I just saw the ad for this game where it says "Last sale before the price increase"... Price increase for what?? You haven't added anything to the game since I bought it that would be worth a price increase. Two new maps that feel cluttered and small. No online multiplayer. I'm not saying the game in unplayable, in fact it's a GOOD GAME, but raising the price for adding effectively NOTHING of real content to the game except for two maps and extra menu options is the most greedy developer decision I've ever seen. 20$ was already a stretch for a game that is essentially just a small condensed version of Skate 3 offline free roam. ----- Response to developer response: Regardless of your intentions, I think that what's being added is are hardly worth the price increase. Your original signage was accurate; it was the LAST time people would be able to buy Session at 19.99$. No matter how you phrase it, the message was received. I stand by my original review. You added two cramped maps and a bunch of stuff that either A. doesn't affect game play... Logos, brands, player models, cosmetics. Or B. nobody will notice. Bug fixes and "skating experience overhaul"... and the "and more" wasn't worth mentioning, so I doubt it'll be this game's saving grace. So the only real substance in this update really worth mentioning is the two new cluttered maps that aren't even as good as the original maps. Great... 10/10 guys. Your copy-pasted cookie cutter response seems so disingenuous and saddening that it makes me wish I could have just refunded the game and bought something else instead... Seriously, a genuine critique of your game and price choices and you give a response that reads like a bad AD from GameInformer magazine. An absolute shame and I've deeply disappointed. I suppose others can make their own decisions, but I will never EVER give you another dollar of mine. Period.Show moreShow less
Dudeee okay so this is like the perfect game to play after a long day working at Subway. Hear me out. I literally had to come into work at 11 today, so I could work the 11-5 shift. The games been installing all day because I bought it before I went into work. I get home from Subway, all stinky like bread. Then I literally took the milkiest bong rip everrrrr bro. Then I hop on session and just start busting out the fattest treflips of my life. 10/10 Would recommend.Show moreShow less
Never written a review, but felt slighted by creature Studios and gaming companies in general these days who constantly push the boundaries to see how much they can get away with when selling their product. In general, Session is a very solid foundation, but is clearly not a finished game. Many of the animations are still very wonky, there are quite a few bugs, and many of the features are listed as experimental or simply unfinished, like the story mode. The worst of it though, is that out of all the maps in the game, only 2 (two) are skateparks. One is passably decent (LES), the other (FDR) is 90% transition (which is borderline unusable because transition tricks and physics are in early stages of development btw) and 10% is literally a trash dump DIY park with a handful of basic obstacles. Conveniently though, for the price of $15, you can buy DLC that has two extensive, pristine skateparks that were originally in the early versions of the game but were then taken out to be repackaged and sold to you as extra content on top of the full price you paid. DLC has no place in a freshly released game, let alone one that is knowingly released unfinished. It's wrong.Show moreShow less

For the record, I had Session for years, more specifically since 0.5-ish. This review is coming from the perspective of someone who's been playing the game and following its development for that long. Not everyone will like this, but some things need to be said. Now... Steam's thumbs up and down aren't enough to explain why I'm giving this a thumbs down, but put it simply, this is NOT 1.0. Saying otherwise is insulting when early access bugs are still present and when a bunch of features are still listed under the experimental menu. If you're looking for a full AA Skate clone, this is not quite there yet for many reasons. There's a lot to Session, but it does feel incomplete if you're looking for some degree of polish. However, if you're looking for a competent skateboarding sim with loads of features and maps to play around with, it currently doesn't get any better than this. On that regard, Session's the best option out there and it might still be it even after the Skate reboot comes out. Long story short: The devs call this 1.0, but it's actually still not a complete product. Thumbs down for that. But if you don't necessarily care about how complete the game feels, this version is solid and currently the best skate sim out there.Show moreShow less
Have been anticipating this game for some time, and I'll be keeping it brief. Pros: - Considering early access, the controls, movement, and actions are fairly smooth - World is pretty huge compared to most kickstarter drops - Finally landing tricks is insanely satisfying - Game has huge potential, and grabbing it at $20 is a steal - Cuts the crap and sticks with the reality of skating and life instead of unnecessary fluff and randomly placed objects to add things to do Cons: - You're skating as a mannequin from the start - Hit a ledge wrong and you and your board go soaring beyond reason - There's not much to do (yet). - Glitched out and couldn't even leave exit the game * - UI is pretty dark, aesthetic is easily fixed though. Text needs better contrast and it should be fine Overall, game is definitely worth the money and I'm looking forward to playing it as it grows both on and off streams. Would definitely recommend. *Thanks invincinblewalnut for pointing it out. The fact that you have to hold the button to leave is good but definitely wish it were clearer. Not much of a con though.Show moreShow less
