“Pixel-art city building and resource management scale across five distinct crowns, enhanced by co-op support but hampered by repetitive late-game defense loops.”
編集部の総評
This is a model of "subtractive design"—using the simplest mechanics to create a strategic experience with sufficient depth. In the first ten hours, you'll be hooked by that tense feeling of advancing step by step, where every coin must be spent carefully and every defensive battle is a life-or-death test.
But you also need to accept its limitations. The content volume can't sustain long-term play, repetition becomes obvious in the late game, and the story is almost nonexistent. If you're expecting epic kingdom-building like Civilization, this game will disappoint you. It's more like an exquisite vignette—short, restrained, with a lingering aftertaste.
The two-player mode is a plus; defending the castle with a friend is far more interesting than solo play. But even in co-op, you'll feel fatigued after twenty hours.
Is it worth buying? If you enjoy strategy games and are willing to pay for an ingenious core mechanic, it's worth the price. If you're after content volume and long-term experience, wait for a sale.
