Ultimately, the real foes in this game are: • The game forcing itself to be fullscreen. • The levels being too big to look all at once on a big screen. • Not being able to change the window resolution. • Collisions with walls being wonky. • The sprites having wonky collisions in general. • Not being able to tell whether a shot will pass behind a wall or not due to unclear wall boundaries. • Not being able to tell when a black spot is the back of a wall or just the floor on some levels. • The sensible option in most levels is to hug a wall and shoot from behind the corner. • But your weapon is disabled when directly in front of a wall, which makes shooting near walls unreliable. • The mouse leaving the game window rather than staying within the window. • Enemy place being consistently near the border of the window, making you constantly click outside the window. • Some player spawn points inevitably get you shot before you can even scan the level. • The level design in general goes from mazelike and completely unfair, to minimalistic and extremely easy. • The levels are random, so your chances of winning are tied to getting "good room RNG." • The mostly grayscale aesthetic making you unable to tell where you are without glancing. • The enemies themselves sometimes get lost within the white splashes left by dead enemies. • And even the mouse cursor itself gets lost within the enemies and the white splahes sometimes. • The aesthetic in general makes everything look like boring gray mush. Otherwise, the game is really easy. Simple enemies with simple AI. But man does everything around the enemies make it not only difficult, but absolutely annoying. There's a good game trapped inside here, but this ain't it. Edit: Now that i've 100%ed the game to S rank I can even more confidently say that this game is more tedious and annoying than fun, only really having sincerely enjoyed the first 5 minutes, everything else being kind of a boring nightmare. Playing casually, I had at least a dozen runs ruined by the problems mentioned above. I eventually took 30 minutes from work to brute-force my way into getting all the achievements. It wasn't fun, but at least now I can uninstall the game. I do hope it gets fixed in the future so that new players can actually enjoy it. Me, I'm glad I get to move on to better games.Show moreShow less
Classic shooter, you have 90 seconds to complete all levels and kill enemies. ✅The game is very simple and doesn't require much thought. You just need quick reflexes and a bit of luck (a lot depends on how the covers are drawn). It took me almost 90 minutes to get all the achievements, but it worked out well. ✅Brilliant soundtrack, very dynamic and enjoyable to play. ✅Good price for the quality of the game. ❌Big downside is that your shots blend with those of your opponents. ❌Levels are randomized, so your chances of winning depend on the walls/covers. If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. Im happy to answer them. All reviews are my own!! Best regards, King Viking Bezimienny, Polish Game Reviewer.Show moreShow less
This game is kinda like hotline miami the way it works. However, it's too basic, short and tedious. It doesn't help it has an insane memory leak which resulted in my computer crashing. The only redeeming grace is the trading cards and achievements.Show moreShow less

I've really tried to like this game. Even got the "S". This game is a fast, barely playable, top down shooter (seen this description on the dev's another gem). But why is the game "not recommended"? The game desperately tries to increase difficulty: - Heavily obscured vision by bullet fragments, mostly monochrome color usage, blending of sprites, and limited difference between the enemy types. - Jaggy edges, easy to get stuck - since eye focus is mostly on enemies, this is sometimes not easy to avoid. - Calculated precision shooting by even the most basic enemies on random (this is not a bad thing by itself). - Wall hugging camping enemies on random. - Inaccurate movements - even short keystrokes results in leaping movements. And of course - the timer. Probably the laziest of all difficulty increasing methods. Many things are based heavily on rng: - The random map layout: - the limited balance tweaks to map generation results in very random results, increasing luck factor, - some maps start with no cover, the player getting instakilled few millisecs after spawn (mostly happens on later levels), - some maps have way more time delaying layouts, than the others, - some maps have great covers for camping enemies. - The player bullet spread rng is ridiculous. Playing an instagib game, but with highly inaccurate weapons. I would really trade some rate of fire for accuracy. - Enemy movement - random direction based, with (seemingly) exceptions made by distance checks - which is great for enemy camping. Enemies can have very rapid movement speeds if player is near and rng is not on their side. - Edges might or might not catch bullets - seems to be either rng based, or glitchy. The game is neither retro, nor experimental. It is a fast top-down shooter deathmatch style game, with slightly pixelated minimalist art style. No real distinguishing experimental mechanics are present. Short learning and some skill is required, but very rng based. Very short. No endings whatsoever. Not even a "Congratulations!", like in the good old times. Couldn't recommend in it's current state.Show moreShow less
So i picked this up today for .89, .91 after tax. And within 30 minutes was happy enough with my purchase to grab 2 more copies for friends that I thought would enjoy it. The game is simple enough, WASD for movement mouse button for shooting thats it! and its brutally hard. One shot kills you, you have 90 seconds, 80 seconds if you are going for the achievement, to beat the entire game, but you likely wont last more than 20 seconds. I have at this point done at least 60 runs and the best ive managed is 72%, that said i love this game, it is well put together and well designed, and i recommend it highly especially at its current sale price. That said I do have one complaint, the game does have a pretty nasty memory leak, so about once an hour your memory will max out and the game will crash. Not a big deal since nothing is saved, and there is almost 0 load time to restart the game but worth noting all the same.Show moreShow less
QUICKERFLAK is a construction kit copy + paste game. The "developer" used the craptastic GameMaker Studio video game construction kit, copying + pasting and arranging premade assets, using premade level design tools so they could pretend they're an actual game developer. They've done these kinds of copy + pastes of Yoyogames Gamemaker Studio templates a few times, the copy + pastes of the template that made the Trip to Vineland series of asset flips is a key example of this. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Walter Machado has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers, and this is made worse when developers just reskin basic templates and pretend it's their work. QUICKERFLAK is a prime example of this, being just a reskin/refiddling of a basic top down shooter template for Gamemaker Studio. It's extremely low effort and extremely low quality. The developer boasts that they didn't bother adding any content to the asset flip, it has less than 1 minutes gameplay. And they want your money for this garbage. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. QUICKERFLAK is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. Note: Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not count towards your Game Collector counts, achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.Show moreShow less
