The game is incredibly difficult for new players because you get auto-banned for six hours if you accidentally team kill someone which is IMPOSSIBLE to avoid if you are just starting out. Everyone looks the same at a distance. Both myself and a friend have gotten auto-banned for accidentally killing a teammate in our first few games because of this absolutely braindead auto-ban system that ends up discouraging any new players from actually learning the game. And when you get banned you have no idea what happened; there is no message and the top server does not show up in the game menu. People have been complaining about this issue for literally four months on the forums, but the developer "TrustyJam" has been dragging his feet and no fix has been implemented, much to the detriment of new players. Getting banned for six hours on your first or second attempt playing the game absolutely sucks; if me and my other two friends that bought the game keep getting auto-banned because of a single accidental teamkill we will all refund the game because it IS NOT worth this much trouble to figure out how to play.Show moreShow less
Its like the civil war but the Union fights for gay rights, and the Confederates fight for the right to say the N-word.Show moreShow less
Pretty awesome game, all around good mechanics. Problem is: there is only 1-2 reasonably populated servers. I pissed off an officer, who was an Admin ( because he was clearly incompetent and should not be commanding) and got banned. So basically, this game is worthless now, unless I want to play EU servers. So much like the Civil War, the private servers are run by aristocrats and they call the shots no matter how impotent.Show moreShow less

It's a pretty decent game overall. The only problem is that there is only one active server 95% of the time, and they pass out bans like hot cakes. I received a ban recently and I have no idea why, making the game essentially unplayable. Play at your own risk, your money is in the hands of some extremely anal server mods who can make your purchase worthless.Show moreShow less

!!!!! INTERESTING TRUE STORY !!!! hello there! at first, I want to tell you that, I love this game and I got it when it released and I still playing this game every night that I can, even with difficulty of difference of timezone, and I found some GOOD friends in this game! BUT! I don't recommend it after all these good benefits had for me now I'm going to tell you WHY!!!!!!! in my opinion there is one BIG problem in it, this game isn't populated ENOUGH! I mean since that day I got it, until today there was just one server running for public matches, like every night in one same server and after a month it changes but still one server for all pub players, AND IT WILL BE LIKE THIS FOREVER! in this game. you can say: "OK, it isn't problem for me I will get along with it" let me tell you CONSEQUENCE of one server playing all nights! there is an ADMIN or are some ADMINS, that there is no competition with other servers for them, guess WHAT will happens with it! they can rule on server however they like, they can set some made up rules for the players, and if someone doesn't listen to them or doesn't do whatever they want that person can get banned for how much they want for example 250 hours or FOREVER! and that player can't play the game for that period of time like there is no way to play WOR in that time, in other meaning they want people to be OBEDIENT!!!!!!!!! and admins are connected to each other and support themselves you can say "then why people don't play on official server?" the answer is they CAN'T! because there is no one playing there because people don't choose the server that they playing in it, regiment OWNERS choose their servers!!!! you might ask "who are the regiment owners?" they are some greedy, power hungry guys that call themselves colonel of some regiments and gather their friends around themselves and give them some good ranks and their friends start hiring people in their regiments to support each other like CULTS!!! after this they tell their regiment people to populate which server! in that case there will be a server populated, the server that they want and they can RULE on!!!! I have met lots of good people but the problem is they aren't on power, only power hungry guys are! I wrote too much and if you are reading here thank you to following it I want to make it short IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THIS GAME YOU HAVE TO BE OBEDIENT TO ALL ADMINS AND THEIR MADE UP RULES!!!! it wasn't like this back then on old days but it got like this nowadays for the last time thank you for reading my experiences that I learned after these years on this game and yes I will continue with playing this game, for better days, because always there is HOPE!Show moreShow less
Do you find Call of Duty too fast?? Tired of getting stabbed to death in a first first shooter? Are your reflexes not what they used to be because you're now 40 years old with a full time career with wife and two kids and you're exhausted but after everyone is asleep you get an hour play time to unwind? If so then this game is for you! It takes a while to reload so every shot counts, and you're Guaranteed not to get stabbed to death by a 14 year old even though you're pretty sure you shot him 17 times in the chest with a fully automatic sub-machine gun.Show moreShow less
This isn't a review of the game as such. Rather, it's a review of the playerbase. Since this is a multiplayer only game, the playerbase is an unavoidable part of the experience. A significant minority of the playerbase of War of Rights are loud racists. Many of these seem to be playing the game because it gives them a thin excuse to micspam racial slurs. Some of these are self aware enough to offer the explanation that they are being 'historically accurate,' but having read a fair bit of ACW history, I'm reasonably certain that Confederate infantry did not usually charge while howling the N-word over and over. I feel for the devs on this issue. They seem to be making efforts here. However, the playerbase is incurable in this regard. I've been on for two hours this weekend, and in that time, I have twice heard veteran players call out "devs are on guys, no more racial slurs" so that newer racists can avoid consequences. There are (inadequate) solutions available. The mute system is functional but time consuming. It is possible to spend ten minutes hunting down every adolescent racist in the tab menu for individual muting, but why would you do that? There are better shooters that don't require this. Some clans seem to suppress bad behavior, but I'm reviewing as someone who's not interested in joining one. In sum: if you don't mind constantly hearing loud pubescent bigotry, this is a functional ACW multiplayer shooter. The formation mechanics are interesting and the rifled musketry is well realized. However, if you don't mind racists, I don't particularly want to play a game with you; and as inevitably happens, the obnoxious racism drives out players who it bothers and reduces public matches to a hard core /pol/-type crowd. I do not recommend this game. EDIT: My first draft left out the worst experience of the day, which was that several clan members were doing the usual text chat recruitment, spamming copy-pasted 'join [number] [southern state] regiment!' in chat. One of these messages stated that to apply, one must post a scan of a driver's license with photo in their Discord, to ensure that the 'right kind of people' are admitted. Hard pass. SECOND EDIT: See the developer response below. As noted in my original review, they're trying. The problem is the players, not the developers. As the developer requests, I will look in on the game in the future and flip this review if things improve. I look forward to the promised systems to more easily suppress micspamming tweens and loud Nick Fuentes aficionados.Show moreShow less
