PS5 Pressing Error Limits Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition To Base Game

Plaion is addressing a critical manufacturing error affecting the PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Confirmed by blogger @DoesItPlay1 and corroborating sources, the Royal Edition discs were incorrectly pressed as standard releases, meaning the physical media contains zero DLC. Rather than re-pressing the discs, the publisher's initial fix distributes digital redemption codes, leaving players who paid a premium for the complete package with access to the base game only.

The response has failed to address the core expectations of physical collectors. Leakers emphasize that a production error of this magnitude requires a full disc re-press, not a digital workaround. Redemption codes offer no value to collectors building a tangible library, reducing a high-priced edition to a mere access key. Beyond the immediate frustration, handling the issue this way risks damaging Plaion's reputation with the retail audience, who demand accuracy in both packaging and content.

For now, digital storefronts remain unaffected by the disc production glitch. However, buyers interested in the physical release should carefully inspect packaging identifiers before purchasing. Given the uncertainty around the remedy, it is advisable to wait for an official announcement from Plaion regarding how they will properly rectify the situation for existing owners before making a decision.
