Forza Horizon 6 goes gold with Japan setting as series' largest map ever
Playground Games confirmed Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, locking in a May 19, 2026 release for Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

Gold status means development is wrapped. The Japan setting delivers the series' largest map yet, spanning the Tokyo metropolitan area and Mount Fuji region. The dynamic season system received upgrades, though Playground hasn't detailed the changes.

The audio setup stands out: 9 radio stations with the highest track count in series history, up from 7 stations in the previous entry. Accessibility features fill gaps from prior releases—auto-drive, high-contrast mode, and high-definition mode all made the cut.

Standard edition runs ¥298 in China. Premium buyers get four-day early access starting May 15. Day-one Xbox Game Pass inclusion is confirmed. PS5 version arrives later in 2026, making Xbox and PC the only launch platforms.
Series veterans should watch how the map design and season system actually perform. The Japan setting sounds promising, but whether it matches Horizon 5's Mexico layering won't be clear until hands-on. The ¥298 price point holds steady with series norms. Game Pass subscribers get it at no extra cost.
