Ubisoft's Chris Early spoke out against Valve's PC digital store, Steam, saying its business model is "unrealistic." He added, "It doesn't reflect where the world is today in terms of game distribution." Welcome back to the realistic current world ubisoft. Think twice for AC Mirage.Show moreShow less
I understand. You found paradise in EGS. You had a good trade, you made a good living. Tim Sweeney protected you and there was Ubisoft Connect. So you didn't need a friend like Steam. Now you come and you say "Steam players, give me your money." But you don't even ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to suggest even the idea of Steam Achievements. You come into our house on the same week the media says that you have financial problems and you ask us to give you money - without Steam Achievements.Show moreShow less
I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2022 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.Show moreShow less

Game seemed fun until I tried to play and got the message that my computer was unable to connect to Ubisoft servers. I play the game single player only. I don't play PVP. I don't purchase things off the online store. I don't care if ubisoft servers are up, down or sideways. I want to play the game I purchased without needing a 24/7 connection to a corporate server. It adds no positive benefit to me, the customer. Garbage. Also, the tutorials and menus are a freakin' nightmare. Edit: Two more fat red thumbs down as when I attempted to reset my ubisoft password, the page ubitrash connect sends me to says invalid next url http://www.uplay.com. Just make games and stop being totally horrible at everything else. You're embarrassing yourselves.Show moreShow less

This game is finally on Steam so I can create a review. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is actually a good game. It's was a piece of turd, but with work it became a rough diamond. Only there are some things you must consider to get the best experience, or the experience that has me give this game a good review. You must set rules for yourself. And you need to take the time to set things up. First off I recommend Immersive Mode, it's more like Wildlands and it's not a looter shooter. It's the better way to play. If you like gear score ignore this review and play it how it was designed. HUD settings are important. Go into the hud and turn off most things. The only things you should keep are mission markers, reminders, health and ammo (optional), communication markers, input reminders (optional), Compass (optional) Don't use the minimap, don't use the markers above enemy heads. These trivialise the game, you'll run around without a care through outposts because you know where it's safe and where it isn't because you see all the enemies through walls. THIS will absolutely kill any fun you might have in a game like this. Detection clouds turned off is a bit difficult to get used to but trust me it's much better. It forces you to be aware of your surroundings and you'll have to make a decision on whether or not to shoot guards in your way. When these are on, you'll see the detection gauge and the decision is made for you. Don't get stuck up of failed stealth. Sometimes it will fail, and that's because you messed up most of the time. Embrace it, take of that suppressor and survive the shootout. Play the game without the guided way points, it's a lot more fun finding where to go rather than go to yellow dot. Play on Extreme. The game really isn't that hard even on extreme. You might fall under the illusion it's hard but really the AI is dumb and easy to manipulate, on top of that if you stick to cover and concealment you'll have no issues dealing with a combat alert. When stealth fails and you're in combat it should be engaging and slightly overwhelming. It's 1 or 4 against an entire base. The harder the difficulty the more tools you'll be forced to use. In any lower difficulty you'll be fine with just your trusty BB gun, but if you want to survive extreme using flashbangs, emp, gas grenades will definitely come in handy. If you find a cheesy mechanic, don't exploit it. Don't fast travel, don't spawn helicopters. Stealing vehicles, and staying immersed in the map will make the game much more interesting and immersive. For this I recommend Operation Motherland, it's a free DLC that doesn't have you move across the map constantly and is more suited to a no fast travel run. Hopefully that helps you try this game. I like it. There are things they could vastly improve of but it's a solid game to play with your friends, or even alone.Show moreShow less
"Okay ghosts, this is Ubisoft actual, stand by for transmission. Your next mission is to tell us the numbers at the front and back of dad's credit card!" - In-game dialogue from the first mission I bought this game for 12 dollars, and by God I have played it through, wringing every little bit of gameplay out of this, just like Ubisoft has tried to wring every last cent out of the consumers. I've played through as much of the game as possible, because 33% of the game, along with the actual ending, is locked behind a paywall. Yes - really. You can fight and kill the "last" boss almost immediately, which I did, and that means that the ending to the game consists of you fighting a regular drone that you've fought several times before, and that's it you're just done. The other evil character that was in the game from the get-go then calls you and does some "Well I guess it's just you and me now" - well if you pay the extra money to wrap up the story that is. They set it up to be paywalled from the very start - they hate you. In the final cutscene of the vanilla game your protagonist looks dumbly into the camera asking "What now?" before you're thrown back out into the world, well how about you actually have an ending prepared to the game that the consumer won't have to pay extra for? Since you know - they paid for the game in the first place. A pop up with "We need moar money in our piggy bank UwU :3" would've been less insulting than the ending, it's almost so brazen that I admire it. Almost. You see Ubisoft needs money since they must have spent at least $25 when they hired two voice actors from Fiverr that recorded their three lines in their own bathrooms. The lines being "That's all the information I have" with slight variations, which NPCs then answers in every single non-scripted encounter in the world when you interrogate them. So immersive that it feels like I'm actually there. Maybe the next 29.99 dollar DLC will give us actual voiced quests? There is much to complain about gameplay as well, but Ubisoft doesn't care, they want money, they don't want to produce good products, not anymore, so why even bother? For 12 bucks this game had its moments, but them wanting 60 bucks full price for a game where you'd have to purchase the ending separately is absolutely outrageous.Show moreShow less
