OD Gameplay Footage May Have Appeared on YouTube Pending Official Confirmation

OD, the new horror game from Kojima Productions in partnership with Xbox, is back in the spotlight after two short, alleged gameplay clips suddenly surfaced on YouTube, after Reddit users spotted them. The two clips have since been stitched together for easier viewing, and the scenes shown reportedly closely match scenes from OD's trailer shown last September. Even so, their authenticity remains unconfirmed.

The clips spread quickly not just because Kojima Productions + Xbox draws attention on its own, but because OD has been linked to leaks before. The game's first public appearance wasn't an official reveal at all, but a leaked behind-the-scenes video under the name Overdose. In that sense, this project has repeatedly surfaced publicly before any formal reveal.

What stands out is how closely the clips stick to material already seen in public. Instead, they seem to build on the same oppressive tone as last September's trailer. An empty room, objects near a window, and uneasy camera angles all lean into the psychological horror direction OD appears to be chasing. That kind of familiar-but-off imagery tends to work well in horror.

The community, however, is split for a simple reason: convincing AI fakes are easier to make than ever. The original report explicitly notes that the footage could have been artificially fabricated through technical means, and that caveat changes the conversation. One side is comparing trailer details frame by frame for consistency; the other is watching camera texture, object movement, and lighting more closely for signs of compositing or synthesis.

The basic facts, though, have not changed. OD is a new horror game being developed through a collaboration between Kojima Productions and Xbox. Its release date is still unknown, and it is currently expected to launch on PC and Xbox platforms. At this stage, whether the clips are real is unlikely to change anyone's mind. What matters more is whether an official response follows, whether longer uninterrupted footage appears, and whether platform store pages change with them.

In the broader context of modern blockbuster marketing, this kind of alleged gameplay footage is only going to become more common, whether it comes from genuine early leaks or convincing fakes assembled with technical tools. For a project as secretive as OD, that kind of material can absolutely drive attention, but it also fuels even more argument. The real pivot point now is not whether players get a few seconds early, but when the official version of OD is shown properly through official channels.
