According to the PS5 Hong Kong store, Bandai Namco has recently changed the PS5 Hong Kong store lineup and pricing for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. The Standard Edition has received a permanent price cut from HK$499 to HK$349, while the previous Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition have been officially delisted. In their place, two new bundles have taken over: the Extreme Ultra Breakthrough NEO Edition and the Digital Legend Edition.

The tradeoff is straightforward. The lower Standard Edition price lowers the barrier to entry, while the new editions are aimed at players who expect to buy the extra content. A permanent HK$150 reduction is not just a temporary discount. It resets the store page's baseline price, which matters for players who have been waiting rather than buying at launch.
As a storefront reset, this looks like a cleaner repackaging of the edition structure. Instead of asking first-time buyers to start from a HK$499 baseline, Bandai Namco is separating the base game from the broader content package. That makes the first purchase easier to justify, while still leaving room for higher-priced bundles aimed at players who already know they want more.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is not a small fighting game. It is a full 3D arena fighter with more than 180 fighters drawn from Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball GT, and the theatrical films. Each character also has distinct skills, transformations, and combat styles. From a development standpoint, a roster like that is not just a stack of extra skins. Animation, hit detection, camera work, effects, and online synchronization all come with costs, so it is not surprising that future content is being folded into pricier editions.

The delisting of the old Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition makes this look less like a discount campaign and more like a SKU reset. The Extreme Ultra Breakthrough NEO Edition includes the base game and the Extreme Ultra Breakthrough NEO add-on content. The Digital Legend Edition includes the base game, Extreme Ultra Breakthrough NEO content, the Season Pass, Season Pass Bonus, the Ultimate Upgrade Pack, and the Ultimate Edition Bonus.
The structure is familiar: the cheaper Standard Edition brings in new players, the top edition sells the fuller package, and the middle option gives players who mainly want new content a clearer path. The important point is that the new names are not value on their own. What matters is whether the add-on characters, bonuses, and long-term content are actually things a given player expects to use.
For buyers who only want the base game, the roster, and online matches, the HK$349 Standard Edition is now the more reasonable entry point. For anyone planning to follow the Season Pass over time, the Digital Legend Edition may make sense, but its value depends on whether those extra characters and bonuses matter to you, not how premium the bundle sounds.
The game supports 2 to 8 players in online multiplayer, and that is where much of its long-term value has to come from. Still, server quality, matchmaking conditions, and player activity will decide whether this price cut turns into lasting momentum or simply makes the store page look more approachable.
