the game itself is good -- the community completely ruins it. unless you plan on playing with friends, don't waste your time and money. the lobbies have become a haven for the genuine bottom of the barrel scum we're forced to call "people". racists, misogynists, pedophiles, people who get off to being irritating to everyone around them, and everything in-between.. god forbid you're a woman like me, playing this game becomes even more of a nightmare. you'll get targeted, harassed and hit on within your first game if you use voice chat. it renders the game completely unplayable if you've actually got your head screwed on right. disappointing.Show moreShow less
Add workshop maps and a map creator and this game is the receipt for endless fun with friendsShow moreShow less
Really enjoyed the game when it first came out, now there is non stop cheaters in the lobbies. I've seen them able to sink hole in ones every time from anywhere, take control of peoples carts and make them smash into a invisible wall, they can hit anyone's ball... A lot of issues that ruin the gameplay entirely. They took over full control of my multiplayer lobby and kept endlessly advancing to the next hole so I was just stuck in endless loading screens.. I couldn't get to a menu or anything the only option was to alt f4. I don't expect expert anti-cheat for a game I paid like $6 for but online play with random people is ruined at the present time and I mainly play solo in random lobbies for fun.Show moreShow less
This is a fantastic game but two important things I noticed: 1. ADD >BALL< RESETS PLEASE, ball getting stuck was sad, especially if youre at the end. Rather than just full-resetting, being able to have character+ball respawns at the respawn points on the map would be nice. 2. Workshop maps will give this game a long long life spanShow moreShow less
Gameplay is fun. Think Mario Cart but GOLF! It can get a little crazy but I enjoy it. HOWEVER! There is one big glaring issue: last round kicking The reason for not recommending this game right now is how kicking is handled. Only the host can kick people. Being kicked on the last round because you are winning takes away a lot of enjoyment for me. Last round kicking happens often, in my opinion, because there is zero penalty for it when done for petty loser reasons. I'm not suggesting taking kicking away altogether but I have a few ideas: 1. Apply a "report" system so that users can record bad faith actions and the devs can decide to penalize frequent abusers. Like griefers, last round kickers, hackers ect... 2. Give us a voting system for kicks. Not perfect but would prevent impulsive kicks due to being on the bottom of the score board. 3. Hosts that kick on the last round receive a penalty and are barred from hosting public matches for an amount of time. Frequent kickers are put under review and potentially lose public hosting privileges altogether. That's all for now! I suggest playing a different game until they figure out how to properly implement competitive quality of life changes. Edit: After posting my original review. I didn't intend on playing the game anymore. Too many Hosts were kicking when they were losing, refusing to kick griefers/hackers, or screaming racist obscenities so I took a break from the game. I do enjoy the core gameplay so I decided to play again BUT... I vowed to never again be at the mercy of tyrants. So I became one! I started only hosting games so I couldn't be kicked. This fixed a lot of issues for me though I still try joining games every now and then with varying results ranging from hilarious and fun to hostile and mean. I find that the host sets the tone so if you don't like meanies then just change lobbys or host one yourself. I do have another suggestion: Currently, the only way to see who exactly is screaming those racist expletives over VC is to look for feedback indicators flashing over a persons icon on the approach bar at the top left of the main screen or be looking at the player when they are talking. Would be amazing if we could get an additional VC indicator in the pause menu, on the player list, next to the name of the person speaking. Right next to the kick button... Shout out to the dev Colonel Baguette for reading my review and suggestions! It truly is a fun game at it's core and you must be so proud of your creation! Looking forward to the additional features being added.Show moreShow less
It started out as a really great game with friends. It ended as a really great game with no friends. I will miss them but not as much as I miss air horning them during their shot.Show moreShow less
The game is great to play with friends. But in one or two nights of playing it you exhaust the entire map pool and find yourself replaying them all. I was expecting more maps (they don't need to be perfect) coming after the release. I hope the developers invest into hiring some people to help them with this issue, then ill change my review to a positive one. Maybe add community maps option?Show moreShow less
This game sucks. Buy it, and buy copies for three of your friends. All 4 of you will suffer. Buy this game.Show moreShow less
Great game, had a lot of fun with it. But now they've added a vote kick system, so if you play a bit too well, you just get kicked. Really awesome feature... love being punished for playing the game properlyShow moreShow less
