If you have friends, this is a great game to play with them. If you don't have any friends, this is a great game to play alone. If you don't have the game to play, get the money for it. If you don't have the money for it, get a job. If you don't have a job, rob the bank. If you get arrested robbing the bank, at least you tried.Show moreShow less
TL:DR AT THE END FOR LAZY BUMS. Ok, you probably went here to the Negetive side to see down sides of the game however most of the negetive reviewes are either: A go back to the positve side or, B gets boring fast and is a stupid game with less then an hour played. So here is an actual review that will show the downsides of the game but, know that i did really enjoy the game, its one of my favorite games of all time. I still recomend to atleast try it out, but here is just the downsides. Bad instructions for beginners is Terrarias worst flaw. Its pretty hard to get into when your new. Having a friend showing you the basics helps. The Guide NPC helps but is fairly mediorce. You might have to spend a lot of time looking at wikis to figure out what to do. Some people may like it since you get to explore and this might instead be a huge postive, so understand what you yourself prefer. I'd recomend watching a few youtube videos just to understand the basics. However once you get past the initial hump it picks up and gets better. Its mostly the first 2-3 hours that have a way to steep learning curve. The rest of the game is fairly decent and new things tend to become more fun. It also has alot of useful items only obtainable through RNG. Some may argue this makes it fun and it may for some but not for all, keep this in mind. One slighly more minor thing is that somtimes. Your world or characters may get corrupted. This usually never happens but if it does there is no way to recover them. However this rarely happens. I have only gotten a character lost once without mods. Seems like some people have this with in relations to terrarias cloud save function. One thing if you do get the game. DONT GET ITEMS FROM OTHER PEOPLE. It does severly ruins the game. If you play multiplayer, make sure you either play with another new player. Or somone who is willing to start over. This game is about the journey not the destination. TL:DR I LOVE THIS GAME. HOWEVER HERE ARE JUST FLAWS AND I PUT IT IN NEGETIVE TO SHOW DOWNSIDES. ODDS ARE YOU WILL LOVE THIS STILL. 1. RNG 2. BAD INSTRUCTIONS 3. SOMTIMES CORRUPTS WORLDS AND CHARACTERS.Show moreShow less
This is a review seeing just how terrible Minecraft is in terms of content in comparison to Terraria. It's bad. Special note: This was made as of Terraria 1.2 and I'm way too lazy to update it ITEMS MC Items: 350 Terraria Items: 3646 ENEMIES MC Enemies: 21 Terraria Enemies: 401 BOSSES MC Bosses: 2 Terraria Bosses: 29 POTIONS MC Potions: 13 Terraria Potions: 76 WEAPONS MC Weapons (varieties): 6 Terraria Weapons (varieties): 360 (5 swords, 1 bow, VS. 77 swords, 38 bows, 20 yoyos, 17 spears, 11 boomerangs, 13, flails, 5 "other melee", 60 guns, 28 staffs, 9 tomes of magic, 14 "other magic", 17 summon weapons, 31 thrown weapons, 4 turrets, 16 waraxes) PETS MC Pets*: 2 Terraria Pets: 44 MOUNTS MC Mounts*: 3 Terraria Mounts: 11 (*Including tameable mobs and rideable mobs) On to my personal opinion (if you really do care): Mixed opinions. I prefer Minecraft for the building and the survival. Terraria has a good array of things you can use to build but I like to use Minecraft because of the complexity of machinery you can make using all the complicated gizmos and gadgets in it. As for survival, it's exceptionally fun in Terraria but I like it in Minecraft as well due to the sheer size and randomness of a world. In Terraria everything is more or less always the same; corruption/crimson, hell, space, etc. but in Minecraft there are so many more places to choose from! But all the same, Terraria can be fun too. So, opinions aside, due to our comparisons... TERRARIA WINS!... ...right? You see, it isn't about who has more of what. It's about the way to play. The way to enjoy it. You enjoy building, being creative, making pixel art? Play Minecraft, it's the perfect game for you. Don't have much taste for being a super builder, but like adventuring, fighting, bosses, etcetera? Play Terraria. ...or uninstall both and get a job, loserShow moreShow less

You're probably here to look for the counter-arguments against Terraria, but are frustrated to find only dumb or fake reviews telling you "just buy it/what are you doing viewing negative for terrria lmao lol kk". Well, I'm here to tell the truth, and while I think this is an excellent game, there are things to watch out for (not necessarily cons, but things you personally might dislike): - This is, by nature of its premise, a very "look it up yourself" game. The game has improved a lot on the aspect of giving you more ways to find things on your own, but it's still not nearly enough. Like Minecraft, GMod, Don't Starve, any other game of this type, you're probably better off having the wiki open at all times. - This is a grindy game. Whenever I start a campaign I usually put some podcast or music on, because a lot of the gameplay can be very mindless. Especially as you move past the big shift in the midgame, you'll find yourself in a lot of situations where the only way to move forward is to go to a specific location and just grind for a while, or start a specific event and just grind for a while. It's very much that type of game. There are mods that solve this if you want, but I'm talking specifically about the vanilla game here, and even with mods you really can't escape the fact that the meat of this game is pretty much the grind, you're just getting less meat in that case. - That also plays into my next point, this game is long. It's NOT a concise game. If you're taking it slow, putting effort into building, trying to explore as much as you can, etc... you might play 100 hours and the game won't even be close to over. - This game is piss easy. Even on Expert Mode, if you're not a child and have any game experience at all you'll breeze through most of it. With later updates they added a new "Master Mode" which is actually difficult, but it's essentially just a damage slider kind of difficulty and not really all that fun or interesting. Again, there are mods that fix this by adding new difficulties that are far better thought out and make the game way more interesting and less stale. - While playing alone is still fun and valid, this game improves tenfold when playing with other people. Adding people to the mix makes it sooo much better and breathes new life into the game. It is unfortunate then, that the multiplayer is coded like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Not only does the game becoming way more demanding on your system exclusively during multiplayer (especially for the host), unless you're all playing on the same LAN or something the lag is basically inescapable. To play Terraria multiplayer is to come to terms with the fact that the game will become unplayable at complete random and you just have to hope it'll not be during an important fight. Just getting this out of my stomach. This is not a negative review per se, I still think Terraria is an amazing game (look at my playtime!), but this ♥♥♥♥ is seriously pissing me off.Show moreShow less
