Our Verdict
If you plan to spend a dozen or so hours on it, The Crew Motorfest will reward you. The early pacing is brisk, the driving feels solid, and Oʻahu’s sunshine, bays, and nightlife are genuinely magnetic. It’s very good at creating that “just one more race” impulse—even if you know this open-world festival structure isn’t exactly new, you’ll still want to try another coastal route or switch to a car that catches your eye.
But if you want to treat it as a long-term open-world racing main course, the problems will gradually show. Compared with a benchmark like Forza Horizon 5, it borrows a proven framework without fully matching its content density, sustained sense of discovery, or overall identity. As a result, the experience follows a very familiar curve: a strong opening, a decent middle, and then a late game sustained mostly by your own enthusiasm for cars and scenery.
So, is it worth the time? Yes—but only with the right expectations. If you see it as a stylishly packaged racing weekend getaway with appealing scenery and dependable handling, you’ll probably be satisfied; if you expect it to be the new peak of its genre, disappointment comes easily. It isn’t an empty seat. It’s just still a few substantial dishes short of being the “Motorfest” its name promises.
One-line recommendation: Enjoy the scenery first, then decide whether it’s worth staying longer.

First of all, yea, I agree that ubisoft is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ firm, but in this review i want only to speak about the game itself, not the publisher. First of all I would like to introduce you to my "experience" in racing games: - Forza Horizon 1 - around 30hrs - Forza Horizon 2 - something like 2-5hrs, i had it on xbox 360 and broke the disc - Forza Horizon 3 - 46hrs - Forza Horizon 4 - 291hrs - Forza Horizon 5 - 480hrs - Forza Motorsport 7 - 26hrs - NFS Payback - 36hrs - NFS Heat - 86hrs - NFS Unbound - 31hrs - The Crew 2 - 370hrs - The Crew Motorfest - 100hrs Some of the games hrs don't mach my steam cause I also played them on xbox From all that games I can say that before the lauch od the crew motorfest i was a really big fan of forza games, but after i started playing motorfest i changed my mind. For me, the crew motorfest is now only racing game that im not getting bored in, the way that steering works in that game is just perfect for me. I feel like every car's steering is unique and sometimes I just like to start the game and just drive various cars. What's the driving physics? I would say maybe something between forza horizon and nfs games, more targeted into arcade, and personally I really enjoy that driving. Next, I would like to mention the grind in the game - yea, that game is really grindy, especially when you want to earn perfect parts, i personally like the grind, but i also understand people who dont play much and it can be tiring for them. Lastly I want to say that everything that i wrote is my PERSONAL opinion. And sry for my english, its not my main language. If you want to discuss something just write in the coments ill probably reply. Update: after another 200hrs still enjoying the game, nothing changed at allShow moreShow less
With Motorfest, it's not the cars you're renting, it's the game.Show moreShow less
game yes ubisoft no (maybe)Show moreShow less
After axing Crew 1 & removing it from your library, Ubisoft changed their EULA to contain a clause informing you that you do NOT own the game, nor that you have ever been SOLD a product, but that you merely "subscribed" to a LICENSE and Ubisoft reserves the right to pull the plug on the game at any time. I just played 100 hours of this game, so, let me be honest: My rating is 8/10. This is a fun game, if you like Forza Horizon 5 (FH5 for short), you will like The Crew Motorfest(TCM for short), if you play too much FH5 like me(900 hours), and burned out of FH5, TCM is perfect break from FH5 But overall FH5 still a better game than TCM, if you haven’t played FH5 and TCM, I would say go play FH5. The best thing about TCM is the map. It has a better map than FH5, the city area is much better and bigger than FH5, and the atmosphere is more vivid, color is more flashy. I like the map very much. The main content is playlists, every playlist will take you 3 hours to complete(including races and challenges), and in the early game you can’t fast travel, so it will take longer. There are 18 playlists so far, so just finishing the playlist is a lot of content. The PVP race is called Grand Race, and the type of race is decided by server not player, so if you don’t like to drive drifting car, too bad, wait for 10 minutes for new race rotation. But honestly, I don’t like the grand race, it's a 28 players race, it’s chaotic. I thought the FH5 race had too many rammer, until I play TCM, FH5 players are so civilized and polite compared to TCM players. Because there isn’t any penalty for ramming and crashing to wall, so everyone just full speed ram to each other and crash to the wall instead of braking and taking the turn. The race is not enjoyable. Graphically, TCM is good but not FH5 good. FH5 has better car body reflection, and car is more detailed. I don’t know why, but somehow FH5 looks like higher resolution to TCM despite me playing 1440p on both games. NPC car in TCM is joke, NPC car model so bad, it looks like PS2 game. TCM has intense color filter. In the night time, game looks very blue, but everything is orange in the dawn. Different color filter for different time, it’s annoying, I want to see the real color not yellow, green or blue. Car handling. FH5 is better. Most TCM’ cars are oversteering, they drifting everytime you take a corner. Only those meta cars have firm grip when cornering. The Off-road car handling like crap, unpredictable, either uncontrollably oversteering or super understeering you have to hit the hand brake to make the turn. FH5 off road control is so much, so much better. Man, I write a lot, nobody read this..what’s wrong with me. I am wrapping it up: fun game, worth the money, especially when 50% discount. But FH5 is better.Show moreShow less
