*Delta Force* collaborates with *Tomb Raider*—this time I kind of want to jump back in!
I opened the news on the subway and saw that Delta Force is collaborating with Tomb Raider, and my first reaction was that this combo actually feels pretty exciting. One leans toward modern tactical shooting, while the other carries that familiar ancient-ruins adventure vibe. Put together, it’s like adding a hint of mint to coffee—it wakes you up instantly.
The official trailer has already been uploaded to Delta Force’s YouTube channel, so this collaboration is no longer just a rumor—it’s confirmed content already served up. Based on the current information, the crossover will officially go live when the “Echo Season” begins, so players who want to keep an eye on it can start getting hyped now.

Judging from the footage released so far, the most eye-catching part of this collaboration is still that signature Tomb Raider atmosphere. Torches, ruins, dim environments, and the feeling of characters exploring in the shadows all make it very easy to get pulled in visually. It’s like casually tapping on a short adventure movie on your commute home—not very long, but the atmosphere is there right away, and it feels pretty satisfying.

As a casual player myself, I honestly don’t have much patience for weapon stats or overly complex loadout systems. Once there are too many mechanics, it gets annoying fast. But if crossover content can really nail character designs, environmental presentation, and interactive set pieces, it becomes far more appealing than simply adding one more gun. After all, a lot of people come back to a game not to study formulas, but for that instant feeling of, “Yeah, this is exactly the vibe.”
Another interesting point is the timing. The Tomb Raider series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. The remastered Tomb Raider: The Legacy of Atlantis is planned for release in 2026, while the brand-new sequel Tomb Raider: Cataclysm is expected in 2027. Seen in that context, this Delta Force crossover feels more like an early warm-up, gradually bringing the presence of the classic IP back into the spotlight.

If you’re already playing Delta Force, then this kind of crossover is basically an easy excuse to sample something new—check out the skins, events, and presentation to see whether they’re worth your time. If you’re more like me and only log in occasionally to unwind, I’d suggest waiting to see the actual content after “Echo Season” launches before deciding whether to jump back in. A good-looking crossover trailer is one thing, but whether it can really retain players depends on whether the gameplay can truly capture Tomb Raider’s sense of adventure.
One more thing: these kinds of crossovers are starting to feel more and more like an “emotional flavor pack” for shooter games. They don’t necessarily need to completely reinvent the core gameplay—just slip more memorable characters and atmosphere into an already fairly hard-edged framework. If done well, players will find it refreshing; if done too shallowly, it just turns into something you forget the moment the poster’s gone.

There still isn’t a huge amount of confirmed information yet, but at least the pairing works, and the visual direction is pretty appealing. For casual players, what I’m looking forward to most isn’t how complicated it is, but whether it can make even a quick ten- or twenty-minute session feel a little tense, a little healing, and genuinely adventurous. If it really can do that, then this crossover won’t just be a gimmick—it might actually bring a whole wave of lapsed players back.
