Forza Horizon 6 Announces Two Expansions, Sparking Debate

Forza Horizon 6 is not slowing down after launch. Playground Games has outlined its first wave of post-release support, confirming content updates, car packs, and two major expansions, while also saying it is already working on fixes for PC crashes, audio issues, frame drops, and Drivatar AI balance. The first DLC, Italian Passion Car Pack, is due in July.

For an open-world racing game, an update roadmap is a lot like the road itself: the broad direction matters, but the real experience is decided in the corners. Playground’s plan is clear enough. It wants to keep adding content, while also addressing the technical and systems issues players have already started to complain about.

The first visible addition is the Italian Passion Car Pack, which arrives in July. It will add a small but eye-catching set of Italian convertibles and prototypes: the Ferrari F80 (2025), Ferrari 275 GTB4 Spider (1967), Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm (2021), and Alfa Romeo SE 048SP Prototype (1990). It is a neatly curated group rather than a numbers game, mixing modern performance with classic style and a rare prototype edge.

The bigger concern in the community is not whether the new cars are interesting, but whether the racing itself feels fair. Much of the criticism has centered on Drivatar AI, especially at higher difficulty levels, where some opponents feel unfair and certain bot performance values appear too high. Playground Games says it is collecting telemetry data to rebalance the system, which matters more than it may sound: if a racing game starts to feel like the computer is cheating, the challenge stops being satisfying.

PC players have their own list of frustrations. The studio is currently working on crashes, audio bugs, and frame-rate drops, and those issues are reportedly most common on systems using AMD graphics cards. For anyone still deciding whether to jump in on PC, the smarter move may be to watch how the next few patches land instead of focusing on launch momentum alone.

Then there is the economy and achievement side of the conversation, especially the Horizon Play online mode achievement "Data Overflow". It requires players to reach level 100, and the main complaint is simply that it takes too long. Players are asking the studio to reconsider the reward conditions, because the current setup feels less like a meaningful long-term goal and more like a grind for its own sake.

The next few months should stay busy for Forza Horizon 6. After the July car pack, Playground Games says two major expansions are also in development and planned for release over the coming months. For returning players, that means plenty of new content is on the way. For everyone else, the more important question is whether the AI, stability, and achievement design improve quickly enough to make the new additions worth the wait.
