“Lee and Clementine's emotional arc anchors weighty moral choices in a story-focused adventure, though technical instability and simplified interactivity undermine the interactive experience.”
Our Verdict
This is an experiment in storytelling through game format, and the experiment succeeded. It proved that video games can make people empathize, agonize, and remain unsettled long after the ending, just like prestige TV dramas. The story of Lee and Clementine deserves to be remembered.
But as a "game," its interactivity is too weak. You're "watching" more than "playing" most of the time, and those QTEs and choices are just means to keep you engaged. If you can accept this "interactive movie" positioning, it's a worthwhile experience. If you expect the gameplay depth of traditional games, it'll feel more like an animated series with button prompts.
Technically, it has aged. Graphics, optimization, and mechanical design are all stuck at a level from ten years ago, and the definitive collection didn't do any substantial remastering. But good stories don't expire. Those moments when you have to make choices, those characters' fates, those regrets you can't undo—these things still have power today.
Is it worth 40 hours? If you want an emotionally intense post-apocalyptic story, yes. If you want a "fun" game, probably not.

This is a good game, combining all seasons in 1. But... there are some stuff that i don't like. First, You cannot "pick" chapter from the episodes. SO, in the previous installments, each episode has chapters (It's 4 or 6 chapters if i recall). Which means if you screw up your choice, you have to redo the whole episode. The second one is more of a bug/glitch. If you already played the episode in 1 of the save files, when you tried to replay it, the choices will remain the same. The game didn't rewrite your choices so that you have to play on a new save files. The third one is you can't copy your save files to another one past season 1. So if you screw up on episode 4 season 2, you have to replay the whole season on another save file FFS!!!! Just buy the game separately... Buy each season separately. It'll benefit you a lot. Even though it's more expensive, believe me...Show moreShow less
The saddest thing about this game is never being able to play it again without knowing the story.Show moreShow less
These are amazing games but the 50$ price tag isn't worth it. I would recommend it if it was 30$ maybe even 40$. But 50$ is too much.Show moreShow less

Oh, "The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series"—a title so grand, yet a game so profoundly underwhelming. If ever there were a digital equivalent of watching paint dry, this would be it. The story? A meandering trek through the apocalypse, featuring characters with the depth of a puddle. Lee, our illustrious protagonist, is a convicted criminal turned babysitter for Clementine, a child whose primary role is to tug at your heartstrings with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Choices in this game are about as impactful as shouting into the void. No matter your decisions, the narrative trudges along its predetermined path, laughing in the face of player agency. It's almost impressive how effectively it renders your input meaningless. Emotional depth? More like emotional manipulation. The game shamelessly exploits every trope in the book to elicit a tear or two, but ends up feeling as genuine as a three-dollar bill. In conclusion, "The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series" is a masterclass in tedium. Save yourself the agony and let the zombies have their way with you; it's a far more entertaining fate than enduring this interactive disaster.Show moreShow less

Can't import saves from standalone games. I have NO interest replaying the previous seasons again. They should at least make a save generator where you can pick the previous outcomes instead of making it random.Show moreShow less
