Good game, but the devs / publishers are the prime example of everything that's wrong with exclusivity in today's digital age. First the game launched exclusively on PS4 and PSVR , this is fine imo as many games are console exclusives and that's what separates the console ecosystem from the PC space. Then the game launched on PC , but exclusively on Epic Games Store and get this it still used SteamVR for its VR mode lol. If you thought the exclusivity train stopped there i got news for ya, it then relaunched as Tetris Effect Connected with a Multiplayer mode but exclusive to Xbox Systems and the Windows Store, this also disabled Remote Play for paying Playstation Customers due to *cough cough* contractual reasons. And now finally it launches on Steam and tries to incentivize Steam users into buying the game and getting the "Digital Deluxe" edition for free as part of their launch offer ( 4th launch lmao ). This edition contains nothing of importance in the game itself as it provides a bunch of songs and a few steam avatar walls and desktop walls which anyone can find with a quick google search. Its a damn shame really cuz the game itself is amazing and an out of the world experience in VR but i feel such practices shouldn't be supported by customers as, if it does sell well there is no guarantee the same s.h.i.t won't be pulled in future releases not only by these particular set of developers / publishers but all of them who encourage such practices and still end up with our hard earned money. Tetris Effect: Connected is broken on Deck, and the devs are ignoring the community on the problem and how it can be fixed. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1003590/discussions/0/595161397134199416/?ctp=7 The fact the game still has Verified Status would be comical, if it didn't encourage more people to spend money on a game that has been borked and subsequently abandoned by the devs. An update back in 2025 stopped the game running on higher settings (which it had been able to do without issue previously.) The community identified the cause, and even sent evidence to the dev team, only to be told they should just play on lower settings and no fix would be made available. Don't buy this game, even on a good sale. In fact, don't buy anything from an unreliable, gaslighting dev like this one. You never know when they'll completely ♥♥♥♥ up, break and abandon another game, just like this one. *NOTE: If you have bought the game, are playing on Steam Deck and NOT getting the 60FPS at HIGH settings that you SHOULD be getting, read through the thread above to see how to rollback to the version that played flawlessly before the devs broke it!* Edit: I'm going to update this review once a month, until the game gets fixed (if ever...) just so it doesn't get buried. I suggest everyone facing similar issues does the same! Update: July 24th 2026 - Last week, the devs put out an 'update' to fix the issues with Tetris Effect on Steam Deck. That 'update' was simply rolling back the game to the version that the community had told was the last version that worked. No acknowledgement they had made a mistake. No apology for ignoring the problems for 9 months. No apology for gaslighting gamers and saying the problems we'd faced were caused by us. No thanks to the community that had identified the issue, and gave them the solution, 9 months ago. And that's why I won't be changing my recommendation for this game. Does it work on Steam Deck? Yes. Is it a great game? Definitely. But actions and attitudes matter, IMHO, and the way the devs behind this game have behaved is simply unacceptable. So no, I don't recommend you buy this game, nor any other made by thiks developer. The gaming industry already has enough issues without further supporting underserving teams like this.Show moreShow less

15 July: Enhance published a fix that essentially rolls back the broken TetrisEffect-Win64-Shipping.exe to the pre September 2025 build, thus you no longer need to downgrade yourself. Keeping the review negative for now, because I am still sour that they took 10 month for a roll back of a broken update. In the meantime I verified (thanks to Falkentyne's instructions in community thread that explain how to downgrade to pre September 2025 build) that indeed the September 2025 update caused the performance regression (which brought no noticeable changes, should have been "localisation/text changes" according to developer feedback). If you really want to check out this game, you should be prepared to downgrade for performance, but make sure to leave a negative review so that eventually developers might look into it again (e.g., before the update you could have the game on high settings without stutters in main menu). --- Original review from 9th February 2026 --- This game used to run great on steam deck and I was on my way to getting all achievements and then recommending it. However, this game does no longer work great at all, now the developers recommend setting everything to minimum which makes the game ugly. And still it is too unresponsive, has occasional stutters that would prevent you from beating it. And the worst part is that the developers do not seem to care about this issue at all, it took them multiple month for a reply that basically said that yesterday's (AMD) driver update may fix the issue while simultaneously saying that the issue is not there?! Also they basically ignore almost all post and instead say that one should open support tickets, which they then also ignore. They could at least use the steam beta branch feature to seamlessly allow downgrading versions, but they do not do it. Developers/Publishers: 0/10 Game: 4/10 (judged at minimum settings (ugly) and still not running smooth) Summary: This game does NOT run great on steam deck, you have to change to minimum settings, disable vsync and then it is playable but not enjoyable, certainly not worth its price.Show moreShow less

The game is beautiful. It's absolutely breathtaking, and visually, this is the greatest Tetris experience you will have by far. However, you might be wondering why I didn't recommend this game. I'm not your typical Tetris player. I struggle because sometimes it takes me extra time to process information. I had to play on the lowest difficulty, and even then, there were many, and I mean many, levels that forced the player to go at ridiculously fast speeds that are definitely not suitable for beginners with no option to turn it off. I played through Journey mode on the lowest difficulty with the hope of playing through each of the levels at a leisurely pace while still enjoying the beautiful gameplay. Most levels were okay, but there were some that had the player trying to sort and place blocks at speeds that were almost inconceivable. Imagine doing absolutely perfect for the majority of an unskippable level only for the speed to increase exponentially and cause you to make a bunch of errors that completely ruin the level's progress and forces you to start from scratch. Now, imagine having to do this multiple times to the point of anger and frustration from the constant repetition. This was, unfortunately, my experience with this version of Tetris. Until they add more accessibility options or at least a way to control the pacing more, I can't recommend the game. Other than that, the game is fantastic for what its worth, and if this is an obstacle you're willing to overcome, then I recommend giving it a try.Show moreShow less
I bought this for my son to exercise his weaker eye with eyepatch therapy as its hard to get him to want to be consistent with amblyopia stuff. I can finally get him to use it fairly willingly as the game has nice music and good visuals. However, the game seems to make my computer run a bit too hard for the graphics that it displays, so it doesn't seem to have the best optimization. Also this version of tetris will spoil anything I ever play in the future lol. It's really that cool!Show moreShow less
It's worth maybe 10-15$... But definitely not 45$.Show moreShow less