EARLY ACCESS REVIEW Little bit over 15 hours into the game now, and I'm loving it, and kind of hating it at the same time. I'll start with the parts I'm loving so far. The controls are pretty weird to get used to at first, but after playing with them for a while, I'm really enjoying them. The fact that going into switch ACTUALLY switches your footing controls is pretty wicked! (They're honestly so much better than Skate 3's controls in my opinion) The sound effects are BEAUTIFUL in this, along with the visuals, especially at night. The map is a bit limiting as of the moment, but you can still find some pretty sweet spots to do some skate lines around. Although there's not too much customization as of the moment, one thing that they brought to the table are custom griptapes, which honestly look AMAZING! Why they never bought that to Skate 3, I'll never know. Now to the parts that have been a bit irritating. The skater seems to be EXTREMELY fragile to pretty much anything you tend to even slightly nudge into. Almost anything sends you flying off your board, and even then (from time to time), I'll just randomly fall off my board for no good reason, mainly during a grind that looks PERFECT, I just randomly fall, but I'll go back through and do that same grind the same exact way, and I'll be fine. Ragdoll animations will crack you up at first, but then you just get tired of seeing your skater fall for no valuable reason what so ever. Reverts seem to work a solid 50% of the time. (at least in my experience so far) Sometimes I'll be doing slight adjustments to where I'm going, and BOOM! Instant revert that I never wanted to do, but if I'm trying to do a revert during a trick or manual (I mainly have this happen during manuals), the skater just wants to adjust his board a million times, but no revert. They should maybe change the input for reverts to maybe doing a half circle on the sticks or something instead of having them with the directional inputs of the board? Just so the controls don't mix up the fact that you want a revert and not just minor adjustments to your skateboard's direction. Just a thought. Now this last issue has honestly been drawing me AWAY from the game, and honestly makes me want to drop it until this gets fixed. There's currently a bug in-game that messes up your camera angle to where the camera is pretty much only showing your feet (unless you jump, but reverts back to showing your feet), and makes it to where you can't do anything but run around with the worse camera angle in existence. Can't skateboard or anything, and the only way to fix it is to return to your apartment. I know it's not too major, but it's honestly really annoying when you're trying to record something for said game, and you encounter this so many times (I've had this happen 12 times in the matter of 25 minutes if that tells you how many times this can occur), it makes you not want to continue playing the game. Now if I could at LEAST keep my waypoint to where it was when I returned to the apartment to fix this stupid bug, I'd have no issues, I could INSTANTLY go back to the spot and resume what I was doing before the bug happened, but it's the sad fact that that's not the case. You have to return to the apartment, exit, then go ALL THE WAY BACK to where you were to continue what you were doing, and like I said, this could happen again 5 seconds after you resume what you're doing. I know the game is in Early Access, so it's going to have bugs, I get it, but to release a game with a bug like this is honestly pretty irresponsible on the side of Crea-Ture Studios, especially seeing as to how it literally prevents you from playing the game from time to time. EARLY ACCESS REVIEW CONCLUSION Overall, I sadly can't recommend this game to anyone while it's in Early Access. Although I love the game for what it is, it's issues hold it back too much as of this time, especially when there's a bug that LITERALLY prevents you from playing the game repetitively, which Crea-Ture Studios definitely NEEDS to patch ASAP! Still excited to see what the future brings to this game.Show moreShow less
I used to sit around for hours and play skate 3. fooling around with the replay system and item dropper. making simplistic yet sick lines. This game has gotten really close to recreating that feeling , though its still kinda rough, the base game is a perfect start. if any dev reads this. please don't leave us hanging. finish what you started. and you could create a skate game people play for years to come.Show moreShow less
This game is not finished. Now it's important to establish that I do not—and by extension, nobody but the team behind this game really do—know why they decided it was a good idea to sell this game as a finished product. My guess is to make the game available on more platforms, for more people, and being able to play this game on PlayStation is undoubtedly awesome; it's great that more players get to have their hands on the single most definitive skateboarding simulator out there right now, but this game did not deserve to leave Early Access. It's buggy, and it's broken. It's lacking features and optimisations critical to the full skateboarding experience. The game feels completely empty. Character customisation is laughably underdeveloped. You can't even skate goofy-footed without noticeably janky animations; sucks to be that other half of the skateboarding population, I guess. Features touted as part of the game are still listed under experimental menus, a signal that these things are subject to change, or subject to be abandoned completely. This was never a problem, of course, and anybody else whom sunk the hundreds of hours that I did into this game, across both Steam and Xbox no less, understands that the pleasure you get out of playing Session is the same joy you get out of real-life skateboarding: being part of a culture, expressing yourself, bettering yourself. I want to make it clear that this core aspect of the game hasn't changed whatsoever, in fact it has only improved, and undoubtedly will continue to improve... But now that the game has released, the bar is raised. Early Access was a completely acceptable excuse for buggy, broken experimental features, outdated animations, a soulless city and a glitchy story mode that feels more like a proof of concept than a campaign, among a longer list of bugs and issues that the game has always suffered from. There is no longer any acceptable reason for the game to be in this state. The players expect more, and they are right to expect more. Veteran players like myself may continue to enjoy the game for the little skateboarding sandbox that it offers—I know that I definitely am never going to stop playing this game and following its development—but there is nothing in this game that was worth a 1.0 build number. Nothing in this game that is worth £34.99, that's for sure.Show moreShow less
