No DLC! No ingame-shop! No season pass! No season pass year 2! Devoted Dev-team! mostly Devoted Community! edit: there's always people that play King Kong on the internet, see comments Not from EA! Not from Ubisoft! Not from ActivisionBlizzardwhatever! No 60Euro/Dollar price for a shell of a game! No divided playerbase because everybody has different dlc! No supernukecamperultrafinishingmoves like in cod! No jet- and helirape like in BF! No fancy golden or red dresses with a touch of purple like in other shooters! Napalm! Automatic rifles! Napalm! Teamplay! Napalm! Probably the best soundtrack since BFBC2 Vietnam! (best ever) -see edit! First time I've ever bought something pre-release in my life and I've been playing computergames since the 80ies. Why is that? Just watch the trailer (and all of the above). Go get this game! edit: soundtrack not even close to the BFBC2 one. Big disappointment. I expected something more like the 'usual suspects' of that era. Only instrumentals and very spheric. Like smoke some sportscigarette and lay back spheric. Definitely not for everybody. The game is still very rough and I'm glitching out at times, when going prone, have problems getting up sometimes, I get stuck in doorframes, and there's a lot room for improvement overall. But considering the pricetag, and the fact that it's playable just fine makes this a recommendation. Community: Well I said awesome community, let's difference a little here. Most people can express themselves properly and feel no need to personally attack other people for stating their opinions or tolerate different ones. And there are the 'others' whose life seems to end when somebody sees things a little different. I didn't feel the need to say so, but here it is, I am in no way affiliated to the devs, the publisher or anybody else, related to that game. I bought it myself and am excited to have a new game like this. I'm said to suck the devs/publishers spines out their asses, I'm a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, an inbred, a fanboy and a lot of other things because I like this game. Now you know it.Show moreShow less
Game is great fun with friends. Very tactical and requires some team effort to capture and control objectives. Graphics are great, soundtrack is neat ect. The only bad thing is, Easy Anti-Cheat hands out bans like Halloween candy. Didn't cheat, no racial slurs/spamming. Just logged in to a ban. Eye for an eye. Mark me wrong, I give a poor review. What a shame. I cannot recommend a game to anyone knowing they might get a false-ban smeared on their account for no apparent reason. :UPDATE: I emailed Tripwire, who seemed genuinly concerned, and thus directed me to contact Easyanticheat regarding my false ban. EAC stated in their reply "Bans are permanent and will not be lifted upon request. The reason for ban will not be disclosed." So there you have it folks, banned. No reason. No way to fight the claim or defend oneself. I try to be an honest gamer, and try to withold over-the-top vulgarities. I definetly don't seek out ways to cheat or gain the advantage in an unfair way. So what gives? What a disgrace.Show moreShow less
Come on down to Vietnam! We got: -Napalm and flamethrowers -Lots of cool and classic guns -Most guns being able to kill in few shots, this is dependent on the caliber of the weapon you're shooting enemies with, which bodypart you hit and the distance to the target. -Cool boobytraps to kill GI Joe -White Phosphorus grenades to burn out ♥♥♥♥♥ -Pretty trees and landscapes, but don't get distracted by them or you'll get shot like the idiot you are for looking at nature instead of focusing on the battle -Tunnel networks that'll end up being perfect spots for you to ambush unsuspecting GI from -Grenade launchers to get the ♥♥♥♥♥ from behind cover -Mounted machine guns that tear through everything -Helicopters with door machine guns so you can pretend you're that guy from Full Metal Jacket shooting at "well-disciplined VC" -Other helicopters that have cannons, rockets or grenades with grenade launchers in a turret -Character customization to make sure everyone on the frontline knows you're the cool kid in town -Lots of men screaming in agonizing pain -Ambient noise consisting of gunshots and more screaming -Classic voicelines, like: "YAAAAAAA!" and "SCAUT, REPARHT IN" -Political discussions in the chat about whether communism works or not (it doesn't, trust me on this one) -A playerbase that mostly uses mics and has cohesion/teamwork. This game has one of the best communities for multiplayer, even for newer players. (Personal experience, yours may be different) Only drawback is the lack of maps, which I hope is gonna get fixed soon enough. What's not to love? So pack your bags, say goodbye to your parents and sweetheart and come on down to 'Nam for some fightin' and fun! Just remember that the voices in your head won't stop after you come home, no matter how hard you try to drown them with booze.Show moreShow less
Was a good game. Then they listened to the vocal elements of their playerbase and made it more "accessible" - which boils down to making it Battleduty: Vietnam. Gone is the asymmetry of the forces, no more suppression that makes firing wildly at the enemy (the most important infantry tactic there is IRL), and it now takes even more bullets to kill someone because people complained about dying too fast. In a realistic shooter. Pro-tip to developers out there; there's this thing called a "silent majority" that makes up the core of your audience. It's usually not inarticulate children clamoring for better snipers, more vehicles, and "balance" in a first person shooter that purports to be focused on realism. I'm uninstalling and never buying another tripwire game.Show moreShow less

