So far exceeding my expectations as far as quality. Works on Steam Deck Oled but ofc graphics and performance take a hit 20s-30s fps, maybe someone else could get better performance. Start desktop mode/proton exp/ FSR/low settings/med distance/cap 30. Here are my very early impressions (subject to change). What I love: Looks and feels like Titan Quest but updated Looks amazing maxed out graphics and runs well (7800 3XD, 7900 XTX, 32GB Ram) Can use mouse, WASD, or controller Multiplayer is available for testing on experimental branch (unstable) Great voice acting, intro & music Fantastic animations Nice armor models Preset character selection with great variety A new rarity color chart that I prefer (option for legacy) Things I don't like: No pet build yet (There are 4 cookie cutter masteries Fire, Ice & Lightning, Warrior & Rogue types) Login not where you logged out but at waypoint Boring classes What I'd like to see: I have always wanted to have a character in an rpg do water magic as damage (Diablo Immortal doesn't count). Oh, no! No, no, no, no! Please don't bring soulslike rotten formula to TQ! Please don't make constant dodging and rolling around the only viable playstyle. It may be an option for a light-armoured assassin, but a huge guy in a full plate with a shield should be able to tank anything, maybe except for the final boss. I hope it is still time to change the course. Edit: Will come back and try it again after the full release.Show moreShow less
Let's just get this out of the way first, this is a very small section of the game which only includes the first act, four classes and no real endgame systems other than respawning bosses for loot. If this doesn't sound like enough content then this is not worth the price. However, if you're anything like me and you're just happy to get another arpg to play then it's not a bad idea to jump in now, with the discounted price and just being able to play a new entry in the titan quest franchise was enough for me to start playing, and I'm happy I did, if this is just the early days then im so excited to see what this game ends up being when it gets fully released. The setting is incredible and super unique, graphics are decent enough and build variety seems quite deep and engaging, this probably does sit just under last epoch in terms of complexity but the fun builds you can already make is going to be enough to keep me around for a long time. With the devs saying no microtransactions and content drops planned every 3 months I think this game could be something special, it's definitely too early to say yet but it's left a very positive impression on me so far and I'm so excited to follow this games development.Show moreShow less
Honestly, it's just boring. There aren't many skills, the skills aren't really fun to use, monster density is low, player movement and story progression is slow, quests are tedious... The game looks good, but I'm only a few hours in and there's not anything to excite me and keep me playing. The whole "exploration" thing gets old fast. What's around the corner of the cliff? Spoiler: it's another chest with another common item! Cooldowns are also too common and too long. Let mana/energy be your governing resource. If you turn time into a resource, everything becomes way too slow and you're just watching your cooldown timers.Show moreShow less
In an era of life-service arpgs that shower you with loot and play more like a spreadsheet Titan Quest 2 is a brave and bold message to the old-school ARPG formula fans. Beautiful graphics, eerie soundtrack, combat that has weight to it and loot that matters, Grab it. Now.Show moreShow less
So early vote says that boss fights are more like Elden Ring than Titan Quest and that's a major downer. I don't want to play a game where I need perfect reflexes to win fights. I'm over 60.Show moreShow less
A take from an 35 years old dad gamer. My initial feeling of the game is really nice. I saw some people complainig about the slow pace of the game. That is actually the thing I really like here. Reminds me of original TQ. Great graphics, no technical difficulties at all (at least not yet). Fighting is engaging and fun. Its got this "Ancient Greece" vibe, like its predecessor. Will update as I play more. But for now with this price tag - great experiance with huge promises. As promised, I have finished available content and done, what I think, are most of side quests. I also explored almost entire map. My feelings toward this game did not change at all - it feels and plays great. The downsides I noticed: - performance indeed needs some tuning. I had no major problems or crashes, but the game slows down from time to time when a lot is happening (i5 13600k, 32 GB DDR5, RTX3080Ti 12 GB and GPD Win Mini 8840u with 16 GB RAM, graphical setting at max on PC and on low for GPD). But it was really occasional in my case, absolutely not a dealbreaker. - Currently, the game is short, but I was expecting that. It took me close to 10h to finish it. - Some animations are not polished (like ladder climbing). Overall I am glad I bought the game. It will just sit and wait for further adventures to come. I have really high hopes for this game and the initial impression does indeed promise that it will deliver.Show moreShow less
Calling a game "early access" is a modern way of getting people's money for an unfinished product. There needs to be at least minimum requirements when a game can be called "early access". This early access scheme feels too much in tq2, after around 3-4hrs gaming you can simply log out and forget about the game for months, this is not how gaming is supposed to be.Show moreShow less
From the very beginning, you can feel that Titan Quest II has kept the spirit of the original, which is very important for many fans — including me. The atmosphere is mythological, mysterious, and a bit nostalgic, now shown in a beautiful and fresh way. The game world is rich, full of details, and truly nice to look at. And the music... sometimes I just stop and listen. A big plus is that the optimization is much better compared to the demo. The game runs more smoothly, feels more responsive, and is simply more fun to play. For an Early Access version, it already feels like a strong base for something bigger and more complete. If this is just a small taste of what the full release will bring, then we are in for something special. Even now, the game brings a lot of joy and gives me high hopes. Big thumbs up from me.Show moreShow less
TLDR: Game's simply not good enough. Coming from the legacy of TQ1 and GD, this game simply feels like a dumbed down mobile game. The whole design of the skill tree is simply bad. It's extremely simple to the point that it looks like a lame mobile game. Passives are boring, skill modifiers are boring, everything is boring. Game really doesn't feel like combining stuff to find wacky builds. Not to mention that the builds feel literally same-y. Skills and passives feel basically identical, with a different color flavour. Not to mention the fact that you can kinda finish your skill tree fast as hell, then it's basically "where progression?". The maps, while beautiful in their own right, are literally empty. No enemy variation, extremely few enemies overall (this is an ARPG, where's my 20-30+ mob packs?), very few interesting random objectives to do on the map (just run for your main quest and kill whatever you find along the way, that's it). Feels like the whole budget was splurged on the art, then they remembered they actually had to create a game. Itemization is so utterly boring. Good items drop rarely, epics are boring, while some of them are stated in such a way that it makes 0 sense for the build it's meant to fit in. While mobs and items can be somewhat easily fixed, the skill tree needs a rework, from the ground up. Unless it's expanded by at least 30%, the game will basically leave everyone with a "that's it" feeling, at the end of the day. And the game needs more class variation.Show moreShow less
