My friend who I play this game with said if I post a review on this game and it gets 150 likes and 125 Awards that he will buy me a case of beer and some vodka So im just gonna leave this hereShow moreShow less
This game is incredible at its ability to mislead. From the high quality into with funky borderlands-style character intros, to the funny minigames you play during the first hour. By all accounts if you are given the impression that this is a game of quality, something that presumably is an RPG, and has some sort of a story. If you had only played this game for a couple hours you would be right to think that. Everything after hour 3-5 for me was where the game revealed its true colors: a money grabbing mobile port with nothing but grinding. Every time you open the map or inventory menu, a popup comes to tell you about some new garbage product that you can pay real money for, and you have to close out of it, you can buy perks and skill points for ridiculously high prices. You have to use gas to get to new places, another currency artificially lowered as to sell you it with real money. No gas? Can't do much. There is the "steam version" which I naively bought after 3 hours of playing, thinking I would be supporting devs who care about making cool games like this one. Unfortunately the "Steam Version" just makes you have infinite gas and doesn't do much else. The theme this game is banking on is "pay real money to make this grinding/annoyance go away" and it does this beautifully, nearly every aspect of this game is based around that. The weapons, which there are a wide variety of, all have skins which you can buy with real money, or grind for a couple days to get a single one. The aforementioned weapons are just nice models that all do the same thing, the only difference between weapon tiers is damage. It looks like there's a lot of guns but really when you look at their mechanics there are only 3 types, only one of which being viable (assault rifles). Sniper rifles and shotguns are useless because there is no bullet penetration so the thing they would excel at, they can't even do right. Again, this whole game becomes a grindfest very fast, and since there is no variety of weapons, and very little of enemies, it gets old VERY FAST. I have 45 hours in this game and a majority of those were spent grinding and waiting for the timed collectibles. Now the good is that this is a solid game, the gunplay is fine, the movement is fine, knowing this is a mobile port it really is a quality one. This game actually reminds me a lot of dead island but watered down. So, you have a quality game mechanic-wise here, but its filled with so many attempts to sell you garbage that it's extremely obvious that this game is meant for people on mobile who actually buy that crap. This game is a perfect example of why mobile gaming never and will never take off because even though it does everything else competently, its still a cashgrab at the end of the day, and every aspect of the game that's designed to make money off you makes it for a worse game overall. You never really get to use the guns you get and upgrade to their fullest extent though because the only "bosses" there are, you can defeat fairly easily and are just bullet sponges. Some you can strafe and take no damage from them. As of the time of this review the game is not complete. There is no end game! There's what looks like another city and I;m sure another tier of weapons to be had and more of the exact same types of zombies to fight with them. This game felt like a chore to beat because there was always grinding to be done and no end goal and the fact that there isn't actually an end just exemplifies that. There are some positive aspects of this game though, the open world system and house system are actually pretty good ideas that come from the mobile game market. You can buy houses that produce ammo/bandages/etc and every day when you log on, you can collect what they produced last night. With the artificially inflated cost of upgrades though, you will basically never make your money back and you're better off just buying it from the shopkeep. The other one, the open world, is a little town that you can upgrade that has little areas you can go to and look for items and hunt zombies, you can make gas in the town, do little collection quests, and upgrade it so you do everything better. A lot of this does stem from the artificial inflation of resource cost but this was probably the most enjoyable part of the game to me. If they somehow got rid of all the cashgrab stuff in this game (something that I had HOPED the steam version purchase would do) it would be a nice little zombie RPG, but the fact that it has all this stuff, IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME is so absurd it isn't even funny. If this was an MMO it might be excusable because that's just par for the course at this point. I spent 45 hours in this game not because I enjoyed it, but because I wanted to be able to give a 100% accurate review, and I spent $10 on the "Steam Version" (stupidly) and I'm gonna get my moneys worth. I can safely say that I have seen 99% of what this game has to offer, and this review reflects that. Believe me, I wanted to quit much earlier when I realized the jig was up. Don't get this game, but if you do, don't give them any money. Money shows that you support this kind of microtransaction filled game, and we don't need mobile ports like this to take over steam.Show moreShow less

So, no, I didn't play all that long at all. Here are a couple of things I'd like to say about the game. Just gonna start of by saying, yeah, the game is mad fun, but I can't give the game a Positive rating. The game aesthetically is incredibly pleasing. Simple, yet fluid and it all just works. The gunning feels excellent, and I love the RPG aspect of the game. Now DEVELOPERS! Please READ this!!!! - I would buy this game for $10, or maybe even $15 if you'd remove the energy, man. Make this game buy to play, and if there are microtransactions, of course, just make it all customization. No pay to win stuff please. No one wants that. - Now, depending on the amount of content you guys provide, I would easily pay more, no questions asked. But I can't, and I refuse, to have to pay for oil to travel or for life. I refuse. Refine the game for Mobile play if that's the course of action, and remove it from Steam. Final thoughts: I think the game is great fun and has tons of potential, but F2P on PC, and with a limit, is just not gonna cut it, IMO. If there are those who don't mind any of that, then you'll love it. For those that don't like any of that stuff, avoid the game cause you'll be disappointed, NOT WITH THE GAME ITSELF, but with the limit you are given in order to play a pretty damn fun gameShow moreShow less

Beware freemium scam. Definitely a mobile style game that is cleverly disguised as a deeper game. While enjoyable, you tend to find yourself in the same 3-4 maps for the majority of the game. The quests are very weak like go here and fight zombies, then collect 8 items, then fight zombies, collect 4 more items, fight more zombies, then return to base and repeat. Same exact thing every time. The microtransactions constantly and annoyingly pop up in your face to the point I actually dread opening the menu/inventory screen to change weapons. The graphical style is fun, the voice acting is literally the absolute worst I have ever seen in my entire life, the interface is decent, and the gunplay is decent. No key binding is sort of annoying when the devs obviously know how to code from all the microtransactions and facebook implementation. I've only seen maybe 5-6 weapons so far and they are almost entirely WW2 weapons despite this taking place modern day and a little bit after that. I only have a glock 17 from a speech check (very limited I must say) and I have an mp5 cus it was free for the day. The zombies are limited to but a few repeated skins and so far I've only seen about 3 maybe 4 different distinct zombie types. I'd have rathered the game be paid and had no micros as this is a huge turn off. I get that it's free, but it's overwhelmingly in your face every time you turn around. The story is bland and like someone threw it together very quick. They downright stole some visual stuff from borderlands like when they introduce people. Sprinting is terrible as it stays on even after you stop moving. Sounds are okay at best. I genuinely wanted to like this and it seemed fun but man I am disappointed.Show moreShow less

Game that is fun for a bit until you realize it has microtransactions embedded into it in order to continue playing. It does have a $10 package that gives you infinite gas so you can play forever but microtransaction mechanics should never be in a PC game. So much potential destroyed by greed.Show moreShow less

I honestly enjoyed this game, sure it's a massive grind but I don't really mind that so much. I'm not a big fan of the gas time-gating (mobile game energy bar) system but it's a free game and there is a small paid option to ignore that mechanic all together. The Devs have to make money somehow, I get that. The main issue I have with the game and the reason I stopped playing is the advert spam for the cash shop stuff every time I open the inventory, even after "paying" for the game. That is a massive deal breaker for me.Show moreShow less
