i bought a fighting game and ended up playing dress-upShow moreShow less
Nope. Sorry. Done with this multiple Season Pass BS. Season Pass one ripped 3 characters out of the game to resell us: Tira, Amy, and Cassandra. And BamCo has the gall to LIE and call Cassandra an 'All new playable character'. She was playable in Soul Calibur 2 & 3. 2B? Fine. Crossover. Charge for her. But that's not enough for game companies these days. They don't want you to only buy ONE Season pass reselling you series staples as DLC. No. Paying for the game plus DLC 1 ain't enough! So now we have Hilde ins DLC 2! Yep! A second DLC with another fan favorite & series staple to milk MORE money out of people! it don't matter if you bought the game. It don't matter if you bought the season <censored> pass 1, because they make you buy ANOTHER. What's next for SC 7, BamCo? Sell Critical Finishes as separate DLC? Sell kicks separate? You can only punch unless you buy the Kicking DLC..once per character! After that; grapples are DLC! Actually, the ENDINGS are DLC! The final boss's health bar will not drop unless you buy the Ending DLC! I was lukewarm on Season Passes existing for games at all, but at least the first Season Passes gave you EVERY DLC for a game. now it's drip feed you 5 things in Season Pass 1, then force you to buy Season Passes 2 through 50, because them multi-million-dollar video game companies need every last penny from players or they can't eat! So drip-feed your content and fun in as tiny chunks as possible over as many DLCs as possible! To hell with Season Passes. To hell with DLC. And To hell with chopping my fun out of games to appease your share holders who probably don't know what an Xbox or Playstation even controller looks like! And yes, I did copy/paste this for SC 6's Season Pass 'One'. Like hell I'm buying #2 to get drip fed more content that SHOULD have been base game (characters) or at least in one total Season Pass (addons).Show moreShow less
better than SoulCalibur V, can confirm.Show moreShow less
Soul Calibur 6 is a reboot of the series. I bought it because I had fond memories of Soul Calibur 2-4 in my childhood. I wanted to relive some of that greatness. The fighting mechanics are there. I don't agree with some of the changes they made to some character's move sets but over time you grow accustomed to the changes and learn to embrace them. The core feature of the game is good, not great, but good. The soundtrack is filled with grand orchestral tunes, much in line with what has been done in the past. If you liked music from earlier games you'll like whats offered in Soul Calibur 6. Multiplayer is there. There were some missteps at the start but it has improved since then. Its better than it was but there's still those who grumble about it. Those are the good parts. There's a lot of bad. I will only talk of the two worst. The single player game offers a "story" mode. The fighting is fine but the narration and writing is atrociously bad. It sounds as though a random high schooler wrote the story line. It is very cringey and I am allergic to cringe. It bothered me to the point where I could only play story mode in short bursts. The second major fault is what most other reviews touch upon and that is that the predatory sales practices being instituted by the game. Over half the characters are gated by a DLC paywall. All of the characters are being released individually to maximize profits. Even some of the gear from character creation is being held hostage behind a paywall and much of it is gear that is a copy&paste from previous titles of the series. They are making their customers pay money for old content that should have been included in the base game from the start. You can enjoy the game but it is going to cost you. At the time of writing this, if you want all the current content and you act as frugally as possible it will still cost you $90 for the deluxe version (which includes Season pass 1) and an extra $33.99 for season pass 2. There will be a season pass 3 most likely and possibly a season pass 4. If the price of future installments stays the same you're looking at a $155 - $190 purchase for all the bells and whistles. I cannot support these business practices and shoddy workmanship. This is blatantly ripping off a fanbase for all the money its worth. I will no longer support Soul Calibur in the future. This is a thumbs down from me.Show moreShow less
It has 2B in it.Show moreShow less
I don't have any criticisms of the game play, graphics or music. All of it is great. But the content is bad compared to every other release, SC 1-5. Where is the bad ass opening CG movie and in game cut scenes? Pre-production art and cheap 2D flash animations used to tell the story. Lots of voice acting but who cares? A bunch of expository lore writing in the museum, but who cares? I can't look at character models in profile like in earlier games, only a static 2D picture. Where is Time Attack? Where is Team Battle? Where is Survival? Where are extra game modes that actually switch up the game play? And why do I have to pay for extra characters when they could be unlocked through game play in earlier games? Yeah, I know you zoomers and journos love your DLC, but this is a travesty compared to earlier releases. The core game is fine. But in earlier releases you got A LOT of content, whereas now it's pretty meager. I recommend getting it on a HEAVY sale or from a key reseller.Show moreShow less
I am a 40 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 13 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2021 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories. edit: yall was baited frShow moreShow less
Been with the series since Soul Edge. F*ck modern day fighting games. How many more season passes until you have the day one full roster of games from years ago? Greedy As*hole devs.Show moreShow less
I'm gonna keep this short and simple. SoulCalibur VI offers custom character creation, a nice variety of game modes including CPU vs CPU, good music, and the game runs great. The character creation is in depth and offer lots of different ways to customize and create your characters. There is also in-game currency for buying equipment in character creation, I really like this. The loading times are great, the scenery and character graphics are beautiful, and controls feel smooth as silk. SoulCalibur VI easily deserves 10/10! Do yourself the favor and get the game!Show moreShow less
Good Performance but it feels like they just took the minimum out of the UE4. As same as they did with the character roster, this is to less content all in all. Why do I have to buy Tira for 5 bucks? I mean many characters are missing anyway so you want money for old characters?...cool combat feels good and refreshing and far better then in SCV, I like the story mode so far and the fighters which are included feel all different , not that sure about balancing but this also feels okay. In terms of the first points i must give it a negative qoute because its not worth 60bucks for a PC game and the DLC politics suck already, I dont support this.Show moreShow less
