Dear CD Projekt Red, This game is awesome, it really is. As a fan of The Witcher 3's Gwent, this greatly expanded that minigame into a full fledged game full with rich stories. As someone who live in Indonesia however, I am very disappointed by your corporate move on raising the regional price by an insane 300%. Fortunate for me, I bought this game when it was 150k IDR, and now it is near 450k IDR. As mentioned before, I love this game it's freaking awesome, but 450k IDR is too much of an asking price for us living in third world countries. If you wanted the game to cost that much in the first place, why don't you set it at that price from the beginning? It's just very sad and disappointing that a Game Company which I and many other gamer loves and looked up to, have slowly turned into greedy money loving corporations like EA. This game is very difficult for me to recommend because I don't think the crazy price justify the value of the content within. I wish I can say money is just paper, but we all know that's not what it is, CD Projekt Red, please listen to all your fans. Cheers!Show moreShow less

Great game, but it bugs me that I checked out Gwent after playing this and now you're locked out from getting rewards for playing and buying this game, because you would have to buy it from the GoG platform to get those. This also means theres advertisement for buying it in the other game even though you own it, and a group of "contracts" or achievements you simply cannot get unless you repurchase it from GoG. For this reason alone I do not recommend this game as it stands from this platform. Its a solvable problem that the publishers do not wish to fix, and it ends up hurting the customers.Show moreShow less
I like to think of this game as what a Telltale game should have been. Real decisions that have real consequences. Allies who leave you due to the actions you take, betrayal due to dumb decisions. All of which only happen due to the choices you can make. But instead of quicktime events, you play some games of Gwent. Some really difficult decisions as well, ones that i had to seriously stop and think about. A couple of stupidly easy ones as well, but i can forgive that. Also some fantastic tongue in cheek references to other games/pop culture that i had some laugh out loud moments. You also get to upgrade and customise your deck as you earn new cards along the way and they do that well. Save a <random character so as no spoiler> and convince him to journey with you? You know have access to his cool card (and trust me, there are some really cool cards). But piss him off so he leaves, well his card is no longer available to you. I'm actually convinced ive missed a possible card or two due to some story decisions. If there was one thing i think the game lacks, its risk. Some people have complained that its too easy, even on the hardest difficulty, which i think has some truth to it, but even that i dont think is the real problem. The real problem is that if you lose a fight, it doesnt let you continue, you just retry till you win. So if the game asks you, do you engage in a risky fight to save some of your trapped soldiers or do you leave them to their fate, you obviously would always choose the risky fight, as there is no punishment to losing the fight. You just keep retrying till you win. It does take the weight away from a bunch of decisions and i also think it takes away that feeling if triumph you should get when you win the difficult fight and save the troops. You literally risked nothing. However, There are more than enough difficult decisions that have nothing to do with combat that you will still love this game. Not sure how they could fix this at this point, since the story is already fairly detailed with branching decisions. Maybe something to keep in mind for the next game. Give us fights that if we lose affect the story badly. Make it feel riskier for us to always choose the better path, so we are tempted to choose the easier one and therefore feel good when we succeed the hard one, or feel the consequences when we fail the harder path. Is it worth the cost? I honestly think so, I haven't regret the money ive spent so far. Some people complaining its too short for what it costs (based on the 30 hour estimate, not them having actually played it), but for me its a really good quality 30 hours and i wish more games would take note. People complaining about 30 dollars for 30 hours are the reason Dragon Age Inquisition had 60 hours of useless grindy soul destroying fetch quests instead of being a streamlined, awesome game.Show moreShow less
I'm actually enjoying the game, but I think it deserves a negative review for a simple detail that it's really bothering me. And it's the fact that, the shiniest looking chests, harder to find, scattered around the map, always give you rewards for a different game than the one you're currently playing... like wtf?? That's the worst decision I've seen in a game ever. It's ok to put some little goodies around, if you wanna tickle me to try Gwent, but not this crap. There's even some of this chests that need you to pay resources to get to them... just to earn, nothing, over and over, because I have no intention of playing the other game. It's absolutely stupid, and I had to say it.Show moreShow less
*Note* I have played this game through GOG for more than 60+ hours and complete almost every achievement This is the best RPG game I've ever played Unlike others RPG games where the "end" of the world is happening and you must become the hero to save the day, Thronebreaker are different, but better. Thronebreaker start in the middle of a war, you will play as Meve, the queen of Lyria and Rivia. The point of the game is exploring and fighting for what you own, defending your country and eliminate risks out of it. Not only because of the war that make this game amazing, but also the perspective of people about the war. The story also contain love, loyalty, betrayal and forgiveness. Each of your decision creates a decent changes to the story itself and the ending. Throughout the Journey, wise decision creates allies and bad once may make them leave the army. Becareful with what you choose, being a nice guy not always the answer to everything. Sometimes, blood must takes blood. Becareful with your decision, once it is made, you can't change it. Unless you start a whole new run. Thronebreaker story is enormous and well-developed, it even better than The Witcher series. About the battle system, the story battle are great, each of them are unique and contains the storyline throughtout the battle. So, you won't want to miss a single second of it. The battle system and the story battle seem to be good, but they are pretty easy for those familiar with card game. So, I reccomend you to play at bonebreaker difficulty. Puzzle System is one of the best part of the game. These puzzle are well-created and contain lots of creativity. I always love how they describe a beer-drinking competition between Gascon and a dwarf as a card game. Music is mind blowing. Sometimes, despite the victory waiting ahead, I just put it there and enjoy these epic music. This game worth every penny of me, I already bought 2 copies of it. 1 from GOG and the other from steam. Well, this game toally deserve that. What are you waiting? take out your wallet and buy a copy of this masterpiece.Show moreShow less
I really, really wanted to enjoy this game. I love gwent, big fan of the Witcher series, even read all the books. Pros: it's got some gwent mechanics, a bit of narrative world-building, and hypothetically, secrets and looting. Neutral: The puzzles. Honestly, I hated all of them. And I really enjoy puzzle games. but it's deciphering mystery mechanics based on repeat losing which is just garbage. Cons: None of what I wrote for positives are actually valid. The gwent isn't. It's a bastardized version where you are shoehorned into a very narrow play style. Add to that the incredibly slow pacing (and I mean glacial storytelling, movement speed at a crawl, and no options to just stop the dialogue) and the game went from interesting to anathema in about 2h. I considered returning it, but I wanted (hoped, really) that it would improve. I bought it on a 50% off sale, and even then, 5h into the game, I feel like i've overspent by ... a lot. This is a $5-10 game, tops. At that price point I could maybe enjoy it... but probably not. There are no controls for screen size - it either forces a non-adjustable windowed version, or a full-screen. No speed options. You have to play through the tutorial section EVERY. Single. game.! If you can pick it up for 75% off, maybe. Nuts.Show moreShow less

I don't get it. I loved Witcher 3, I liked Witcher 2 and Gwent, but I am bored to death by Thronebreaker. Every fight is a puzzle with special rules giving you no reason to deck-build or use any cards you pick up. The writing is melodramatic, the story is dull and familiar. Check the map, get the pick-up, check the map, get the pick-up, unremarkable story bit, solve fight-puzzle, check the map, get the pick-up, check the map. It's a slog to play. I want to like it. I'd even prefer to hate it, but I'm almost completely indifferent and playing it feels like wasting my time. I wanted a well-written RPG, but Gwent. Thronebreaker is none of those things, it's not even Gwent. And if you buy Thronebreaker on Steam you can't use the Gwent rewards you find in-game. Seriously? Everyone seems to adore this game, every part of it, and I just.... I don't get it.Show moreShow less
