Valve ships consoles to US warehouses as Steam Machine rumors resurface
Hardware leaker Brad Lynch reports Valve is shipping units labeled as gaming consoles to U.S. distribution warehouses. Between April 18 and 23, multiple console shipments arrived at the facilities. Earlier on April 4, Valve received a batch of wireless PC controllers, later confirmed to be the Steam Controller.

The timing lines up. Valve announced the Steam Controller's price and release date days ago, and engineers mentioned Steam Machine was coming soon despite logistics challenges. Now warehouses are stocking up—the console launch is likely imminent.

For casual weekend players, Steam Machine's appeal is simplicity: plug in and access your Steam library without building a rig. Pricing remains unknown. If it costs significantly more than a DIY build, the value proposition weakens.
Worth waiting to see Valve's pricing strategy. If reasonable, skipping hardware compatibility research for weekend sessions could work for working professionals.
