Fatal Fury's 1st Anniversary Brings Krauser Back — Did the Dark Emperor Survive?
Krauser sits on that throne, golden hair falling past his shoulders, red light bleeding through from behind—the whole frame looks like frozen blood. When SNK dropped this promo art, I stared for a few seconds. The man who fell to the legendary wolf is actually back.

One year after Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves launched, SNK handed players a solid gift with Krauser. The DLC goes live April 24, 2026, bringing Wolfgang Krauser as Season Pass 2's fourth fighter. SNK tapped Masami Obari to direct the animated trailer—that clash of mechanical precision and raw force, paired with Krauser's signature pink energy waves, nails the atmosphere.

This update does more than add one character. SNK launched a Standard Edition at 2,980 yen, lowering the entry barrier. Existing players get perks too: Legend Edition drops to 3,894 yen with a limited 40% discount, and Season Pass 1 now sells separately for 1,480 yen. The real surprise is the music streaming deal—97 tracks hit platforms in June 2026, so you can run to Fatal Fury BGM at the gym.

Krauser's return carries weight. Canon says his son spread rumors of his death, but he's been alive all along. "Fake death comeback" plots aren't new in fighting games, but in the Fatal Fury timeline, it feels like destiny—those old legends always circle back to the ring for a final reckoning. Season Pass 2 still has one mystery character left, and with crossover picks like Kenshiro already in, SNK clearly wants to push the IP's reach further. The full Season Pass 2 roster includes Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, Wolfgang Krauser, Kenshiro, and one undisclosed fighter.

If you've been waiting to jump in, now's a decent window. Standard Edition pricing is fair, and the content package feels complete. For veterans, Krauser expands the roster in a meaningful way—power-style players especially should give this dark emperor a shot. I just hope SNK keeps working on balance patches. Fighting games die when the meta ossifies around two or three dominant picks.
