109 Hero Cards, One Hundred and Nine Generals Launches at ¥22
According to GamerSky, The 109th Outlaw, a story-driven immersive RPG from a three-person team in China, launched on Steam today. The game is set in the world of Water Margin, normally costs 26 yuan, and is available at launch for 22.1 yuan with a -15% discount.
The pitch is straightforward; the feel is harder to judge. There is no frame-rate data yet, and I would not treat this as an action game for now. The 109th Outlaw is positioning itself as a Water Margin narrative RPG, not as a fighting game. Players drop into that universe as the 109th hero, then recruit other heroes through key choices, build up Outlaw Cards, and push character fates and story branches in different directions.
Judging by the mission screen, progression appears to revolve around choice-based interaction and relationship building.

The combat screenshot has blood on the ground, and the action reads a touch sharper than the premise might suggest. But one image cannot tell you much about hitboxes, impact feedback, hitstun, or input delay. Those are things that need hands-on testing, not screenshot analysis.
Based on what is shown, the more important system is the collection of Outlaw Cards. The screen shows nine character cards in a cartoon-styled presentation, with hero recruitment tied to player decisions.

On paper, that invites comparisons to assists or team composition in a fighting game. The open question is whether story branches meaningfully affect combat builds, or whether the collection layer mainly serves the narrative. For now, that cannot be judged from the available material.
The price changes the equation. At 22.1 yuan, the cost of trying it is roughly a cup of milk tea. For a three-person team building a game around the Water Margin setting, there is at least a clear sense of intent.

Among small Chinese releases in this price range, The 109th Outlaw has an immediately recognizable theme and systems that look approachable. If you are coming for heavy impact, tight execution, and competitive depth, waiting for hands-on impressions is the safer move.
The practical advice is simple. Players who like branching stories, hero collection, and Chinese narrative games can consider jumping in now.

Players looking for hardcore action or fighting-game feel should wait for real testing. At 22.1 yuan, the risk is fairly limited, but do not buy it as a fighting game. With the launch -15% discount, those who mainly want to support the project are unlikely to regret buying now.
