I don't know what it is, this game just did not do it for me. It's incredibly inventive and I kept coming back to it thinking I had to be missing something. I STILL think I have to be missing something. At the end of the day, I just didn't find it very fun to play. I constantly felt like the walls were closing in too fast, I never had enough damage to kill the bosses quickly and the upgrades feel slow and aren't described well/at all. This might be something I revisit later. It's not a terrible value for the price. Given how much high praise this game is getting right now, I'm almost inclined to say that the problem is with me and not the game.Show moreShow less

windowkill is a pretty good arena battler for the first few hours. it has a creative concept, fun and challenging gameplay, and decent sound design. sadly, it quickly succumbs to performance issues and lag, because the way it chooses to scale difficulty is "spawn more enemies." i wish the upgrades allowed more meaningful choices. the decision to track each upgrade's price separately incentivizes "builds" which spread tokens evenly into all of them. not much thought has to go into what upgrades you buy. id like to see a larger pool of perks which could be selected from when starting a run, upgrades which remove specific other upgrades from the shop, the ability to purge an upgrade from the shop that you don't want any more levels in, and generally more systems which allow you to create a distinct build each run. ultimately the game's biggest flaw is performance. the game doesn't scale in an elegant way- it increases the difficulty by simply spamming more and more enemies, which inevitably overwhelms the pc, not the player. lag and fps drops end runs before the enemies have a chance to. windowkill is not a finished game. it was created based off a cool idea, which the demo showed off very nicely. but this version doesn't follow thru and optimize or build off of the demo in any meaningful way. there are more enemy types and abilities, but none of them really take the "shoot-em-up in multiple windows" in a new or interesting direction, and none of them are capable of posing a challenge in a >30fps environment.Show moreShow less
This game is extremely cool and fun TBH!! (To elaborate a bit more, I think this game does a great job of creating a gimmick that is both interesting on its face and also acts as a great vehicle for gameplay. I was kind of worried the "windows" element of the game would be kind of meaningless, or annoying, for the sake of the gimmick, but no, the window elements tie into the gameplay very nicely and this game is just simply very fun to play as a result. Both fun as an idea and fun in execution, which I think is fantastic!) The dragons in this game get a rating of 0/10, for no dragons.Show moreShow less
There's not a lot of game here. The upgrades are not very deep and after 20 minutes the game was already recycling bosses. Even at 5 dollars, it's pretty light.Show moreShow less

Cool idea, but it just isn't any fun. I find it annoying to play.Show moreShow less
