*Forza Horizon 6* Limited Accessories Revealed — Are They Worth Waiting For?
The new release hasn’t been officially announced with its full lineup of merchandise yet, but Microsoft’s accessory rollout has already surfaced ahead of time. News like this often reveals more about a platform’s operational strategy than the game itself. Based on the current leaks, Forza Horizon 6 will launch alongside a limited-edition wireless controller and wireless headset, both releasing on the same day as the game. This clearly doesn’t look like a last-minute add-on, but rather a full-scale brand collaboration.

The known information comes from an exclusive leak by billbil-kun, and the timing is fairly specific: Forza Horizon 6 is set to launch on Xbox Series and PC on May 19, 2026, with the PS5 version planned for later that same year. The matching limited-edition controller and headset will also go on sale simultaneously on May 19, 2026, through the Microsoft Store and authorized retailers. The official reveal date has not yet been confirmed, and whether more exclusive accessories will be added later remains something to watch.
From a product-line perspective, the headset arguably carries more significance than the controller this time. It will be the second limited-edition wireless headset of the Xbox Series era, with the previous one dating back to the Starfield limited edition in 2023. Limited-edition controllers, by contrast, are relatively routine, with the most recent one being the DOOM: The Dark Ages version released in April 2025. In other words, Microsoft’s setup for Forza Horizon 6 goes beyond a typical cosmetic reskin and suggests the game has been placed among its top-tier priority projects.
As for pricing, the limited-edition controller is set at 89.99 euros, 84.99 pounds, and 89.99 dollars, while the limited-edition headset will cost 134.99 euros, 124.99 pounds, and 134.99 dollars. Objectively speaking, this is no longer in the “easy impulse add-on” range, especially since the controller is about 10 euros more expensive than the previous DOOM limited edition. There is clearly a premium here. For users who care only about functionality, these products offer no decisive performance difference compared with the standard versions. Their value still lies mainly in the visual design, collectible appeal, and commemorative significance tied to the game’s release.
From a design standpoint, limited-edition accessories are actually a relatively safe bet for a racing game, because the genre naturally lends itself to a sense of speed, livery-inspired styling, and strong brand identity. That usually translates more directly than abstract sci-fi themes. Combined with the fact that Forza Horizon 6 will also arrive on PS5 later on, this accessory lineup in a way also serves as a showcase for Xbox’s own ecosystem—something like a trial run for a second-generation product line in a cross-platform environment. The platform’s willingness to push accessories early shows that it is not only trying to sell a game, but also hoping to use a popular IP to continue driving hardware accessory sales.
If you’re planning to pick up the game at launch and are already a long-term Xbox ecosystem user, this batch of limited-edition accessories is worth watching at release, especially the headset, which will most likely be scarcer than the controller. If you simply like the Horizon series, though, my recommendation remains more cautious: wait for the official product details and a closer look at the materials and craftsmanship before deciding whether the limited-edition status is worth the premium. After all, from a value-for-money perspective, this feels more like a version aimed at core collectors rather than a universal upgrade for all players.
