Things I learned from Super Meat Boy. It is possible to love the one thing you truly hate. There really is an art of dying. My 360 controller flies further than my ps3 controller. My neighbors can hear me through two brick walls at night. My neighbors think Im a serial killer. I might actually be a serial killer.Show moreShow less
Ok, Let me start off saying i absolutely adore Super Meat Boy. It's got great level design, funny humour and plenty of well-made content to enjoy. HOWEVER I simply cannot recommend the steam version due to the consistent issue of the game deleting Save data for literally no reason. When this happened to me i kept looking to see if others had the same issue and as it turns out, i'm not alone and in fact i found a thread from 2012 talking about experiencing this bug. 2012. And it still is in the game and is a common issue. To make it clear how long that was ago, This game is a decade old, so a game-breaking bug was left in for a decade despite numerous patches. To say this is inexcusable is an under-statement and because of this i beg of you to get it physically for PC or on console. This is Friggin Stupid.Show moreShow less

I have mixed emotions for this game. Yes I can see why people would like it. It IS fun. It IS challenging. But I just dont get why so many people praise this game as beign one of the best platformers of all time. I mean, Meat Boy (the character) is literally the personification of everything that people typically DONT like about platformers. The things they complain about: He moves super fast, hes very floaty, hes hard to control, etc. These are things people list as problems with other platformers, but here, the controls are praised. I dont seem to get it. I cant get a grasp on his jumping ability at all. I always find myself over jumping because after he leaves the ground he seems to sprout rocket boosters out of his ass and just fly forward. And I love platformers. MegaMan, Mario, Castlevania, etc. Those games are my ♥♥♥♥. all with super tight controls. I dont know. Maybe I need to spend more time with the weird controls in this game to really "get it" But that being said, what Ive played of the game so far is fun aside from the control problems Ive had. But the game DOES constantly crash for no reason and return me to the desktop. itd be REAL great if itd stop doing that.Show moreShow less
This game is harder than Dark Souls.Show moreShow less
This game is phenomenal. Its history is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, its support is a joke, PS4 & PS5 controller schemes aren't native, the only 'addition' in over a decade is when this was ported to PlayStation (PS3 & VITA at the time) they removed Danny Baranowsky's iconic OST (Not toggle-able or available on PS either at the time) and replaced it with a decent collaboration of artists basically making a new atmosphere to the game; it's good music but it's not Meat Boy anymore. And if you're currently active you already know the problem with the behaviour behind Team meat; timed exclusive sequel on EPIC then they return to Steam to suck out whatever they can because Team Meat are currently exhibiting death throws. Horrible, just absolutely soul crushing to watch at the moment. Don't play this game, it will show you a perfect precision platformer that's being beaten while its down, it's incomplete & rushed because of the teams decisions & they still a decade later state it's because of Microsoft - choosing to agree to a development term & project this ♥♥♥♥ onto whoever else - never once adding true content or DLC because thinking about working on this game makes them feel "icky" because of their experience developing it. * Selfish comments below * Purchased this game on 360, PC, physical PC copies three more times (different versions), PSVITA & Switch. I have a sub 20 minute any% but am not part of the community, I ran this game a lot because I was in love with it. Between all this I've spent thousands of hours learning and getting better because I enjoyed watching myself slowly crush challenges I couldn't even attempt. Don't worry though, Binding of Isaac was remastered, ported, rebuilt, had DLC released, supported & loved. Our boy has been neglected for so long & now they show no respect to us the fans, the actual property or your money (which is a fair to say your time as well) If you respect yourself enough to read reviews before deciding on a purchase, treat this as the biggest red flag that I have the control to display publicly. Get away from these predators - excuse the wall of text, I got my 5th notification on my feed since December about more merchandise for this game and flashed red- ♥♥♥♥. Team. Meat. Return to Newgrounds, Kongregate or Gamejolt because honestly these people have got to be humbled.Show moreShow less