it's a fantastic game pre-ordered it and absolutley loved it the problem is the lack of color-blind support and due to the color scheme it's immposible for color blind people to enjoy it EDIT: i have "STRONG DEUTAN" which is a red-green colorblind type so due to the color scheme of the game and most maps it can be very hard for me to see the objective icon or any other markers in the world color blind support mode in other games usually changes icons and markers colors so colorblind people can identify them from the rest of the environment EDIT 2: some retarded kids downvoting the review and saying that i should'nt give the game negative review because of my colorblindness... I'm giving negative review because the game lacks a basic feature that is in almost all other fps games EDIT 3: some screenshots from other games that have colorblind support Overwatch BF1 BF3 The Witcher 3 League of legends Titanfall 2 Armored Warfare Heroes of the storm World of warcraft wildstar and the list goes onShow moreShow less

EDIT: On November 1, 2019 Steam asked me to revise my review because I played 386 hours. Let me preface my review by saying this developer has zero intention of honoring history or realism about Vietnam, and you literally see it everywhere. They have no idea how guns with, and that's why 1) peep sights in the game do not provide any advantage over notch sights, like they do in real life (round peeps straighten light and provide a clearer picture); 2) the M16A1 model is still wrong in that Vietnam ended in 1973 and the sights are incorrectly from a later period; 3) the damage model was made more forgiving because they didn't want to simulate the reality that AKs and M16s have fatal ballistics -- you don't even incapacitate the other guy until well after the first shot. ---- Nothing has improved about this game, and in many ways it has gotten worse. Sucks they don't care about accuracy and want to 'balance' everything out. Terrible. OK so here's what I think of this game, as someone who has been aboard since Red Orchestra, Red Orchestra 2, and Rising Storm, and as a military veteran. I preordered the game at full price and I was also around for every round of beta testing. Vietnam has SOME fun gameplay features, but the devs dropped the ball on some really important things. Since all the early smash hits, they fell off the wagon and half-arsed the weapons and decided to spend most of their resources releasing gimmicky cosmetic packs. No amount of customer input has encouraged the team to add historical weapons or to fix existing mistakes in the weapons. The M16A1 -- the most iconic American rifle of the war -- is a visual mash up of various rifles that never appeared in Vietnam. This gun still uses the sights from the M16A2, which appeared in US service 15 or so years after the US left 'Nam. The devs ignore collections of photo evidence showing their error and dedicate their time painting new tattoos to sell to newbies. The series used to be more about teamwork and realism, but they've since reduced the standards claiming that mere authenticity only needs to "look the part", and not feel the part or even play the right part. As a result, we have people running around with all sorts of gimmicky crap AMG sold them in cosmestic packs while the maps still suffer and the weapons are still wrong. And the bullets are weak too. The series used to be much harder, but, since the good days, the crew decided to appeal to the Battlefield crowd and require multiple hits for just about everything now. It made the game worse and the devs aren't taking the hint. I would not recommend this game to anybody. It started out as a good idea that only got worse when they took the new direction. It's not 100% crap, but more like 85% crap.Show moreShow less

I loved this game. Then update 1.5 came out and it became free on the Epic Games store. now its unplayable. Not because of the new players but because the amount of lag and rubber banding which now occurs. The only issue I had before was that it sometimes was hard to find a good server. Now they're all bad.Show moreShow less
