Wallpaper Engine
Wallpaper Engine is most appealing when animated desktop scenes and making your own wallpapers have a clear place in your routine. Steam Workshop provides downloadable designs, while the editor can animate images and bring in videos or websites. The price at
CDKeys is $3.99. Think about whether you will use those customization tools often enough to make them worthwhile, rather than deciding on the size of the available library alone. At CDKeys, Wallpaper Engine costs $3.99, while Steam currently lists it at $4.99; that direct comparison can guide where you buy.

Pros: + This program is great. (if you have 1 monitor) its great that theres lots of workshop content and is supprisingly lightweight on the CPU & GPU. Cons: - However I found when using more than 1 monitor its not as easy (I have a 3 monitor setup), theres is infact support for more monitors in the software and you can choose to either strech one or have different on each screen. This is where it come noticable of the first bug, theres an option to pause the wallpaper if its not visable (per screen) but it will only pause if theres something maximised on my middle/main monitor. If you have something maximised there then it will pause all 3 screens instead of just the middle/main one. - Another bug is that a lot of the workshops just produce a black screen or misplaced content when spread over more than 1 monitor. - The program crashed whenever fraps was open. - After disabling fraps it didnt crash as much but still produced fatal errors. - When it was working whenever i was in rocket league it would flicker white on my ofter screens, no idea why. - Its may seem obvious but i thought id include this, when you put one over 3 screens you cant see the whole thing, only the middle line of the video/whatever it is. (It does this with most of them but not all) Conclusion: I love the consept of the program but for me it needs way more bug fixing before its even usable for me (yes, i know its in early access). I have now refunded the game but maybe ill consider re-buying it in a later version, who knows. :) ** PLEASE READ BELOW ** EDIT: Lots of people are agreeing/disagreeing with me I dont know if this is down to my hardware (AMD R9 380x, i5 CPU) or if there as been updates since to fix it (as its in early beta). Also loads of comments about me using fraps, I use what works and thats about it - fraps is easy and does what i want it to do. I'm not overly bothered about whether people agree that i use it or not :)Show moreShow less

Fix the tag system for f**** sake; while scrolling through the search options if you do not watch one of the following things then you're in for hours of clicking through pages that take forever to load. Things you'll find in workshop that I do NOT want to see, regardless of the tags you have selected 1. Overwatch tagged as everything except overwatch, video games, cartoon, etc. 2. Anime tagged as everything except anime, cartoon, etc. 3. straight pornography.... yup there's just a whole lot of porn on there 4. false resolutions, too frequently do I click on something that says 4k in the title and tags, only to find it be less than 1080p 5. more pornography, anime, and overwatch 6. still wallpapers with random ass particle animations tagged as videos and animated, yes it's animated, no it shouldn't count, 2 f****ing dots moving across my screen doesn't make it animated 7. music videos or random wallpapers with annoying or insanely loud sounds that make you go deaf as you search for the volume slider 8. incorrectly tagged memes tagged as everything except... you guessed it... memes! 9. repeat unmodified gifs that random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ find on the internet and upload without changing anything, and they're things that you would be like "what's the point" "why would someone put effort into that" and "why would anyone want this distracting gif as their background????" So I would recommend it, except their gui is kinda ♥♥♥♥, and their tag system does not work so finding the wallpaper you want unless you're into anime, overwatch, pornography, etc. is a 3 hour job. P.S. Developers, ways to fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tag system, require a minimum amount of tags 5 would work, that would prevent people from using no one simply one incorrect tag, include more tags too, tags by popular game would be great, simply put a system in where you can manually type a tag and have tags that are manually typed a lot gain a suggestion slot. Also, verify resolution with everything, why are people able to upload 1080p images as 4k? Create a whole separate workshop for anime and overwatch ♥♥♥♥.Show moreShow less

this is a good software if you feel like normal wallpaper sucks, and you want to taste something new, you can download user-made wallpapers from the workshop, but theres a catch almost EVERY SINGLE wallpaper from steam workshop is either henta i wallpaper or some other anime waifu stuff, i generally dont like it and i feel like the stuff like 18+ wallpaper should be regulated, and the people who feel like loving wallpaper should move on 2011 forums. AND EVEN FILTERS DONT WORK! I GO TO PIXEL ART AND FIRSR THING I SEE IS 4 BLACK MEN FUC KI NG A LOLI. EVERYTHING IS MISSTAGGED, AND EVERYHING IS EITHER WEEB SHI T OR POR N. (and NO, i am not a concerned parent, i just hate when i want to get some wallpapers and only options i have is weeb wallpaper or henta i)Show moreShow less
