Kaleido Chase Revealed as Bunny Garden 2’s Bike Girl Twist Tries Something New
Chasing Kaleido, a new anime-styled project from Tencent-owned Feichi Hagele Studio, revealed its first closed test recruitment PV and a gameplay showcase today. Set in the fictional near-future city of Terminal, the game is being positioned as a 3D heart-pounding RPG built around motorcycle-riding girls. Based on what has been shown so far, the pitch is straightforward: urban paranormal investigation, battles against monstrous invaders, and a premise that gives its style some mechanical and narrative grounding.
The motorcycles and special weapons are the first details that really matter, because they will decide whether Chasing Kaleido can actually stand out in a crowded field of anime urban fantasy games. In the revealed setting, the Kaleido RIDER are superpowered girls of unknown origin who ride motorcycles and fight massive creatures called Hysteria Beasts, enemies far larger than themselves. That contrast between small, fast riders and oversized targets gives the footage immediate visual punch. More importantly, the Hysteria Beasts are more than generic monsters. They are born from negative human consciousness, which means the setup is aiming for more than a surface-level "pretty girls fight monsters" pitch.
This is not a setting chasing hard realism. What it does have, at least for now, is internal consistency. Beyond the real world is an independent realm of consciousness called the Sea of Consciousness. The Convergence Phenomenon occurs when that realm overlaps with reality, and Convergence Points become the channels through which Hysteria Beasts invade the real world and trigger large-scale anomalies across Terminal. The key detail is that ordinary people cannot see these creatures at all, and even the Kaleido RIDER can only sense them vaguely. To perceive them clearly, they need a Navigator who possesses the Kaleido Eye. That is the player's role: you play as a Navigator who gains the Kaleido Eye through an accident, then leads the Kaleido RIDER in investigating strange urban incidents, fighting Hysteria Beasts, and searching for the truth about the riders, the world, and yourself. It's a cleaner way of tying the player to the combat premise than the usual tacked-on commander role.

On the gameplay side, the official pitch centers on investigating urban mysteries, battling Hysteria Beasts, and exhilarating card-based combat while riding motorcycles. This is where some caution is still warranted. Whether the motorcycles and card systems meaningfully interact is the key question for the project. If the bikes are only there for presentation and combat still boils down to stationary card play, then the vehicle hook risks becoming little more than marketing trim. If, on the other hand, route choice, chase tempo, and card timing are all tied to being on the bike, then the game could carve out a genuinely distinct rhythm.

So far, the vehicle side looks more convincing than doubtful. The PV and gameplay footage at least bring together three elements in a coherent way: near-future neon city atmosphere, character interaction, and paranormal investigation. That matters because Chasing Kaleido does not appear to be betting on combat alone. The setup also leaves room for character relationships and story progression. The broader community will probably notice the "motorcycle anime girls" angle first, but retention will likely depend on whether the investigation loop, narrative drive, and combat structure feel like one coherent whole rather than a stack of disconnected ideas.
