The game itself is a classic, I love it and have no complaints about it. However, Steam upgraded it without warning me about incompatibility issues and now the game isn't compatible with my OS version, so all the cities that took me hundreds of hours to build are unusable and I can't play it anymore. If you're going to update the product to a new version that makes it incompatible with older systems, you should at least let users know about it so they can make an informed choice. Not to mention that there's basically no customer support. Very disappointed.Show moreShow less
Doesn't require a constant internet connection Doesn't randomly wipe cities Doesn't prevent you from using mods Doesn't restrict control over regions Doesn't confine you to a 10x10 city grid It does however put a game that is 10 years newer to shame. If you want SimCity, look no further.Show moreShow less
Thumbs up for the game itself that Maxis (not EA) created. Thumbs down for the fact that EA drove Maxis into the dirt, and for the fact that they are selling a 20 year old game for $20 which doesn't even work on modern PC's without 3rd party .dll patches... which is basically tantamount to fraud (faulty product/false advertising). Whatever, EA is trash. Note: To any newbies attempting to play this, it's a good game but it was designed prior to multi-core CPU technology and will crash constantly unless you isolate the game to running on a single core. Also, the game has not been updated to support any of the current GPU's/Widescreen resolutions. Rather than trying to fix these issues via startup commands/options, it's much more convenient to just download the handful of driver files that effortlessly correct these issues from Simtropolis. That is all. https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/762953-performance-and-graphics-list-index-of-all-critical-mods-to-install/Show moreShow less

Dear EA, you like to double up prices of your games, too bad I like to leave negative reviews on your pages.Show moreShow less

Why support games and provide servers for multiplayer when you can just increase price by 300%? Never ever buy anything from EA games: this company does not care about it's customers.Show moreShow less
Since people don't know what the PC Gaming Wiki is, here are 3 essential files you need to download and apply to the game to get the best experience out of SimCity 4 on modern operating systems: Large Address Hardware - improves the games performance by removing the 2gb limit on how much RAM SimCity 4 is allowed to use: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/ SC4Fix - a .dll file that fixes bugs unpatched by Maxis, crash issues and the infamous "prop pox" glitch, which in general gradually removes props from the player's city, breaking the game: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30883-sc4fix-third-party-patches-for-sc4/ SimCity 4 Launcher - a launcher for the game that includes options for autosave, choices between 3 renderers, CPU improvements, widescreen resolutions, borderless or not borderless windows, a mod manager, a tick to disable intro movies and an improvement that forces the game to render as the player scrolls (primarily for AMD users): https://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/54082-simcity-4-launcher-updated-100915-154b-r12/ Install all three files (directions included in each link) and you'll be good to play SimCity 4 without any issues. EDIT: Almost forgot - if the game refuses to launch, set SimCity3.exe's compatibility to Windows XP and run as administrator.Show moreShow less
Sim City has always been one of my favorite games and it's a shame that they haven't came out with a more recent edition..... As much as I would love to recommend this game - I just can't... they are charging too much for a game that doesn't play nicely with newer systems like Windows 10. The screen probably won't even have a resolution that will fit your monitor. If they did a definitive edition where they fixed the bugs and updated a few things - I would look into it... but as it is, I wouldn't pay for this game if I could go back,Show moreShow less
