Ubisoft has confirmed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag – Memory Reset launches globally on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The remake preserves all original side content while rebuilding it from the ground up.

The standout addition is auto-navigation for ships. Set a waypoint and your vessel sails itself—a genuine relief for anyone who's spent hours manually steering across the Caribbean. The original's tedious long-haul voyages are now optional; you can focus on the scenery or handle other tasks while your ship handles the route.

Gameplay refinements matter just as much. The Kenway's Fleet system gets improvements, the wanted system returns, and the original's phone-dependent companion game is now integrated directly into the main experience. Whaling, legendary ship battles, and other signature activities remain intact. Ubisoft promises a full breakdown of naval mechanics by late May.

Technically, the remake runs on the same Anvil engine powering Assassin's Creed Shadows. It supports dynamic weather, advanced water simulation, ray tracing, and seamless loading. For players who value performance and visual fidelity, naval combat should feel substantially sharper—Black Flag's ship battles were already a series high point.

If you missed the 2013 original or want Edward Kenway's pirate saga on current hardware, this remake delivers. July 9: time to set sail again.
