2027 Set to Be Huge as Pokémon Legends Z-A and Mario Collide
Nintendo 2027 Double-Header: Pokemon Gen 10 and New 3D Mario Lead the Way
An anonymous insider known as "Billy" has revealed Nintendo's plans for Pokemon: Wind/Wave and a brand-new 3D Super Mario title launching in September and November 2027, respectively. The Pokemon franchise entry was officially confirmed during the February 27, 2025 Pokemon Day showcase, though only a 2027 release window was provided at that time.

November 2022 to 2027 is roughly five years between mainline entries—unusually long for Game Freak. If the studio leverages that extra development time to polish Gen 10, the wait could be worth it. Scarlet/Violet launched with bugs that still haunt its reputation.
The Mario reveal interests me more. It's been nearly a decade since Super Mario Odyssey in 2017, and Nintendo hasn't shipped a mainline 3D Mario since then. Odyssey set a creative bar that the industry is still catching up to. What will Nintendo deliver?
September 13 is the Mario anniversary, which makes it an obvious reveal candidate.

From a business angle, Nintendo's playbook is sound. A September Pokemon launch clears December for DLC sales during holiday spending. A November Mario release lands on Black Friday perfectly. Spreading two flagship releases across separate months smooths revenue across the fiscal year.
Billy's track record adds weight. This source accurately leaked the full 2026 Pokemon Day lineup, which means credibility is established. Expect details to shift.
What matters more is whether both titles actually deliver. Scarlet/Violet left a sour taste, and Game Freak needs Gen 10 to prove the series still works. Matching that standard won't be easy.

Official announcements likely won't arrive until the 2026 Pokemon Day or a future Nintendo Direct. Either way, the next Pokemon Day should clarify the timeline.
