Rayman Legends is quite possibly the best 2d platformer released in the past 10 years.
It’s the follow up title to Rayman Origins (also a great game) and if you missed it, 40 of the stages from Origins have been included in Legends as additional re-mastered content.
It features over 120 different stages each with varying atmosphere, amazing music, and plenty of hidden collectibles. Each of the levels are hand drawn and beautiful to look at. Despite not being overly impressive on a technical level, Rayman uses a timeless style. While games like Crysis 3 probably won’t look that great 10 years from now, Rayman Legends will no doubt retain its charm.
The game also has multiple characters to choose from along with a host of unlockables. There are underwater stealth missions, time trials, and even musical stages where you jump to the rhythm of remixed popular songs. The inclusion of daily and weekly challenges allows you to compete with your friends, adding tons of re-playability.
If you enjoyed classic 2d platformers like Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country, you should check out Rayman Legends as it’s the closest thing to them in this day and age.

Great game but for the love of god, please remove the Ubisoft Connect stuff. I paid for the game, I shouldn't need to go through extra steps to play it, especially not on the Steam Deck where it makes launching the game for the first time a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chore.

Ubisoft recently announced they were ending support and taking all of the servers offline for "The Crew." This game was advertised as having single player content. But it requires you to connect to their servers even if you are not playing online.
What does this have to do with this game? Well it means that all of their games moving forward are potentially just long term rentals that are not advertised as such. This is a very anti-consumer practice. And I cannot in good conscience recommend any games from this publisher when that has the potential to happen to any buyer. Ubisoft could patch these games to remove the online requirement. But they're choosing not to. So that makes their products a very poor value proposition in my opinion.Show moreShow less

I would recommend Rayman legends if it were not for the issue of Ubisoft Connect. When I got the game I already wasn't comfortable with the idea that I had to create an account on Ubisofts website just to play the game. I ended up making a account and was able to play it none the less. Fast forward to now when I try to launch the game, I get a notification from the Ubisoft Connect side saying the the server is unavailable. I tried restarting, tried unlinking and relinking the accounts. And even waiting to see if the servers will come back up and they do not. It's sad that if something goes wrong on Ubisoft Connect you can't access the game that you spent money on. Not to mention this mean any games that I bought that were published by Ubisoft and requires me to have to sign in to Ubisoft Connect, I no longer have access to that game. This requirement needs to be removed.Show moreShow less
