AT A GLANCE (Full review follows below) Game Name: Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 Original Release: 2013 Genre Tags: FPS; Stealth; Sniper; Linear My Overall Grade: B+ Estimated Playtime (Campaign): 5-10 hours Multiplayer Aspect: Auxiliary Recommended To: Established fans of the genre; Game atmosphere connoisseurs REVIEW Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is a narrow-pathed, story-driven FPS with minor stealth elements. The campaign is highly story driven and will escort you from scene to scene as you progress; don’t expect an open world, or much freedom to explore in the main game. (The DLC expansion, however, does provide a more open-world experience). There is also a multiplayer mode which did have a small number of active players at the time I played this. What I found most enjoyable about Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was the main campaign. I really enjoyed the simple storyline, the pacing of the game, and the landscapes which you explore. The graphics may not be the absolute best, but I really found the levels to be attractive and interesting. The story wasn’t earth-shatteringly good but it kept me interested throughout my playthrough. The story guides you through narrow-pathed levels as events unfold. Don’t expect to be able to do much exploration or anything; although, there are some hidden collectibles to search for (even then: scarcely off the main path). You are a sniper, so most of the gameplay revolves around moving (stealthily) from one sniper spot to the next, picking off enemies as effectively as possible. There are stance, breathing, gravity, and wind mechanics that are taken into consideration when you snipe. And you are supposed to snipe… you won’t be able to "Rambo" through the game, even on easy. That said, the game is pretty forgiving and has decently placed checkpoints, so even on hard it shouldn’t be overwhelming. In fact, some people may actually find the game too easy— as the AI is pretty predictable and most scenarios can be swiftly dealt with before they even are aware of your presence. There is also a multiplayer mode. There were a few dozen people playing at a time on the occasions that I checked it out. It certainly can have its moments, but when you have a 5 on 5 (or less) of all snipers, it can get pretty dull. It was a little too slow for my personal tastes, but I am sure it can be quite enjoyable for those who would appreciate the style of PVP gameplay. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 offers a fun campaign that will take you on a ride and offer a brief FPS experience focused on stealth and sniping. If that sounds like fun, you will probably enjoy what this has to offer. I wouldn’t, however, expect much from the multiplayer experience. I would give this game something between a thumbs up and a thumbs down because I do like some aspects of the game. However, they force me to make a black & white choice and I choose "No Way". The graphics are pretty good, the basic gameplay is OK but there are a lot of issues: 1. There are places on the maps you can get stuck and not be able to get out of AND you cannot kill yourself to continue playing the game! You have to leave the game altogether and rejoin (if you can). 2. There is no way to kick or ban a player on your own server DURING the game ...you have to wait for the game to be over! This is the ONLY thing you can do to protect yourself and it isn't even in-the-moment or real-time! 3. Rampant cheating via engineered hacking/aimbot/God-mode programs ruin any opportunity for the expectation of fair play. I feel as though I have left more games than I have finished because of these jerks. I wish them all a horrible painful death in the real world. They have collectively stolen the money we have invested in this game and Steam does nothing to stop it. Indeed, the cheaters occasionally talk about such things and defend their own actions on the Discussion channels and you never see a Steam moderator step in and take any action. They have left us to the wolves. 4. The "game-view" or "sight-view" (what you see vs. what the enemy sees) is really screwed up. I can be inside a tunnel with no view of the enemy yet he can see me and kill me. How is that fair? My arms and legs aren't hanging out, I am OUT OF SIGHT and even this is no defense. Being out-of-sight is not even considered stealthy in a game that is BUILT on concept of stealth? 5. There is no way to configure your own server for "Pistols-Only", "No Pistols" or anything else that would allow different styles of play or game modes for variety. Every server and every map is largely identical with few deviations. It quickly becomes boring. 6. Character movement and control is full of inconsistencies... in some places you cannot go prone for no aparent reason. Where you can go prone, while you are crawling on your belly you may encounter a flat board or step in the ground. Crawling across this change in terrain causes you to STAND UP! Instant death in many circumstances. Other places with boards or terrain changes this doesn't happen and you pass right through them. In some places you cannot go prone, but if you hit "Crouch" it instantly goes prone instead. VERY inconsistent on a portion of the game that SHOULD be rock-solid in its second version. 7. Cheaters/hackers/banned players can just make up a new name and continue playing. How does this help the integrity of the game? There is no way to stop them and the game LETS them get away with it for as long as they want. The game was fun when I first started but now is only occasionally fun and the more I play the more frustrated I get. There are far too many problems, not enough players, too many cheaters and there is NO support from the developer or this provider so I have decided to stop buying ANY more games like this. Little quality control or standards seem to be applied and the user pays the price.Show moreShow less
