Before I played this i had a small penis, no girlfriend and no will to live. None of these things have changed, but the game is pretty good.Show moreShow less
Edit: So the Dev finally response to my Review (All thanks to you guys for making this possible) Flagged for SAM. Fine have it your way Dev. I don't even play the game anymore so I'm fine with it. BUT! the Devs ONLY know I using SAM because they checked my profile AFTER I got flagged. So that means they saw my Review gained a lot of attention and decided to reply with a lame excuse and call it a day. And eveything that i wrote down in my review still relevant By the time you read this, I've SAMed the game since the dev decided to flagged me permanent. A small price to pay for bigger achievement number. ---------Glorious---Review---for---Glorious---Purpose------- Don't get me wrong! the game is fantastic gameplay Mechanic 10/10! Many said that the game is a ripped off Seige, but this game IS the Seige we needed! The problem here is the community! IT IS VERY TOXIC! BE AWARE, New Player! I'll tell you my case and why you should be aware! Aaannnd pardon me for the typo. (i would give you a good ol' suckky if i can) *Warning! LONG, DARK, and HARDsh words ahead!* So I re-downloaded the game the other day, played for 3hr in the morning. I was absolutely got owned by the other team because I don't know the maps and did not get used to how the guns handling. So I am almost always at the bottom frag. That's not why I give the game thumb down. the harder the game gets, the better (harder, daddy!) The reason I give a thumb down is that on the evening of the very same day, I got FLAGGED! FLAGGED here means you got reported by multiple players so the dev decided to temporarily Flagged your match-making. You won't be able to play with any normal players via match-making. And the Flagged last 1 month. YES! they will report you for being bad at the game! and I played like 5 or so matches! I immediately contact the dev and use my perfect broken english to give them a gentleman's angry email. They responded 2 min later ask for my steam name so they can look into the matter. I gave them something better than just a simple steam name: My custom steam URL! But it's been more than 24 hours now and no reply. (Update: Its been more than 2 weeks now!) So that means now I got 1 wonderful month to playing with others flagged players! (i bet there are cheaters among these flagged players as well) So be aware, new players! Either be good at the game right away or get flagged like me and stuck with potential cheaters for 1 month. Such a GREAT way to keep new players away! Good job, devs! Now the game sits in my game library looking all nice and good. GOSH DAYUM. This will be my PRIME example of how bad the community can be and how slow the dev can look into your problems. Oh, if the devs are reading this, I wish your toast fall on the buttered side >:( With Love (and Huggies), SteveShow moreShow less
dont bother getting this game if you want to play multiplayer, the servers are dead because of the unwanted denuvo anticheat. coop isnt too bad thoShow moreShow less
Zero Hour is a fantastic game, made by a good dev team that consistently updates the game and sticks to their schedule. The game gets a lot of things right, but there are a few really annoying aspects that really need to be changed IMO. 1.) Before the start of a round, you are only given 15 seconds to set up your load out. 15 seconds is not enough time to choose your primary weapon + attachments, secondary weapon + attachments, and equipment. My friends and I are always having trouble selecting our loudout fast enough before a round starts. I understand how this might be good for PvP, but its really annoying in Coop. 2.) Some of the key binds are abysmally bad. They don't need to re-invent the wheel, but it seems like some of the binds were designed by someone who has never played a tactical FPS game before. For instance, you press num 3 and num 4 to switch between equipment, then you have to press G to actually use the equipment. So lets say I have an NVG and a grenade. To use the NVG, you have to press 3, then G to turn it on and off. To throw the grenade, you have to press 4, then G. Why isnt there just a single button I can use to throw the grenade, and another button that toggles my NVGs? Its not intuitive at all. I have over 100 keys on my keyboard, so let me use them please. Why not allow the player to bind equipment to individual keys without having to first switch to them. The system they have now doesn't even add any realism, because NVGs are on my head, and grenades are on my vest. So it just doesnt make sense to make the player pre select their equipment using num 3 and 4, and then have to press G to toggle using the equipment. Its very tedious to do in the middle of a battle. 3.) You cannot change keybinds in game. You must back out to the main menu just to even see your controls. SO lets say you forget how to toggle your flashlight. Well you must leave the game and then go to settings just to see your controls, let alone rebind them. 4.) I get that the game is only $12, but I would have gladly payed more if the game was more refined. Please give players more options to personalize their key binds. I am giving a thumbs down only because I want the devs to see this review, but otherwise I would recommend ZH. I will change this review in the future if the devs improve some of the annoying aspects of the game.Show moreShow less

