Pokémon: Wind/Wave Officially Announced! All Three New Starter Pokémon Fully Revealed, Setting Sail to the Islands in 2027

Nintendo and Game Freak have officially unveiled Pokémon Wind/Wave, slated for release in 2027. The new title is set across a scenic archipelago, and three brand-new starter Pokémon have been revealed simultaneously.

Bomgeng (Fire-type)

Category: Puppy Pokémon / Ability: Blaze / Height: 0.4m / Weight: 6.7kg

It has a heat-generating organ inside its lungs, and a faint glow emanates from beneath its neck. Friendly and innocent by nature, it's the heartwarming pick of this generation's starter trio.

Leafbrow Bird (Grass-type)

Category: Chick Pokémon / Ability: Overgrow / Height: 0.3m / Weight: 3.5kg

Its leaf-shaped eyebrows can perform photosynthesis. Full of energy and constantly bouncing around, it occasionally trips over itself in clumsy fashion — a delightful contrast to its lively demeanor.

Miaolei (Water-type)

Category: Water Gecko Pokémon / Ability: Torrent / Height: 0.3m / Weight: 4.3kg

Its tail can fire bouncy water balloons. Highly intelligent, it habitually puts on a performance far beyond its actual abilities — a crafty little schemer who always has a trick up its sleeve.

Beyond the starters, the game also introduces version-exclusive Pikachu forms — "Windy Pikachu" and "Wavy Pikachu" — though their specific roles in the adventure have yet to be revealed. The protagonist's outfit design will also differ between versions.
