While I do enjoy the game, I can't recommend it with its pretty significant short-comings. Pros: * The combat is fun. * If you're a fan of League, it's cool to see all of the champs and their abilities are pretty well translated into a turn-based JRPG. Cons: * The game is designed almost entirely around artificially increasing the length of playtime. ** Even while sprinting your character moves incredibly slow. ** There's VERY limited fast travel, which means you have no other choice than to slowly crawl your way to places. ** If you plan on doing all the side-quests, there is quite a lot of backtracking. And given the first two points, you'll be spending A LOT of time walking through environments you've already been through. ** On several occasions the game gives you a quest that you can't actually complete at that time (with zero indication). So you'll spend 15 minutes running through a dungeon you completed 4 hours ago to get to a quest marker, just to see that the enemy won't spawn until you do the next step of the main quest. ** While you can speed up combat to 2x (which is basically mandatory), there is no way to skip the 5-second mini-cutscene for ultimates that you've seen a hundred times. ** The menus are clunky and the map is awful. ** The game is FILLED with objects that only certain characters can interact with, and it won't work unless the character is in your active party. Find a door that can only be traversed by a certain character and didn't bring them? Time to spend 10 minutes running back to a campfire to switch your active party and going back to the door so you can open it. I find this one to be extra-ridiculous because immediately after you'll get a story cutscene where it shows all the characters were together the entire time. ** The consumable inventory is atrocious. Want to use a potion in battle? It's sorted by weakest to strongest so you have to scroll all the way over to find one that actually restores more than 5% of your health. Want to sell old potions to prevent that problem? There's no "sell entire stack" button so you have to manually change the quantity you want to sell by holding the right stick up. You'd think you'd be able to just press the stick down once and the quantity would wrap around from 1 to whatever the highest is. It does not. ** The game has a weird system where when accepting a quest or opening a chest, you can't interact with anything else for a few seconds. Sometimes it'll even stop your character dead in their tracks. Not sure if this is a bug or intended. * Buggy ** The quest log has a button where it says "show location on map" and oftentimes it has just opened the map of a completely random, irrelevant area. ** Interacting with objects doesn't work pretty often. You'll be pressing the A button to loot something or to interact with a puzzle piece and nothing will happen until you walk away and then walk back to it. And there are A LOT of objects to loot so this is particularly frustrating. ** Remember when I talked about how you can't skip ultimate cutscenes? Well at least one of them doesn't work (MF's third ultimate) so you don't even get to watch an animation. It's literally just a blank screen for 5 seconds. Happens every single time. ** You can literally watch your projectile pass through an enemy's body but it won't trigger a fight. * UI can cover vital information in battle. At the top right you get a summary of enemy buffs that you should be aware of, but if there's too many buffs then it starts to cover up enemy intents. * This one is minor but they have a special currency in the game called Black Marks which are used at a specific vendor for special items. But for some reason every once in awhile an ordinary vendor will be selling a regular item (I've only seen it with fishing gear) for Black Marks. So if you're not paying attention you can accidentally spend your tediously-acquired special currency. No refunds! On their own, none of these issues are particularly game ruining. But combined you have an experience where you spend probably half the game time not actually doing anything. When the game works, it's fun. And if you ignore all the side content you'll probably have a much more enjoyable experience. Update: I have since finished the game and my last few hours were plagued by an incredibly annoying bug. But since I only experienced it AFTER my initial review, I'll put it down here separately: * My combat UI became permanently glitched (wasn't fixed by reloading or restarting the game or my PC) where it was showing information from a previous fight. So all the "lane hazards" being shown weren't actually there and the game wouldn't update the top-right section where it is supposed to show important information about your enemies.Show moreShow less