Vintage chocolate chip cookies Ingredients 150g salted butter, softened 80g light brown muscovado sugar 80g granulated sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 large egg 225g plain flour ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda ¼ tsp salt 200g plain chocolate chips or chunks Method STEP 1 Heat the oven to 190C/fan170C/gas 5 and line two baking sheets with non-stick baking paper. STEP 2 Put 150g softened salted butter, 80g light brown muscovado sugar and 80g granulated sugar into a bowl and beat until creamy. STEP 3 Beat in 2 tsp vanilla extract and 1 large egg. STEP 4 Sift 225g plain flour, ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda and ¼ tsp salt into the bowl and mix it in with a wooden spoon. STEP 5 Add 200g plain chocolate chips or chunks and stir well. STEP 6 Use a teaspoon to make small scoops of the mixture, spacing them well apart on the baking trays. This mixture should make about 30 cookies. STEP 7 Bake for 8–10 mins until they are light brown on the edges and still slightly soft in the centre if you press them. STEP 8 Leave on the tray for a couple of mins to set and then lift onto a cooling rack. RECIPE TIPS FREEZING THE BISCUITS If you’ve frozen the biscuits, take them out and arrange them on a lined baking sheet. Once defrosted, pop them in a medium oven 190C/170 fan/gas mark 5 and heat for 2-3 mins to crisp up. Don’t leave them too long or they’ll dry out. STORING DOUGH You can keep the uncooked dough in a sealed container in the fridge for up to two weeks. Simply take some out, dollop on a lined baking tray and allow to come up to room temperature for 5 mins before bakingShow moreShow less
I can't help but be dissapointed by this game. Other reviews seem to hype it up like it's some kind of amazing stealth experience, but in reality it's a 4 hour long Call of Duty stealth segment. Linear to the point of absurdity (they literally point you to your targets and say "shoot this guy, now shoot this other guy, great, now these two guys" for the entire game), it has no depth whatsoever, and the story is as interesting as bingo night with your grandma. Seriously one of the most underwhelming games I've ever played.Show moreShow less
Don't you love it when your called a hacker for shooting a guy through a tiny crack and then get kicked from one of the only multiplayer servers there are. Otherwise it's a great game to play.Show moreShow less
The game sucks. If you are not in the area that is exactly marked with borders you get slain. "OMG, YOU SET YOUR FOOT OVER THE BORDER" *sudden hearth attack* Everything is made with scripts so you can't try an own way to play the game because there is only 1 way to activate the scripts. "Shoot the grenades that soldier is carrying on his belt to kill all 3 soldiers!" Me: Nope. *Takes ou pistol and shots all 3 soldiers" "OMG, YOU DIDN'T DO WHAT WE TOLD YOU TO! "Y O U S H A L L N O T P A S S!!!" Also you don't have to think or do anything except shooting because the enemies are "kindly" marked and they tell you exactly what to do. "Sneak around the rock and hide between the trees, then the soldiers will not see you. Then shoot the sniper going around on the roof. Shoot him on the north side so the other enemies don't see him dieing." Where is the fun in a game when you don't even have to think because everything you have to do is following the exact orders. Why don't they also tell you every hour "Hey, don't you have to go on the toilet?" "You should really go to drink something now!" "Hey, aren't you hungry?Show moreShow less
The storyline is short but it's fine game. I don't see any ghost because I am the GHOST.Show moreShow less
The game is too linear and there is virtually no freedom for the player to make any decisions themselves. Only one way to go, only one way to finish the level, and the same sniping over and over.Show moreShow less

The playthrough of Sniper: Gh-... Wait... The playthrough of Gunman: Testosterone Warrior took me 7 hours. It was a journey full of shooting at every corner (where the game didn't strictly forbid me to with harsh scripting), and of so much testosterone that that it'd make a MMA tournament look like the girl scouts. If one looks for a game that has to do with actual sniping, look no further: This is absolutely not it, and the only game which is that is the ArmA series (with the right mods and missions and/or people to play with). This game has about as much to do with being a sniper as Carmageddon has to do with being an everyday commuter by car. Unfortunately not only the gameplay - which pretty much forces you to shoot your way through most of it - has nothing to do with sniping, but neither does anything else the devs have put into this game. It supposedly is about a "ghost" warrior. I presume that they mean a creator of ghosts, because there'll be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of them around after he's done murdering half of the country he's in. The things that one would think that "ghost" actually refers to are about as silly as the All Ghillied Up mission in COD4, although that game actually did it kind'a good. The "ghostyness" of this game includes: - Your spotter/buddy approaching a gate saying "We've got to be careful.", and when you as the player open the door he'll run through it (and the next 100 meters of who knows what) like it was the start signal for olympic 110m hurdles. Running around seems to be an important theme in sneaking, according to this game. - Leaving a trail of bodies so rich and dense that a blind-deaf old man could track you down by the smell of blood and gunpowder alone. - Careful sneaking to stay hidden (with the scripted AI), in places where the sun will show your shadows like huge silhouette figures against the wall beside you, rather than sneaking 2-3 meters away where there is room to sneak. Also shouting and arguing within earshot of the enemy is also fantastic stealth-behaviour. - Having a 'sniper perch' inside of a building where the character leans through the window, instead of sitting well inside of the room to hide himself, seems to be preferable. No sport in being a sniper if the enemy can't see you, right? - Firing with an unsuppressed Barrett rifle from just a few hundred meters so that everyone within at least a mile's radius ought to be able to locate you by the sound alone, not to mention all the dust-kickup from that muzzle brake. - Having such a ghosty sight so that on the highest difficulty where you get no aim assist there is no scientific way to determine where to aim. The mils-scale on the sight is completely useless, so you just have to wing it and hope you hit. Despite all the above the game is almost okay though, as long as one expects an on-rails shooter. Although the game is heavily scripted and basically breaks if you don't do ♥♥♥♥ in the order you are supposed to, it plays quite fine if you stick to the script. It is testosterone-pumped to the point of stupidity; the characters are so full of it that they almost explode, but main grips of the story are still good enough to feel plausible and game-progressing. The game can be pretty tricky on the hardest difficulty too because almost all your UI-help from the easier modes is gone, so finding that particular object or guy to shoot that your buddies are asking you to pop can be very hard sometimes. The game is flawed. Pretty darn flawed actually. But for the €2 I paid for it on this summer sale I don't feel like I was tricked. I definitely got my money's worth of fun, but it would be senseless to buy this game for its full €10.Show moreShow less
