Pearl Abyss Drops 75 Red Desert Tracks for Free in Smart Pre-Launch Move
Pearl Abyss is giving away the first Crimson Desert soundtrack album for free on Steam before the game even launches. The Crimson Desert Original Soundtrack Volume 1 contains 75 tracks spanning main themes, combat music, exploration ambience, and boss battle scores—and you don't need to own the base game to claim it permanently.

The release includes both MP3 and FLAC lossless formats. Pearl Abyss stated in their announcement that given the high expectations around the game's music globally, they wanted to deliver high-quality audio files as a thank-you to supporters. It's a straightforward gesture, but one that stands out—not many studios offer lossless formats at no cost.

Steam is just the starting point. The soundtrack will roll out to Epic, Spotify, and Apple Music, covering most major music platforms. The four-theme structure—main theme, combat, exploration, boss battles—makes it easy to loop specific moods or jump between scenes depending on what you're after.

From a marketing standpoint, this move makes sense. Game music primes atmosphere better than trailers, and letting players soak in Crimson Desert's soundscape early builds familiarity before launch. The free model also spreads fast and might pull in listeners who weren't tracking the game initially. Pearl Abyss is signaling confidence in their audio team while earning goodwill. Whether the game itself delivers remains to be seen at release, but for now, the ears are well fed.
