/bases are basically arenas). - nothing like it out there. - surprisingly fun infantry gunplay and deep class builds. - easy to use yet thrilling vehicular play (when not just farming infantry like a ♥♥♥). - 25-48 vs. 25-48s are some of the best gaming moments you'll experience. so are wins against the odds with your outfit mates. - game looks suprisingly beautiful considering what it's trying to accomplish. cons: - p2w elements introduced lately in the form of Implants that drain energy rapidly, and energy chargers rarely dropping to maintain energy. widens the gap between the new player or the average non-paying customer and the old player (with a lot of certs laying around) or paying customer, and gives a nice small advantage on the tier 4s. - client performance has been on a decline since performance update 01. it's been pretty terrible as of late, after code merge with ps4 version. - server performance has been terrible/unplayable the past year. especially for EU players (having better connectivity, hit detection to NA servers, instead of home server on EU). the devs know about it, but just can't get their ♥♥♥♥ together, either because they stopped caring about the PC version, or they just don't have the experience to solve this. - content/experience is player driven and since the community is lazy/stupid & there are no rules/restrictions to ensure quality, the fights are mostly unbalanced/one-sided/boring. a majority of the community either farms base captures (96+ vs. 2 guys in a spawn room, yey) or farms kills (mostly in vehicles/maxes or heavy assault) while not playing for any objective. - new player experience is still one of the worst in gaming history. tutorial is very slim and doesn't really cover some important stuff. you drop to the biggest fights on the continent ang get slaughtered over and over again. all your support tools are retardedly slow, and your can't get attachments for your weapons for a very long time. after all that, you end up in a platoon ran by a bad/lazy leader who teaches you the wonders of zerging like a stupid sheep, and than end up in a bad outfit that does it on a daily basis with an array of bad/lazy leaders. you also use a shotgun or a max suit everytime you can, cause why not.. and get used to completely playing the game on easy mode. and that's a the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ community expands and kills any competitiveness or fun you could have in this game. - dev team size has been cut hard or shifted to ps4/xbox1, and as a result new content is rarely released, or released in a broken "phase 1" state, and left like that for a LONG period. (we still didn't get any phase 2 to any of the phase 1s that currently ruin the game [like the resource system phase 1]). - weapon/class balance is terrible and the devs are generally out of touch/base their tweaks on spreadsheets, micro sales or forum/reddit outcries. - bugs, bugs, bugs, some still existing ever since beta. every patch creates more bugs. - game's netcode is clientside based, making the game pretty iffy for competitive play, where you die behind walls or can exploit packet loss to your advantage (therum style). the devs support the community with a competitive server you can scrim on (jaeger) doe. - base design is bad and boring for the most part. recycled assets everywhere makes for a very repeatitive feel to the game. - the game's engine can't handle big 96/+ v 96/+ fights. infantry starts to not render at normal ranges. mainly a problem for vehicle players.Show moreShow less
If your looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if your looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place. Ingredients: 1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter 2. 1/2 cup white sugar 3. 1/2 cup brown sugar 4. 1/4 cup water 5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 6. 1 pinch salt 7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced 8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). 2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside. 3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices. 4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal. 5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.Show moreShow less
I've played since 2013. I've been here a long time. I've seen the ups, and the downs. I've been a faithful supporter to this EPIC massive shooter for years. But today I sadly write this review. Firstly, there are no equivalent to planetside. When I first started playing, I got sucked into this unique universe and otherworldly athmosphere. It was amazing. It had a bright future. It was a rising star. It was something special to see and participate in HUGE and I really mean SUPER HUGE battles raging all over the place for hours. But the problems soon started to show up. One after one they showed up, ruining the gameplay for many players. The Devs tried but they didn't manage to correct what once was this marble. Lots of players left the game. The average population started to sink, month after month. Planetside had problems making newcommers stay faithfull to just this game. After 5 years the average population is nowhere near of how it used to be, the battles aren't SUPER HUGE anymore, maybe not even HUGE. The veterans are the only ones left, faithful to the game. Secondly, over the last couple of months something happend to this game. After years of decline in population, the devs finally promised us something good. An upgrade from the current Dx9 to Dx11, a new continent named Oshur. This seemed good, with some ads and promotion Planetside could get a more stable player base and maybe even attract more players due to more and better content. I was hopefull untill some weeks ago, when Daybreak Games said they would release Planetside Arena. It turned out, to us players that the Devs had been working on a new game. Not saying a word to their community, taking our money and put it into this new game. That MONEY were meant to support DBG to keep Planetside 2 alive . Atleast you could've asked us, your community, what we thought was the right move for Planetside 2. I have low hopes for Planetside Arena. It has a scheduled release as of now, January 29th. It's supposed to be an arena game featuring Battle Royale in the planetside universe. Like, what the actually fu... What happend to the fantastic universe, the one that was special and sucked ME into this otherworldy world of Auraxis? You just took that away, without even hinting it, but worst of all. You DGB took our money that were MEANT to keep planetside 2 unique and alive, and made another Battle Royal spinoff. I'm afraid this will split the small community you have left and it maybe even will be the end of Planetside. And ohh, I almost forgot. As of now - the servers specially mine, Miller is unplayable . We have server latency drops every 10-15 seconds. And ohh. We, the players also manage to restart the whole server after placing lots of tank mines in a small area. It literally crashed the whole server. So bad are your servers. It shouldn't even be legal to run a server as bad as Miller is at the moment I'm writing this.Show moreShow less