Not $30. I want to note that I've played BC:Nightwar; it's the same dev company so I was pretty excited. Gonna start hard by saying this game felt too much like it was BC reskinned. Even has the same fishing mechanic. It's been four years since BC was released and at the time it offered a lot of innovative ideas. I don't feel like any of those ideas were really improved in here. You'll want to play this for the... [Pros:] Depth into League of Legends Lore. Visuals and cinematic are stunning, artwork is amazing and delivers that comic book vibe. Voicing is amazing. [Pro/Con:] It's very similar to BC. The same engine just reskinned. If you've never played BC, this game will be innovative and fun. If you have, not much has changed. Don't buy the game... [Cons:] If you are on PC. Either this game is not polished or it's not quite made for the keyboard/mouse. Or both. UI is bad sometimes and not intuitive. Soundtrack is lacking. Pacing is slow. Here's me being nitpicky in detail (including some Technical, Gameplay, and Experience): - There's a warning about autosaves happening, but it hardly ever happens. You will have to manually save often. - Certain things in descriptions are missing. For example, what are the Max stacks for Yasuo's Steel Tempest. - Can't skip scenes. - If on Full Screen (including Borderless), switching to another screen minimizes the client window. - Sound bugs out periodically if 192kHz or above. - Every time you load a game you get tutorial prompted again for every menu. - By default your character Walks. There is no use for this, ever. This also resets every time you load the game. - Battle speed is also defaulted every time you load the game. - Going into battle there's some sort of weird spike that happens for a split second that drains system resources. - There is no FPS Limit. - Closing all menus have to be done with ESC. (Open map with M, I should be able to close it with M? Nope. ESC is the only way.) - Pathing issues. There's a few places you can get stuck. - Whenever you loot something you can't open the next thing until the previous one is done listing all the items. - Which quest is that on the map? Side Quest, Main Quest? You'll never know. - No Minimap. (This makes pressing M happen frequently, but remember, can't close map with M.) - Directional consistency isn't always there. (You're headed East? Now next scene you have to travel what was once West to go East.) Battle System - The only hotkeys for battle system is E(confirm) and ESC(back). So you have to mouse over everything, basically practicing OSU. You can use A and D to navigate abilities, but that's more clunky. - Abilities that are self-cast still have to be targeted on the unit. - Unit hitboxes are inconsistent. You're forced to use the character nameplates at the bottom left and enemy nameplates bottom right if you want consistent targeting. - Holding on to right-click for fast auto attacks will target units inconsistently, despite using nameplates. - You can't select which potions you want to bring in battle. I've checked tutorial over and over for this. You need a potion to revive your fallen ally? Too bad, it's not there, here's a variety of mana potions instead. - When targetting a unit with a spell, switching lanes using the mouse scroll will remove the target from your selection. Experience to share: While on the Main Story line(Normal Mode), getting from Level 23 to 27, I ran into a mob that I already fought a good chunk of times. This mob one-shotted my entire team from full health in one turn. My Braum was at 5k health including shields, taunt, and defensive stance. The mob was three levels lower. Pretty sure there was a bug somewhere with the terror debuff. Sadly, this was also where I discovered the lack of autosaves. Tried replicating it with the same mob and it never occurred again. Honestly ruined my entire experience. I just wanted to progress the lore. Then this happened, and all the minor issues turned into one major issue. Summary: Not polished. Not $30.Show moreShow less
The only time I have ever benefited from having a Yasuo on my team.Show moreShow less
I picked the game up on sale thinking it would be a nice little distraction from the usual games I play. While the core game is decent, the quests can get buggy and prevent progression and the collectables to increase your enchanting can completely break which is very frustrating when playing on the highest difficulty. Based on searches for fixes, these issues have existed since the game launched and still haven't been fixed as of January 2023. The lack of support for a relatively small game is pretty alarming.Show moreShow less

All the game mechanics and story elements are there. but this thing is so underpolished i swear they skipped out on actually trying to play the game and seeing if it is playable. too many times ive run into bugs with menus or animations that cause long pauses in the game. whats worse is bugs exist that stop story progression all together. I'd say wait a while til they fix the bugs. i'd ask for a refund but ive put too many hours already. edit: started playing the game again after hearing issues with dlc skins. so it seems they didnt test the skins with the game and just launched it together. ive been able to play with a lot less bugs when not using dlc skins.Show moreShow less
Riot thinks they can lure me in with a good story, talented voice actors, and fun combat. They pitifully use beautiful artwork, intelligent sound design, intricate world building, and detailed storytelling to trick me into playing their game. They seriously think that I would be fooled by an interesting storyline, compelling characters, and a satisfying looting system. Jokes on them, I am going to play 400 hours of this just to show them how wrong they are Update: This game got me back into league and I never touched it again. 10/10Show moreShow less
