I’m sorry to say that I cannot in good conscience recommend this game for ethical reasons. The reviews that I read before buying this game made it sound like the game wasn’t problematic, but those particular reviews failed to mention some things that I shall now go over. The protagonist is 6 years old in the prologue, and 13 to 18 years old during the main game. Here are all the romanceable characters that are already adults, and what age they are, when they meet the protagonist when she’s 13 years old: • Benson, 18 (5-year age difference) • Gwyneth, 18 • Kenneth, 18 • Mona, 18 • Mark, 18 • Hackett, 19 (6-year age difference) • Connie, 19 • Lebsa, 22 (9-year age difference) • Rebecca, 26 (13-year age difference) • Mary, 30 (17-year age difference) • Claude, 33 (20-year age difference) A very special mentioning: Derrick, who is 24 years old when he meets the protagonist during the prologue when she’s 6 years old. There are only 4 age-appropriate characters within school range of the protagonist in the entire game. 2 characters have unknown ages because they’re the sons of NPCs the protagonist can befriend, which is weird in a different way. I know some of you are like “Okay, obviously, those really older ages are outrageous, but is 18 and 19 that big a deal?” For real, I want you to do a little thought experiment. Imagine you live in this little village, you’ve already graduated from school at 18, and thus you’ve already mentally separated yourself from the children that go to school, then you meet this little 13-year-old girl one day. Really think about that age. 13. That is very much still a child. A little girl. You would view that girl as a child. And as the years ago by, you see this little girl at least once a week around the village because it’s a small-a$$ village. You literally watch this little girl grow up. Then, she’s 18 and graduating, and you’re like 23 years old. You should be thinking “Oh, wow, kids grow up so fast” or some sh*t, not “Now, I can finally f*ck that little girl since she’s legal!” “But there isn’t any sexual content in the game. It’s all wholesome. They just get married!” you might say. I don’t give a f*ck. Do married couples usually f*ck? Yes. (Unless one or both of them is a sex-repulsed ace.) And that is all besides the point anyway. It’s all still horrendously unethical. Predatory behavior. Power imbalances. Completely different levels of life experiences. Btw, this game is not all wholesome. There are some really dark-a$$ endings, including one that involves sex trafficking. “It’s just a dumb anime sim/VN game, chill out.” There is so much media that forgives this pedo/groomer behavior and it probably keeps going because there isn’t enough backlash. People just shrug and be like “Yeah, that’s typical for anime sh*t.” Make pedos afraid again! When you stay silent, you appear complicit. When you appear complicit, it signals to pedos that they can get away with sh*t for real because they think you’ll be silent then too. Surprisingly, this game is not Japanese though. The devs are Chinese, which is making me question if their media has more pedo stuff in it than I’m aware of. I’ve definitely consumed more Japanese media, so I’m very much aware of their culture’s pedo bullsh*t, but admittedly, most of the Chinese media I’ve consumed is Chinese-American stuff. When I tried to research the subject, I wasn’t able to find much about it pertaining specifically to China. It makes me wonder: why on earth the devs chose such disgusting age ranges? Why didn’t they stick to characters being within her school? They could’ve written all of these romanceable characters to be students. “Why’d you play this so long if you hated it?” The ages are neatly hidden in the menu, under a different info tab than the default one. I didn’t even notice the age differences until I started romancing the characters that were obviously not school-aged, then out of curiosity, looked up the rest of the characters’ ages, and was like HOLY SH*T, WTF. But I paid money for this game and wouldn’t be able to get a refund if I said “there’s pedo/groomer sh*t” as the reason, so I’m getting all those achievements, b*tch. Other, not-so-important observations: The gameplay is fun for the first and second playthrough or so, then it gets tediously repetitive. The CGs are nice if I imagine the characters aren’t way older than her. The polyam ending with Nina & Mona and the puppies is my favorite if I pretend Mona isn’t too old. I liked the outfit designs, as there are several different clothes the protagonist can wear throughout the game. However, there are more outfits that benefit the Charisma stat than Stamina & Mind, especially during Autumn. I hate most of the mini-games; the horse racing and dark alley ones are okay. A couple of achievements a weirdly buggy, but not impossible to get (obviously). The story is weird af, but I try to think of it as “mythology weird” because it involves a volcano goddess. Kinda like how lots of stories from mythology make no damn sense, but you roll with it anyway, like the Christian God making a woman out of a rib or Zeus giving birth with a headache or Odin giving up his eye for knowledge. You’re just kinda like “Well, they’re gods, so they can just do that sh*t, I guess.”Show moreShow less

This game is to Princess Maker what Stardew Valley is to Harvest Moon. It is a masterpiece and well worth the money but marred by simple issues the devs seemingly have no interest in fixing. Be warned that all magic items gotten from monster drops are useless and only meant to be sold. Presumably the devs had a crafting system planned at some point, scrapped it, but didn't bother to provide any other use for the drops. This is clear as some of the monster drops look like components of some of the higher tier decorations, accessories, and weapons. One decoration even shares a name with the feather dropped from one of the monsters. Be aware that the game will crash once when you first open the menu to catch Horses for every single player. (So make sure that's the first thing you do on that day so you don't lose progress) I'm told that this is a documented and long-standing bug that affects all players, but the devs haven't bothered to fix it or warn people on the Store page or in the game menu. I'm going to thumbs down this game until this is addressed so at least someone may be saved from the same experience as I lost an entire days progress due to this easily avoidable situation.Show moreShow less

I'm not recommending to a English audience. The gameplay is good but the writing is full of errors and formatting mistakes. Until they improve it I can't recommend itShow moreShow less
I've only known my daughter for 3 hours but if anything happened to her I'd kill everyone in this review section and then myselfShow moreShow less
While I was interested in this game based on its high reviews, the huge number of positive reviews failed to convey the very poor quality of the translation. In the prologue for the game, there were major punctuation and grammar mistakes in every single sentence. I'm sure that the gameplay itself is less affected by this problem, but I can't imagine spending time with a game that relies so heavily on story when the translation is this bad.Show moreShow less

The English translation is very bad throughout the whole game. The original language for this game is Chinese, and the massive number of positive reviews from Chinese players skew this game's ratings to Overwhelmingly Positive. Understanding the character dialogue is important for a Life Sim like this type of game, so that you feel a connection with the characters in the game. But that's hard to do with this game's bad translations. It plays like any other stat management sim without good story and dialogue.Show moreShow less