This is what I've been searching for. EDIT! PLEASE READ! This game has changed alot! since I last posted this review. The worst being the implementation of Denuvo AFTER the release of their competitor Ready Or Not. Thing is, Denuvo isn't good. It wasn't necessary for this game, it set back costs and ruins performance. I really liked the switch between RON and this. Now, I uninstalled it for good. The review below still stands, but please keep the Denuvo aspect of it in mind. Thank you. Zero Hour is the kind of game I needed in my life without knowing I did. It's the strategy Siege never offered; It's the patience Vegas 2 never had; It's the updated graphics S.W.A.T 4 couldn't offer; And the release RON never had; It combines all of these missing pieces into one absolutely stunning gaming experience. And I can not recommend it more. Positive Notes: ✔ Brilliant gameplay. ✔ Costumization for weapons (so far) ✔ Especially in Co-Op there is a heavy weight on communication and realism. ✔ Graphics are decent. ✔ It plays insanely well. ✔ Incooperated mechanics actually work and make sense. ✔ You do not want to stop once you start. ✔ Frequent updates with player input. ✔ The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ price. 10€ and 6€ on sale? For a game that could easily flow for 20€?! Wow. ✔ Developers listen to their player base. ✔ The maps are huge; realistic and never the same. ✔ Rappel mechanics and gun feeling. ✔ Ingame map you can draw on... ✔ Multiple scenarios; hostage; bomb; elimination; secure data. Contra Notes: ✘ PvP can be a pain with the high ping. ✘ ...sadly only viewable by other players in the menu; not later in the game. ✘ Sync can be messed up in Co-Op and players may see different things. All in all: I love this game. I mostly play it Co-Op since the Vegas 2 servers have been taken offline and Siege has turned into a skin-market for my dolled up gun-holders. The realism you witness is amazing. The amount of times my heart has stopped from walking into a simple trap because I wasn't paying attention for one second is shattering. You need to communicate with one another. A map may seem easy if you play it with 3-5 people. But do it with 2 and it's a completely different story. Suddenly, you need to slow down; pace yourself; have each others back. Do we take Nightvision; IR Laser and turn off the lights in the building? Put on silencers and climb up from the side; scaling the building and surprise them from the roof? Do we split up to cover more ground? You need to think; plan; walk this through. There is no rush here. There can't be. I love the realism it embraces; the slow-paced but still nerve wracking action; the way you just can't do this on your own. You need your team. You need to do this together. For a flipping 10€ this is a dream. A damn dream. Currently, there aren't too many maps and you "unlock" them simply by playing. It's a great concept and makes you want to perfect your technique in a certain map only to realize you can't. The maps are random. They change. So you adapt. Improvise; work on yourself and your team. I can't say much than I absolutely recommend this game. Not just because of the price, but because it's the tactical shooter I needed. We all did, I think. The constant updates, the realistic feeling, the player-base, all same-minded people. if you want to sweat into your seat because you keep looking at the ground for traps; while a friend of yours slowly cuts the power and the other has your backs, this is for you. 9.8/10.Show moreShow less
**DISCLAIMER** I have had discussions with the developers and the situation listed below as far as my and several others being banned has been reverted as well as the under-age staff being removed from the discord, The developers have also instilled very black and white rules as far as spawn peeking is concerned, clearing up that too. HOWEVER, there are still a number of issues such as the toxic player base, its still very likely that once you complete a round someone will probably tell you to ♥♥♥ or something but that doesn't really affect me, just saying it to let people know, and discussing in the discord is still hopeless as most of the community result to mob-like squabbling in which the original suggestion or debate will be buried under the cesspit of ♥♥♥♥♥ that comes with it. The developers will need to be faster with the content they produce and push out, because although they are pushing for a more realistic game style, they will have to continue a heavy flow of content which will be very difficult with the small size of the dev group. __________________________________________________________________________ This game has some severe red flags that may run this game down the drain, and its actually insane. The Community Moderator of 14 years of age In the official discord for this game there is a community moderator involved in discussion about the game and moderation of the discord, the big twist is that he has openly mentioned that he is "13 (soon to be 14)", ironically due to the games contents of graphic gore, nudity and violence the game's rating actually exceeds his age, however the developers and community managers are aware and do not see the issue, this child does not even have the maturity to make an exception for his age, simply terrible character judgement and questionable intentions of the devs. Friends of the developers are extremely scummy and protected by the devs There is a member of the community who is quite vocal by the name of "FixItQuix" in the discord, he has suggested many changes to the development team, such as rule changes and mechanical changes to do with the game, and it comes as no suprise to find out that he happens to be very good friends with "Shab1b" who is a developer for M7 Productions, after FixitQuix moans about annoying players or players flashing their torches at opponents to dazzle them, shab1b instantly made a rule change to prevent it from being allowed, and made it a bannable offence, meanwhile FixitQuix continues to do things like Spawn-peeking (which the game advertises itself as against). Lies of advertisement The game advertises itself as more grounded and down to earth, while also openly opposing spawn-peeking, however again after a discussion in the discord with the community moderators and developers, it became apparent that this was not true, and in fact FixitQuix would openly do this commonly when he went into games, after this was known the developers quickly changed their tune to explain that their view on spawn peeking was essentially as soon as you spawn you are shot, after around 3 seconds when you come into view of some of the maps you were fair game to be killed, essentially resulting in siege-esque (or even worse) occasions of spawn peeking, the developers completely turned their back on their statement of wanting more slow paced and tactical gameplay, by bowing to cronyism in which they are willing to change entire aspects of their game and rules due to pressure from their friends in which play the game, this is probably the most self-destructive and suicidal thing this development company can do, they need to ask themselves what game they are trying to make, because if they are simply replicating Siege, at a much lower quality, then the game is doomed. The game is great, however the community itself and the inexperienced developers and community moderators are throwing a once promising game in the dirt. P.S I received the product for free. so am not tainted by the fact that I had to spend money on this destroyed project. 