BALL x PIT has passed 2 million copies sold across all platforms, developer Kenny Sun and Friends and publisher Devolver Digital announced, alongside the game's final major free update, The Naturalist. The milestone comes less than a year after launch on October 15, 2025, and the real player count is higher than that sales figure because the game also arrived on Game Pass on day one.
The numbers have moved quickly. BALL x PIT sold 100,000 copies in its first 24 hours, reached 400,000 in its first week, climbed to 750,000 after three weeks, and reached 1 million in a month and a half. Now it has doubled again to 2 million before its first anniversary, a pace that goes beyond the usual fast-starting indie breakout.

That makes The Naturalist feel less like a routine patch than a proper send-off for a game that outgrew its original expectations. The update adds 2 new characters, 11 balls, and 5 passive skills, giving returning players more ways to test builds and team compositions. Kenny Sun and Friends said the project exceeded every expectation, including the size of the community that formed within just a few months of release.

Active content support is ending with this update, but the studio is not treating the series as finished. The team said the franchise could still have more to say. For anyone who has not picked it up yet, BALL x PIT is now available across PC, console, and mobile. With its final major free update in place, this is probably the best time to jump in.
