Fallout 4 Updated to Support DLSS – Bethesda Finally Takes Action
Spent another 50 hours revisiting the Wasteland, this time for the new patch. Even though it's an American RPG, I can't break the habit of grinding for collectibles. Hidden elements make my eyes light up; technical upgrades count as collectibles too. In terms of collecting, DLSS is like a variation on Final Fantasy's crystal theme. Added support for NVIDIA DLSS. Frame rates are much more stable. This technological innovation reminds me of the remastered Mana series. As for the combat system, unfortunately, it's still not turn-based; real-time shooting remains. It would be perfect if command battles were like Shin Megami Tensei. If turn-based is implemented like this, it's better to just cut it and go real-time. But at least stability has improved; it doesn't crash as frequently as before. As for side quests, localization fixes make the text read much smoother. This update fixed multiple issues, covering stability and visual effects. Localization and HUD aspects have also been improved accordingly. The Wasteland scenery is now as clear and sharp as an anime background. Bethesda Game Studios finally heard the players' voices recently. For players wanting to get into the NS2 version, now is a good time. After all, with improved stability, immersion becomes as coherent as the storyline. Returning veterans can also discover many optimized detail Easter eggs. Unfortunately, there are no new story quests; you have to explore and discover them yourself. In short, this update is like applying a layer of high-gloss wax to an old engine. Hope to see more Japanese-style mods added in the future. After all, for completionists, completeness is the most important metric. Although this update is small, it feels like obtaining a hidden item. It makes you want to wander around the Wasteland for another few dozen hours. It would be even better if a Japanese art style skin pack could be released in the future. The current visual effects are already enough to support a new journey of exploration.