5/10Show moreShow less
Zero Hour isn't actually as bad as people make it out to be in the reviews. But here are a few things to look out for: YES, the AI have insane reaction time YES, you have essentially no walking speed or stamina (this may change in the next update) YES, the game is dead as of now because no one knows of this game HOWEVER, the developers do have: Some of the best gunplay I've ever seen I would say one of the best environments in any game, ever. Listen, to complete missions (i have only played co-op because there's no one online lmao), you cannot gung-ho Bonzai your way through the level like it's COD. You just cannot win that way. You need to take an ACTUAL tactical approach to the game. Hell it's more of a mil-sim than a game. For instance, my buddy and I stepped into the very first co-op mission and tried just speedrunning it, and we got slaughtered by the terrorists. Yet, when we went full Arma 3 mil-sim mode, clearing rooms back to back, clearing corners, timing breaches into rooms, setting up tactical offenses, and even double-tapping dead terrorists at some points, we actually beat the level. TLDR: TAKE YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TIME WITH THE MISSIONS! Oh yeah, and there's tripwires. On our first few runs at the practice area (where the timed trial is) and in all of the co-op missions that we've done so far (we're on the 3rd one out of 7 or 8, and yes it's that difficult), tripwires instantaneously take off a significant chunk of your health. The only way to not eat grenade fragments is the check every single door your pass and disarm the tripwires. You may think you're safe if you haven't seen any, but trust me. They're there. Inertia is also a thing in this game. Felt weird at first, but I understood why they had it there and I slowly got used to it. Last thing, on the timed trial, people are getting 29-32 seconds with a record holder of 26 seconds. Now... I did my best. I've played parkour games, and I even memorized the places of the cardboard cutouts you shoot and pre-aimed there every time. Wanna know what time I got? 44-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-seconds. Now excuse-the-♥♥♥♥-me HOW are people getting such good times. My buddy got a top time of like 40 seconds himself, and even HE didn't know how he did that. More power to ya I guess. Now for the major TLDR, the game does have it's flaws, but you have to be reminded that this game is in beta, and the developers are attempting to update the game as soon as possible. Some updates are even coming soon that will take away one of the points that I didn't like about the game. This game, in my opinion, is worth the money as of now, and would greatly benefit the developers to see more and more people getting the game. It would also help the community as the game is currently averaging about 80 players at any given point. Much Too Long Didn't Read: get it. it fun. have bug. but still fun. EDIT (as of 5/21/2021 with 8ish hours now): The added inertia and new missions (they either look new or im just doing the big dumb) feel AMAZING. This new update did SO MUCH to improve the realism, such as adding the modifications of the guns, and the swinging motion after you move (aka inertia). In order to understand WHY they made the inertia so apparent, you have to understand how much gear that SWAT teams carry. Let's just say, there's a reason that they go through rigorous physical training. TLDR: The inertia MAKES SENSE. Good on ya devs. A NEW ADDITION HAS ALSO BEEN MADE: Arrests of surrendering terrorists and the interrogation of said terrorists. I will split this into two segments. ARRESTS OF SURRENDERING TERRORISTS: This. Is. EPIC. Before the big update, you had to just... I don't know... trust that the surrenderees stayed in their surrendered form? Yeah now, you can arrests the surrendering terrorist. Makes it really feel like that have surrendered, and that they're not just having their hands behind their heads eternally. TLDR: The arrest feature is a genuinely awesome addition and feels like you are actually making the terrorists surrender. INTERROGATION: I'm sorry but this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AMAZING. Now it took me some time to understand why the interrogation was a thing. Let me make this clear: THIS DOES NOT PING SOMETHING WHILE YOU ARE IN THE MATCH (Per se). IT SHOWS UP ON YOUR MAP. I could not find that ping for the longest time. I'm not really sure what the pings on the map actually mean, but it's an awesome addition that feels bad-ass. Welcome to Operation Meghna This update is few hours old now and a few key points have been addressed that I will talk about. The first of which is the audio. From my past recordings and past play session of the game, the audio has gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better. They sound like actual guns with force and not pea shooters. I have heard some speculation that this game stole audio assets from COD, and whether that is the case or not, the sounds have been changed for the better. The second major change is the addition of the AS VAL, FN 5-7, PP Bizon, and the Sawed-Off Shotgun. They feel great and the models look amazing as well. There has also been some attachment additions, the one notable one that I tested was the STEINER laser, which performs as intended. The third major change is enhancements to the environment. Three new features have been added: Tinnitus effects, Better looking and accurate gore, and realistic ragdolling. Great changes that enhance and immerse the player in the experience. The fourth major change is the addition of maps. I personally have not played it yet, but considering M7 and Attrito's contributions and development to this game, I believe that they will be great. If anything is not up to par, I will edit this section. Have a great time playing this new big update. And as usual, I will be editing this review through updates and as I see fit.Show moreShow less
