Fable's Collector's Edition is sold out; the Deluxe Edition is still available

Fable’s $199.99 Collector’s Edition has already sold out, even though Playground Games’ reboot is still eight months away from release on February 23, 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5. Both Playground Games and the publisher say there are no restock plans for now, and they are pointing pre-order buyers toward the still-available Digital Deluxe Edition instead.

The early sell-out tells you plenty about Fable’s pull. Even at a premium price, the series still has enough name recognition to clear a collector’s box this far before launch. Physical extras clearly still have an audience, despite the dominance of digital storefronts.

If you want the more practical option, the Digital Deluxe Edition is the safer pick. It includes five days of early access, a digital art book, the soundtrack, and a story-driven expansion after launch. In other words, it gives up the collector’s-box appeal in exchange for a bundle with more immediate value.

Pre-ordering any edition also gets you the Chicken Suit cosmetic and an in-game gift item. It is not a major incentive, but it fits Fable’s usual mix of silliness and nostalgia.

The more interesting change is the new regional reputation system. In Albion, reputation is tracked separately from town to town, and character appearance will no longer change based on morality choices. Creative director Ralph Fulton said players can build completely different identities in each location, which means the same character should feel different depending on where they are.

So if you are buying for collectibility, the Collector’s Edition is already gone. If you care more about early access and extra content, the Digital Deluxe Edition is the obvious fallback. The real question now is whether the regional reputation system gives Albion a different feel from one town to the next when the game opens early on February 18, 2027 for Deluxe buyers.
