Quinfall developers banning players for discussing monetization here’s what happened to me I wanted to share my experience with Quinfall’s dev moderation and the discussion around monetization in the game. A few hours ago, I posted a comment explaining how VCoins (the game’s premium currency) can give players advantages. Almost immediately, I was permanently banned from the Discord and steam discussions . No warning, no temporary mute just a permaban. Dev stated I had been banned for “creating a perception of pay-to-win.” Apparently, my argument was considered strong enough that it triggered a ban. I want to clarify why this is concerning. About discussing opinions: Firstly, there’s no rule against sharing opinions on game systems or comparing them to other games. Players should be able to discuss mechanics freely without fear of permanent bans. Quinfall includes systems that can accelerate progression for paying players: -Premium features allow faster resource gathering. -Some farming mechanics are limited by world space and real-time hours, but Premium gives measurable advantages. -Weekly tokens prevent items from breaking, and these tokens were integrated into RNG systems. These are concrete examples of mechanics that give paying players an advantage, which is what many people describe as “pay-to-win." About moderation: The fact that discussing these mechanics resulted in a permanent ban feels concerning, players should be able to share factual information about how systems work and transparency about monetization and progression is important for the community. I’m not trying to troll or attack the game; I just like to talk, debate, and gather opinions from other players and I want people to be informed about this kind of completely incomprehensible practice.Show moreShow less
The launch was rough to say the least. However, as the day progressed it improved quite a bit. Most of the negative reviews have to do with the server issues. I really think there is a huge game here. Is it polished? nope. Is it clunky? yep. First Impressions: -Ive made money on the AH. -Grinded mobs. -Upgraded gear -Felt power increase -Did a dungeon. -Arenas. 3v3v3 -Open world pvp. -Obtained land. -Working on making a ship. -Eager to get to the world bosses. -Made friends. Made enemies. -Had fun with VoIP --*UPDATE* 40 Hours In-- || SPOILERS AHEAD || Ocean Content: -Made the boat. Explored the ocean with friends. There are sea monsters, underwater treasure rooms. -Pirated Rafts -Did some mining on a huge sea turtle. -Went to an island that had - There is a world boss in the ocean called the Kraken. -Next objective is to get cannons to fight the sea monsters. As well as harpoons for whales. Main Content: - PvE grind is very BDO-esque. Combat for Staff has been fun. Can AoE grind very good. - I have not played in any channel other than the PvP one. The PvP has been great in the open world. Fighting over grind spots, and the added benefit of bonus XP. - Still progressing through the MSQ. This is as basic as it can get for questing. But hey, its here. And it takes you through all the content available. - The Map is HUGE. Can take hours to traverse it. This can be good or bad depending on the gamer. - Still making money on the AH. Mainly selling gear that drops and Higher Tiered Horses that you have to tame. - Arenas are always 3v3v3. They are instanced PvP. They keep this somewhat fair by level restrictions. However, if your in an arena at lv 30 you can run into lv 39s that have more gear and will feel unkillable. Server Issues: - Still rough around prime times. There are several bugs including mobs not dropping loot, sporadic disconnects, ms spikes, and desync. However it does seem to improve and the devs have been in constant communication about fixes and restarts. - Would like to see Login Queues to help with players being able to get into the server in prime times. TLDR: I can say so far that although it is rough around the edges and has several issues, I am enjoying my time with the game. Looking forward to sinking many more hours into this.Show moreShow less
After 887 hours played, I feel confident in writing a review. Discord banned on 4/6/26 for calling out the general manager on a blatant lie. Not even in a disrespectful manner. Game account banned at the same time, without any violation of ToS, in fact I hadn't even played in a week. Steam should really look into this game team's practices. Taking peoples money and then banning them for expressing criticism is a wildly poor practice. This "General Manager" went rounds with the entire community for hours to follow, in which the majority pointed out the childish and egotistical behavior, unprofessionalism etc. Many were banned on the spot. The game at release had promise, but I struggled to make sense of one single decision made after that point. It's believed that the game is built on Atavism, which the people behind Atavism market as a platform for building MMORPGs for those who don't "code", so take from that what you will. Despite overwhelming community feedback regarding the "Whale-ability" of the game, nothing is addressed. It's heavily pay-to-win. I held the role of community supporter in their discord for most of my time there, and even had multiple voice chats with the team, in which they asked for help, but then showed no signs of accepting any of the help given. I'm not one for wasting my time. I could write much more, but I have wasted enough time on this. Purchase at your own peril.Show moreShow less
