initially I loved the game. I played the demo and waited happily for the game to go live to purchase it as soon as I could. Sadly the game took a turn. The Dog is lazy game play mechanics. It is on a very tight patrol path and can sniff you out from a long way away. This is nothing more than a delay tactic not a real game play element. You aren't trying to sneak by the dog or prevent the dog from finding you. You are basically just tossing a smoke bomb at the dog or running from it. It is anti fun. I need to collect a bone but the dog will sniff you out before you can use a pick more than once. So toss a stink bomb or run away and wait. That isn't enjoyable. That is just boring game play. The dog I thought patrolled the park and you had random bits of danger. No.. it is just there to delay on a couple of quests. If be fun if the mechanic was enjoyable but I truly found that mechanic to be the enemy of fun... and just quit in sadness for such a pointless mechanic. Mix this with buggy building... and building that doesn't really seem to have any point. I mean the building Mechanic literally seems to serve no real purpose in the game... and sadly I just can't recommend the game. The lack of controller support is an odd choice too. I mean I tried three different ones and literally none of them worked at all. The art style is lovely. Running through the trees and exploring is fun. however given how short the game is and I have no idea what other game play choice were made.. I just decided my time was better served with a different game.Show moreShow less

Cute little game but I can't recommend at full price. There are a lot of bugs in the co-op version including quests completing for one person and not both so you miss out on key things if you happen to be unlucky. From some digging I did it seems the company that made this game are no more so there won't be any updates to fix these issues. Other than what I said above its a lovely game to play with family or friends for a cozy game night! Just snag it on a big sale not full price.Show moreShow less
Two paws up! I have not played a platformer since the Nintendo 64 days. The idea behind this game interested me as I enjoy being around squirrels at my local park or when hiking on nature trails. Squirrels are very playful, energetic, curious creatures that are interesting to watch and fun to be around. I wanted to play a game where you play as a squirrel exploring their surroundings. This game lets you do just that. Squirrled Away is an enjoyable colorful game full of cute likable characters and cozy locations. The game lets you progress at your own speed while completing quests from other squirrels. You will be leaping from tree to tree as you forge for items and explore an ideal sunny park. You will also craft new tools to help you progress. Fans of base building will enjoy how much you can upgrade your home nest in this game. The music is nice and soothing and fits the games relaxing atmosphere. I wish I could find the soundtrack available outside the game because I liked listening to it in-game. The game also features an online coop mode so you can enjoy the game with others. Overall if you want to play a relaxing stress-free game or just love squirrels (Or both!) this is the game for you. Endless summer days of adventure await!Show moreShow less
The game is fun and cute and quite short. There is one Achievement locked behind finding someone to play with you through multiplayer. So either a friend needs to buy the game also or you need to try and find a friendly person though the games discord to help you out with that achievement, for that reason alone i am giving it a thumbs down until that achievement is removed or reworkedShow moreShow less
I don't usually play "cozy" games. However due to my obsessive love for squirrels a friend gifted me this game and it would have been rude not to play it. I absolutely loved it and i was truly gutted when i popped the last achievement on it. Hopefully they add a few more in the future so i have a reason to load this gem up again. There is only ONE thing negative i could say about this game and that was the lack of fast travel at times.Show moreShow less
So this is my honest opinion. I like the IDEA of the game. But in its current state at launch it is not worth it. The bugs are endless and I've been soft locked multiple times in multiplayer and in singleplayer. The daredevil squirrel seems to be the trigger for many people including me. It breaks your quests so that you cannot complete them properly. Ive had glitches where i suddenly cannot climb, where my inventory acts full when its not, where items once dug up or broken apart will fall to the ground and disappear unable to be collected, where my builds vanish when leaving and re-entering the game as well as many more small annoying bugs that make it unplayable. now i must give credit that the developers are responsive and are doing their best to put out patches as soon as they can, but it doesn't change that after the demo area things immediately start breaking. In single or multiplayer. on top of that this game ran me about 6 hours. the pacing feels a bit off, you tend to establish a house with your bare minimum needs and then you are immediately in a new area having to rebuild, and there are fewer spots than id like that are available for building. It means alot more running back and forth a good distance just to move and gather materials. certain mechanics also feel rather under used. yeah you can swim which makes you think youll need it for a quest, but you wont. its nice that its there because drowning every time you touch water is dumb, but i also just felt like there could be more content than there was. you can build a fishing rod and you can fish, but no it is not for questing it just exists with no reason for you to do it. that was disappointing for me as i considered it along with building your house to be the things i looked forward to the most. However for the price i paid that part wouldnt bother me as much (i got it discounted) if it werent for the other issues (glitches). the game feels good to play when it works. movements are sharp and snappy, it feels good to glide and climb. but the camera can get wonky when climbing. and climbing on small branches can get strange when you go upside down. you end up struggling to find which direction is forward for a few seconds. right now no the game is not worth it. but with some patience and time for the developers to fix things, it could be. if you are looking for an open world experience with little puzzles that will last you an afternoon this game is for you. otherwise it likely will not be.Show moreShow less

I love the game, but it's a shame. It has a bug that I find unforgivable: corrupting saves. Let me tell you my story: First, after two hours and completing the Daredevil quest, I quit the game. When I came back, I had nothing I'd built (this bug seems to have been fixed). But... today, after starting over for three hours, the game crashed, and when I came back, my save was gone. In the empty slot, it gives me an overwrite warning when I try to start a new one. For this reason, unfortunately, I can't recommend this game. In fact, I feel frustrated, and if I could, I'd ask for a refund. If they find a solution to these problems and give me confidence that it won't happen again, I'll change my review, but so far, this is how I feel.Show moreShow less
