Wait for a sale. Very short game. Nice concept but lacks in depth and polish. Also i came here more for the Metroid-Vania elements and less for the rogue lite elements, trust me when i tell you that their are no Metroid-Vania elements worth mentioning.Show moreShow less
Saw this on Skill Up's "Put this on your radar" section. I'm glad I saw it. So far enjoying it. Plays like dead cells. Feels smooth and responsive. Still in early access and could do with a little polish but otherwise really good. Addictive and gives me that magic feeling you get when you want to play just one more time to push further after a death. Fun. Plays great on PC with high frame rates. Just tried it on Steam Deck. There are graphics settings with a quality setting specifically for the deck. However, I've found (so far) that I can crank up the settings with no detriment to the performance, although battery life is slightly impacted. I at least recommend low shadows as the game loses something without them. Love it.Show moreShow less
The controls for this are just so bad. You look at this and compare it to something like Dead Cells or Metroid: Dread and the gameplay is oriented so heavily around animation locked weapons and a really unresponsive dodge-dash. The roguelike/meta-progression elements are good but the 2D-Action elements are ass.Show moreShow less
A very fun Roguelike & Metroidvania game! Pros ⭐ Enemy attack & death animation ⭐ Player's character animation ⭐ Background music ⭐ Background scene ⭐ Enemy character design ⭐ Creativity in designing enemy abilities and attack mechanisms (the enemies in the game are fun to defeat!) ⭐ Boss fight ⭐ Character upgrades (character's passive abilities and upgrades that can be selected before entering a stage are fun to choose and manage) Neutral - Random Ability Cards (most of them don't have much effect on making the player stronger) - Some particle effects of weapons and abilities Cons (at the current state of the game) - UI (user interface such as menu, map, character status, etc) - Some bugsShow moreShow less
lack of responsiveness compare to dead cells, especially when using skills during normal attacks. beside, dodging from consecutive attacks seems impossible. the best part for me is combat animations, really like the style of he way characters fight. Will change review to positive if devs make the maneuverability smoother.Show moreShow less
I had been trying to decide on a metroidvania to scratch that itch...after roughly 2 days of research, I am so glad I decided on this game. Even in early access, I see the vision. The polish is pretty much there. Got it on sale, and would assume this is worth it at full price as well. Edit: After 7 hours, I can't recommend this game enough! It is EXACTLY what I was looking for, and it feels like it's going to be the Hades-type "Game of the year" contender when it's complete.Show moreShow less
This is not it, guys I'm a huge roguelike fan, played all the most "famous" here on Steam, but this game is almost good, but... Pros: Really nice graphics and art style The world/story seems interesting and somewhat original As far as I could see, there is a good amount of weapons/guns Cons: Not being able to pause a run in the middle of it is terrible, just terrible. Sometimes you just want to enter, play for 10 minutes, clear an area and go do something else (But you can't) The meta-progression is BAD, like slow as hell... There is almost NONE options to heal your character, which I thought it was a pretty weird design choice The combat sometimes can feel clunky, depending on the weapon/gun you are using and you get that feeling of unsatisfaction because it felt "unfair" (this never happened on Dead Cells on my exp, for example) When you enter a new area, the enemies are SO much stronger than the last area (and you're not) that feels crazy... Anyway, pretty good idea, but I feel it didn't really reach its potential (sadly)Show moreShow less
Trinity Fusion is a lot like Dead Cells, but with a more sci-fi theme and 3D models instead of pixel art. + Fighting is fast and attacks feel punchy, but it can be a little clunky if you time your attack incorrectly. + All the models and animations look great! + Lots of variation in enemies, really fun to fight them! + Abilities and powerups are nice, adds a lot of variation between runs. ~ The game is not really clear about the difference between the three characters. One can double jump, one can walljump, one has a grappling hook. The grappling hook needs to be unlocked in a later stage, so until that time one character feels very weak. - Progression is also not quite clear, as far as I know you need to keep track of which bosses you defeated and the path to get there by yourself. This is especially confusing because every stage has two exits. - Some bosses are pretty annoying, move sets that are near impossible to dodge or impossible to beat without a range weapon. Overall a great game!Show moreShow less
Just play Dead Cells, or Oblivion Override, or Entropy Effect. They are all better. Feels slow. You are constantly pulled to ledges every time you try to jump to a lower lever. It's like every ledge in the game has a tractor beam. Bug where you lose you progression items that seems to be years old. The difference between the 3 characters? One gets a wall jump and one doesn't have a double jump. Power-ups are weak. Too many instances of multiple enemies taking up the same space. Making it difficult to see what they are doing. Trinity Fusion is okay. But it doesn't stand out and just isn't as fun as others in the genre.Show moreShow less