I read the negative reviews and sometimes I wonder if I'm even playing the same game as those users. This game costs £10 and is developed by less than 10 people... yet it gets trashed when unfairly directly compared to BDO and New World as if it had an equal $400m budget.. Out of the box there's hundreds of hours of gameplay here, quests, story, professions, horse breeding, farming, sea combat, base building, dungeons ... taking inspiration from both BDO and New World its fair to say there are similarities. It's 1.0, it will need a few quality of life patches, but it's doing the genre well and hitting the ground running with actual content.. which is more to be said than other AAA titles.. There's pay for convenience which is no different to AAA titles like Diablo, (extra storage for £) and cosmetics from the in game store, but there's no P2W beyond genre standards. Sure temporary VIP gives buffs that will help gathering speed and naturally this gives a progression edge to those willing to use the cash shop.. exactly like BDO, but you cant buy a game breaking stats sword from the store and win at pvp I'm pleased to see this game has grown from negative to mixed reviews, and I hope to see this trend grow to positive, the dev's are going in the right direction and seem to be listening to user feedback with daily server maintenance and balancing patches If you like the open world mmo genre for £10 its worth a punt and I look forward to seeing it grow. .. and again its important to remember, Amazon the biggest company in the world closed New World after 2 years after consistent horrendous bugs and glitches... I really think its unfair for users to put this on the same pedestal as 400m budget AAA titles Loot filters like Poe2 would be a great addition, but for now devs are focusing on day 1 patches and rightly so solid 7.4/10 100 hours on record and growing Edited some minor wording*Show moreShow less
The moderators/devs of this game will ban you for anything they deem "Unfavorable" this includes talking about monetization in discord and/or in game public chats. If someone is killing mobs and you even remotely touch that persons mobs you will get banned. If you say anything bad about the game anywhere you will get banned. There was an instance a guild member was trying to help out a new guy to learn the game and he got banned for giving out too much information..... Like seriously? This game has a very small player base to begin with, but sure yeah lets ban our player base so we have less people to play our game and keep it alive. This is the worst moderation i have ever seen in a game ever. Dont buy it unless you want to get banned for doing litterally anything and throw your money down the drainShow moreShow less
Definitely worth $10, but it's not a game you are gonna play for more than 3-4 weeks. Then again there are no games out now worth playing for over a month. Games just keep getting made for lower IQ's, and if there is any kind of learning curve people whine and cry. I enjoyed my time in the game, and I honestly think it has potential, please don't listen to the whiners that say devs don't listen, most of those people have delusions of grandeur and throw hissy fits for any reason. Buy it, play it, and form your own opinion and just keep checking back because the bones are good and that's what I do...lolShow moreShow less
Do not waste your time or money on this project. The management of this game is a disaster. I was banned without any valid reason. When I tried to reach out to support, here is what happened: They replied with a generic "EULA copy-paste" stating they have no obligation to provide information. Immediately after that, they DELETED my support ticket to hide their incompetence and close the case without a manual review. When I tried to ask about this suspicious behavior in their official Discord, they instantly BANNED me there as well. The support team is literally deleting evidence of their own mistakes and silencing anyone who asks questions. If you encounter a bug or a false-positive ban, don't expect help—expect to be ghosted and blocked everywhere. A team that treats its community like this doesn't deserve your support. STAY AWAY.Show moreShow less
Despite the negative comments from people wanting the game to be something different, it needs judging it on what it actually is, which is a solid game. It harks back to the older style EQ system, where the grind is real. Yes, the graphics could be better, the design could be better, but the game is actually good. There are no real bugs, no bait and switch items, no scamming players, regular updates, decent gameplay and a solid, stable performance. Also, I've no idea what people are on about regarding the game being P2W. Everything in the shop you can earn in game. There is nothing in there that gives an advantage over a non-paying player. What it does is allows people with disposable income to keep up with those that have more time. Quinfall suffers from not being as good as people would like, but it is no where near as bad as reviews make out. The game can often be got purchased sale, and it is a nice buy, and something you can play with friends without breaking the bank. Even at full price, it will give great value for money. Do I recommend it? Yes. I have had my moneys-worth from it, for sure, and am looking forwards to seeing what comes with release 1.0. *edit* Release 1.0 is here and the rollout was fairly painless, the main issue being not anticipating the number of players(AOC probably helped with that). Towns can be a little laggy, but they are(and have) added in more servers. Everything said in my main review is still relevant. I am enjoying my time here,Show moreShow less
refunded due to shady developer, the selling of Unity Asset Store items as Cosmetics which is against the Unity ToS and just being a temu Black Desert Online. The combat is also straight from the unity store.Show moreShow less
