Xbox adds 10 groups and controller mouse support in major update
Microsoft's latest Xbox system update brings major changes across consoles, PC, and ROG Ally handhelds, expanding game groups from 2 to 10 and adding controller cursor support.

The group expansion fixes a real problem. Two fixed groups meant every game piled into the same space—RPGs mixed with shooters mixed with indies. Now with 10 groups available, you can actually organize your library in a way that makes sense. Finding a specific game no longer requires scrolling through an unsorted mess.
Controller cursor mode handles situations where mouse input used to be mandatory. It's not as precise as an actual mouse, but it beats plugging in peripherals just to click a menu button. On PC, manual game addition lets you pull in titles from Steam or Epic directly into the Xbox library. If you're juggling multiple storefronts, that consolidation saves constant app-switching.

ROG Ally owners get dock mode optimization and enhanced LE Audio support. Handheld-to-TV performance has lagged behind native consoles—this update narrows that gap. Cloud gaming now allows manual resolution settings before launch and displays real-time network quality indicators. When streaming stutters, you'll know whether it's your connection or the server.
Microsoft addressed specific player requests here. Quick Resume can now be disabled per game. System interface colors support finer customization. A new game history tab tracks recent activity. Xbox Insider members can test automatic super resolution, which should noticeably improve older titles if it rolls out widely. These aren't flashy additions, but they solve actual friction points in daily use.
