Bloodborne on Android? Experimental Build Sparks Buzz
shadPS4 has officially brought an experimental Android build to market. Brazilian creator TRC GAMES confirmed that Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice can both load on mobile devices and make it to the boot screen. They still cannot render 3D scenes properly, and in most cases they freeze, crash, or stall before the game fully appears. Even so, that is a notable result for a project many expected only to boot.
The new Android build already supports game directory management, PKG file reading, CPU and GPU monitoring, and frame generation. In other words, this is more than a shell that just launches and stops there. It is an early attempt to build out the full runtime path, even if the gap between “reaches the menu” and “runs smoothly at 30 fps” is still very large.
The hardware bar is high, and the project makes that plain. The official minimum recommendation is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with 8GB of RAM, plus a JIT compiler, Vulkan 1.3, and the Turnip driver. That points squarely at high-end Android hardware, not the average mid-range phone. One test also ran it on a device with a Helio G99 and 4GB of memory. The emulator did not crash immediately, and it even played audio while the screen could not render any graphics.
The PC version is moving forward as well. Recent updates on Windows and Linux added local multiplayer and big-screen mode, which suggests the project is still moving forward rather than resting on a tech demo. The Android build follows that same pace, with the team testing mobile limits rather than promising a finished portable PS4 solution. For now, the real question is not whether Bloodborne will run perfectly on a phone, but how far PS4 emulation on ARM64 mobile devices can still go.
