"Egg Adventure" goes crazy with a 50% off Easter sale, the gameplay feel is insanely addictive.
Oh man, the moment this update dropped, I instantly woke up. For Easter the egg itself actually clocks in to work—this is literally the holiday and the game opening all their chakras at once!

For anyone who hasn’t heard of it: Egging On is a high-difficulty physics-based jumping game made by Egobounds and jointly published by Alibi Games and IndieArk. The title sounds soft and cute, but actually playing it feels like doing punishment games on a livestream. One slip of the hand and that egg on your screen dies on the spot. Players with fragile hearts really need to know their limits. You play as a fragile egg, climbing higher and higher through a chicken coop, farm, store, factory and other scenes. Every step feels like walking a tightrope: you can only rely on rolling, flipping, and hopping to scrape together tiny bits of height.

The core controls are very abstract, but once you get them, they’re extremely addictive. You have to first get the egg rolling smoothly, then use the rhythm of the roll to jump—like giving yourself a real-physics “run-up takeoff.” If your rhythm is off or you miscalculate the angle, you’ll spiral down from on high and crash, smashing so hard your own heart goes numb. That’s when your mentality really gets tested: you have to learn to cut your losses after mistakes, otherwise your mouse and keyboard might end up paying for your rage. Each stage is stuffed with interactive elements. You need to figure out the egg’s physical properties so its rolling and jumping form a comfortable cycle. When you get into the groove, you get that “possessed by a god” kind of rush.

Now for the main part: this Easter update is just wild. They’ve added a new Egg Hunt Mode, basically turning the entire game into a massive Easter egg scavenger hunt. Hidden Easter eggs can spawn in any level. You have to keep your sweaty, panicked movements under control to stay alive while also splitting your focus to search for eggs. The pacing instantly shifts from pure hardcore platforming to “taking an exam while picking up red envelopes.” And these eggs are not just for show: collecting them gradually unlocks up to twelve egg skins. If you love swapping shells, you’ve now got fresh grind fuel. Watching your newly unlocked shell roll its way up high is as satisfying as ranking up a full tier in competitive.

However! The real challenge laid down for veterans this time is the new Ice Egg Shell skin. It’s hidden somewhere in the game waiting for you to unlock, which is already a puzzle in itself. It doesn’t just look like a cold, icy shell; the key is that the egg becomes much more slippery. The handling just sprints straight toward “out of control.” The whole egg zips around like it’s been greased up, and all the force control and rhythm you previously practiced have to be relearned from scratch. You can think of it as the devs giving you a free “advanced difficulty training camp.” To everyone who claims to be a mechanical god, I genuinely want to say: I dare you to turn on the Ice Egg Shell and clear the game in one run—fail and you have to change your Steam game review on the spot.
Lastly, let’s talk about whether it’s worth buying. Right now Egging On is running a limited-time sale on Steam. The devs say this is the new all-time low price since launch, straight to 50% off. For a small, hardcore jumping game like this, that price is basically “come try it and see how mad you get.” If you’ve played stuff like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy and enjoy that “breaking down while still wanting another run” kind of pain, this one is a no-brainer recommendation. An Easter update that adds a mode and skins plus a 50% discount—very solid value.
If you’re more into casual play, afraid of frustration, and you game mainly to unwind after work, I’d say watch some streams first. Let the streamer’s screams give you a sense of the difficulty. If their suffering expressions make you laugh, then decide whether you want to pay tuition and suffer firsthand. That way at least your expectations are set: the only thing that’ll be shattered is the egg on screen, not the brand-new keyboard you just bought.
